Chapter 223: 223: You’re Crying?

Sunnie burst into a soft laughter as they heard Luka and Azure leaving with the little ones. Eris joined in too.

"Well, that was embarrassing," Sunnie laughed.

"That’s what he gets for sneaking around," Eris said as the two of them continued laughing together in the room while cuddled closely to each other.

Eris smiled as he stared down at her.

"What is it? What are you staring at?"

He continued smiling as he said, "I don’t know. I was just wondering if I’m going to be a father soon or... Am I thinking too much?" He stared down at her stomach, which was covered by the piece of clothing.

Sunnie smiled. "What are you thinking about now...?"

Eris smiled as he said, "I mean, we did it last night, and I’m pretty sure it went all in... so what if...? I don’t know... You’re bearing my cub down there...?" He said, tracing his fingers down her stomach.

Sunnie smiled as she shook her head. "Shameless."

"Yes, I am. So tell me, are you feeling anything down there...? Maybe something kicking or moving? Anything?" He asked curiously, but Sunnie smiled while she shook her head.

"No... nothing happened. Not feeling anything," she said with a smile, shaking her head.

At that moment, she could see the disappointment in his face—his hopeful smile had faded while he sighed and stared at her. "I guess I’ll have to work hard next time."

Sunnie burst out into laughter. "Try harder? What?"

"Why are you laughing? Tease me again, and we’ll continue trying here until you finally feel it in your stomach."

Sunnie shook her head with a smile as she said, "No need for that at all. Jeez. I’m not feeling it because I already know that I have them."

He paused as he stared at her, watching her smile while trying to read her face and interpret her words. "What does that mean...?"

Sunnie smiled. "What else could it mean?" She shrugged. "It simply means that you’ll become a father soon. Just like Luka and Azure."

As soon as Eris heard that, he could feel his chest beat fast. A sharp thrill rose within him as a smile flashed through his face. He forgot how to breathe for a second while he stared at Sunnie.

"You... what’s... that’s... you..." He had forgotten how to use words while Sunnie laughed at him.

"You... you are..." He stared down at her stomach, running his hands over it. "You actually do... you are...?"

"Yes, yes, yes... I am pregnant with your cub." She smiled. "I was just teasing you. I can feel it. It’s been quite chaotic in there, so I think it might actually be more than one."

She stared at his face, watching his smile bloom more and more. "You... So I’ll be a father... I..." He kept smiling like a fool while staring at her stomach and feeling it. "I’ll be a father soon... You have my cub in there... You..." He smiled as tears began running down his eyes.

Sunnie was shocked. "Wait, are you crying?" She asked as he wiped off his tears.

"No... I’m not crying at all... I’m just happy... that’s it... Don’t overthink it." He said while still wiping the tears.

Sunnie couldn’t help but smile while she stared at him. She couldn’t believe that he was brought to tears by the cub announcement. She couldn’t help but also feel emotional by it. "I can’t believe it... that’s so sweet of you."

"Stop talking. I’m not crying. It’s nothing." He said as she simply smiled while she shook her head.

"Okay, then. Whatever you say." She said with a smile.

She could see the rush of emotions on his face. He was too excited and happy that he didn’t even know what to do but stare. Then he said, "Can I listen?"

Sunnie smiled with a nod. "Sure."

And so Eris leaned closer to her stomach to listen. Though he couldn’t hear anything, he could feel it. He could feel his blood running through her, he could feel the intense connection. He could tell that this was his cub without even thinking twice. The thought of it instantly brought him to more tears.

Sunnie stared at him with a smile. "I never knew our Eris was such an emotional crybaby like this. That’s so sweet."

"I’m not crying," he said as he moved back. "Just surprised."

Sunnie smiled with a nod. "Sure, sure."

"Don’t tell anyone that I cried, though," Eris said as she nodded with a smile.

"So what are we going to name it?" Eris asked excitedly.

"But it’s not even out yet," Sunnie smiled.

"I know... I still want to name it earlier." He expressed as Sunnie smiled.

"Okay, then. You pick a name for it." She offered.

"Me? Oh... let’s see..." Eris was quiet for a while, thinking about what he could name it. But nothing was coming at the moment. And so he said, "Then I guess I’ll wait for it to come out. I’ll be thinking of something till then."

Sunnie smiled with a nod. "Okay, then. Sure. I’ll be waiting for you and the name on the day I deliver our little one."

He nodded with a smile as he stared down at her stomach.

Eris was quiet as he gently ran his hand through her stomach, caressing it while letting himself feel the blood running through her. He smiled at it while he said in a low tone, "Thanks..."

Sunnie also stared up at him. Their eyes met as the two of them smiled. Then Eris gently pulled Sunnie closer to lean against his chest while he warmed her up. "Thanks for giving me the opportunity to be a father. Thanks for bearing my cub... Thanks a lot."

Sunnie smiled as she felt her heart warm at his words. She couldn’t help but also wrap her arms around his waist with a smile as she said, "I’m more than happy to."

And so the two of them stayed like that for a while before even thinking of going out for the day’s activities.
