Chapter 215: 215: Lies Laid Bare.

Eris proceeded.

"Everything about your act was suspicious, I suppose. But I guess that wasn’t the most striking factor—one of them had to be your questions."

"Everything about them was strategic. I have to give it to you—it was actually a smart way of asking questions without being suspicious, hiding your intentions between questions. Asking about landmarks, lands, places, our schedules, lifestyle, and even our storage and all..." He smiled. "I was picking out all the questions while following you, and I guess you didn’t even know."

He continued. "You did a lot of suspicious things, especially at night. I caught you out late a couple of times. Of course I would take it casually, but I guess you didn’t know I already knew what you always did then."

"Nights were when you’d send messages to them, informing them about your discoveries—telling them about the landmarks and storage, everything you’d discovered." He smiled. "And you always wrote them in traditional fox hidden code. And guess what? I read all of them."

Aya gasped as she staggered backward. "How..."

He smiled. "I read all of them. So I knew each step of the plan you were making with them. And I even hid some messages from them. That’s why they don’t have the full information and ended up in this mess today. Because some crucial information you sent them, they never received."

Aya gasped as she shook her head. "No..."

He smiled as he continued. "The time I left you alone in the forest without you knowing, I was actually testing you. It was simple—if you went missing, then it meant you hadn’t researched the land more. But if you found your way back home, it meant you’d finally learned the land well enough. And guess what? You found your way back even though I didn’t show you the directions to the spot I left you in."

He smiled. "And you simply said that you found your way... that easily."

He sighed as he added, "You were never expecting me to bring you to the farmland, because today was the day you’d execute your plan and have your men come. But I took you out anyway." He smiled. "And the way you knew the dangerous spot in the land said a lot... It simply meant that you’d even studied the farmland without me even taking you there. Now, isn’t that an interesting thing to do?"

Aya staggered backward more until her back met Zayn, who cast her a cold glare. She stiffened as she turned and stared at Eris, who was slowly approaching, both arms folded while he glared down at her.

"So. Now do you have anything else to say? Because you certainly can’t deny it." He scoffed. "And you’d think I’d buy the trick because we’re from the same clan? What affection do you think I’d have towards a clan that abandoned me and treated me like a monster?"

"Did you think I’d suddenly forgive the tribe and accept you? You should be lucky I didn’t kill you off in the woods when I saw you. Maybe that would have been the easiest way out for you, I guess."

Aya shivered in fear as she stared at him, shaking her head. "No, it’s not like that... I didn’t mean it that way..."

"You don’t have to explain anymore. I was lenient enough to keep a fox alive till now. You should be grateful. But you kept playing the game, and now I’ve won. So what’s my reward?"

She approached him and held Eris by the hand. "No. Don’t misunderstand at all. Even though I did it, I was forced to do it. The tribe forced me... But I’m genuine about it. My feelings for you are true. I mean, I like you a lot and would like to spend the rest of my life with you. We’re from the same tribe after all, so we’ll understand each other more. So let’s stay together, okay?"

Eris cast her a cold glare—a glare of someone who could easily kill without a second thought. It was one of the scariest glares Sunnie had ever seen from Eris.

Eris scoffed. "And what makes you think that I still want anything to do with anyone from that clan?"

"You have to believe me. I don’t think you’re a monster like them. I’m in support of you. I truly do so."

"If I had the opportunity, I would kill off anyone from that tribe. So you shouldn’t push your luck any further if you want to stay alive." He smiled. "Coming here to steal foodstuff... you think I didn’t know your plans from the first day? You really did overestimate yourself."

"And..." Eris gasped as he stepped backward. "Don’t ever talk about liking me at all. I already have a mate, and I’m not sharing my affection with anyone except her. So don’t disgust me with those words, unless I’m going to make sure I cut off your tongue and feed the remaining part of you to the wild beasts."

As he spoke those words, Aya stiffened as she held herself firmly. She felt shivers run down her spine as she stared at him in fear.

Eris sighed as he placed both hands behind him. "Your face disgusts me already. I’m sick and tired of playing along with it. It made my mate angry, so I’m not playing along anymore."

Aya shook her head. She could tell it was already over for her. She knew she couldn’t stay here. She had to leave, and so she immediately turned and ran off to escape.

But she couldn’t even get that far. Zayn and Karl effortlessly caught her and brought her down to her knees, holding her firmly. She struggled to leave but to no avail. She was firmly held down with no other choice.

And Eris stood there staring at her with a a cold ruthless smile. "You think you can escape?" He smiled. "Well, dream on."
