Chapter 216: 216: Still Mad?
Aya began pleading to be let go. She pleaded in every way possible, but it didn’t seem like Eris was going to relent at all.
"No need to beg. I’ve already made up my mind to get rid of any annoying fox that trespasses on this land. And I guess you were just too unlucky," he smiled.
Sunnie could tell that he might potentially kill them all on the spot. He looked furious enough to do it. But Sunnie didn’t think it was a good idea for him to go that far.
She hated Aya, of course—she despised her for trying to take her mate away and for being so clingy. But she wasn’t going to get to the point of wanting to kill her off.
"Let’s not..." Sunnie approached, holding onto Eris by the hand. She stared into his eyes and slowly nodded, hoping to calm him down. She shook her head.
Eris stared at her for a while. Sunnie could feel him burning up. He was furious and angry enough to do anything. She could tell that he was reminded of his past with the fox clan.
At that moment, it was obvious that he was battling his trauma within. But Sunnie calmed him down slowly until he pulled away.
Sunnie turned and stared at the female. "I’ll give you all a minute to run." She stared at the foxes behind her as well. "And I’ll keep my word—only a minute to run. I’m being generous enough. If you can’t escape within that timeframe, then don’t blame me for being heartless. Okay?"
She smiled as she stepped backward, signaling them to let go of the foxes. They did, and Sunnie stared at them. She didn’t say anything but began counting.
Immediately, the other foxes took off and began running down the evil forest for their dear lives, while Aya tried begging to be set free. But Sunnie wasn’t even listening.
When she saw that Sunnie was still counting, Aya turned and ran off as well, running as fast as her legs could carry her, miserably fleeing down the evil forest to save her life.
They had all run off and disappeared into thin air as Sunnie counted down to one. Then she smiled as she stared at the wild beasts. "Give them some run."
The wild beasts took off and began running down the evil forest after them. Soon, they had all disappeared into the distance. No one could see them from where they stood.
"Did you just let them off like that?" Karl inquired.
Sunnie folded her arms. "No. I didn’t. We’ll never know what happened to them, I guess." She said. "If they survived the wild beast chase or died in their brutal hands—I guess we’ll never know for now. But at least they didn’t die in our hands, did they?" She turned to her husbands with a smile.
Azure pulled Maren closer, covering her eyes, while Luka also did the same, covering Ronan’s ears as Sunnie stared with a smile, scoffing.
Karl slowly nodded as he raised a finger toward Sunnie. "That’s brutal. I kind of like it."

And with that, they had driven away the threat they faced. Now they turned to set everything in order, fixing the mess that had been made because of the foxes breaking into the house.
All that while, Eris was simply quiet. He didn’t say anything and had disappeared to be alone in a corner, lost in thought.
Sunnie didn’t bother approaching him. She let him be alone with his thoughts. She figured he needed that time to himself, so she didn’t intrude.
Dinner was ready, and Sunnie summoned everyone. They all sat down together before the fire and enjoyed their meal.
Eris was sitting with them as well. While Sunnie ate, she got up and went to sit down opposite him. "Want me to feed you?" she offered.
Eris stared down at her and let out a soft smile. He had been moody all day, and Sunnie was missing his usual smiles.
"Why?" Eris smiled at her. "You’re not angry and jealous anymore?" He teased.
Sunnie rolled her eyes. "I was never angry or jealous at all."
He nodded. "Okay, then."
"I’m just worried about you... you’ve been moody all day. I’m worried if you’re okay or not," she explained. "You should smile more. It suits you."
Eris smiled as he stared at her. "So you find me more handsome when I smile, right?"
"I didn’t say anything." She turned away. "And if you don’t want the food, that’s okay. I won’t force you."
Eris held her hand and fed himself through Sunnie’s hand. He smiled as he stared at her. "You should feed me."
Sunnie stared at him as the two of them smiled. "Whatever..." She said as she fed him some more.
The others stared while shaking their heads in disbelief. "You all are just getting lovey-dovey now... must we see this?" Little Black inquired.
Luka smiled as he folded his arms, staring at Little Black. "You’re too little, so go and sleep."
"I’m not little," Little Black debated while he continued eating regardless.
Sunnie continued feeding Eris for a while. He ate from her hands, smiling from time to time, pleased.
While she fed him, he asked, "So, you’re not angry at me, right? You won’t be ignoring me anymore, right?" He asked while staring at her.
Sunnie scoffed. "And why does that matter? Continue eating."
"It matters a lot to me. I don’t like to see you mad at me and ignoring me. It hurts my heart. So answer me. Okay?" He said as he held onto her hand and stared intensely into her face.
Sunnie paused, staring at his hands which held hers, then slowly looked up at his eyes. His eyes were desperate and confessional. It was desperate and filled with yearning in the best ways possible. They were so glued to her that she almost forgot to breathe in that moment.
