Chapter 242: Chapter 242: Wipe Out Fish-Man Street!
Top-tier combat power.
Before he encountered a truly top-tier fighter, Neptune had always believed that no matter how powerful so-called top-tier combatants were on the surface, they could not interfere with the deep sea. This was forbidden territory for humans. This was the domain of ocean life and the fish-men.
However, when a true top-tier fighter appeared before Neptune’s eyes, he realized he knew nothing about real power.
The strong were always strong. Whether in the sky, on land, or in the depths of the sea, the strong were not beings the weak could defeat.
In fact, if the Marines truly intended to move against Fish-Man Island, sending any one Marine Admiral would be enough to flatten the entire island.
Whether it was former Marine Admiral Aokiji, Kuzan, whose terrifying freezing power was strong enough to freeze the sea, or Sakazuki, who had overpowered Kuzan in the battle for Fleet Admiral and become the new Fleet Admiral, their power was overwhelming. With Devil Fruit abilities capable of changing terrain and weather, they had more than enough strength to destroy all of Fish-Man Island in an instant.
Or take the current Admirals, Fujitora and Ryokugyu.
Fujitora’s power was even enough to pull Fish-Man Island from the bottom of the sea up to the surface. Ryokugyu, meanwhile, could cover all of Fish-Man Island in vegetation and turn it into a death zone filled with life.
These terrifying and powerful fighters far exceeded Neptune’s imagination. He knew nothing about true power.
More accurately, the naive idea that top-tier fighters could do nothing to them as long as they hid at the bottom of the sea was a belief shared by every frog in a well who had never gone out to sea, never seen how vast the outside world was, never encountered a top-tier fighter, and never understood the strength of those terrifying combatants.
That was also the fundamental reason why the mere New Fish-Man Pirates, with only ten thousand members, dared challenge Jovian, a Marine Admiral.
"Hey! You still haven’t answered my question, fish-man!"
Jovian stomped hard on Hody Jones’s head and asked in irritation.
"Ah..."
However, Hody Jones, who was being crushed beneath Jovian’s foot, had already rolled his eyes back. Bright red blood was constantly pouring from every opening on his face. He had completely lost the ability to fight.
"Huh?"
"He passed out already?"
"That’s it?"
Jovian looked down at Hody Jones in disdain. This bastard had suddenly rushed out, so Jovian had thought he might actually have some strength. Who knew he was just trash?
"That face..."
Jovian looked Hody Jones’s face up and down, thinking.
"Isn’t he that drugged-up fish-man who got beaten senseless by King Luffy in the original?"
"Heh..."
"How stupid."
Jovian seemed to remember this fish-man’s identity. In the original story, he gathered one hundred thousand fish-men, planned to rule Fish-Man Island, then declare war on humanity and head to the surface to seize the title of Pirate King. How ridiculous.
They were nothing more than one hundred thousand salted fish. What great thing could they possibly accomplish?
Never mind the Marines, who had top-tier fighters like the Three Admirals and Fleet Admiral. Even among the sea emperors in the New World, which one of them could be overwhelmed by numbers alone? Did they really think the emperors’ Conqueror’s Haki was fake?
"Boss!"
Just as Jovian prepared to end the life of the fish-man beneath his foot, a killing shout rang out, and tens of thousands more fish-men quickly swam toward him.
"I’ll give you a little praise."
"At least you fish-men are worth praising when it comes to unity."
"Now, goodbye."
Jovian looked at the fish-man army and smiled faintly. Then he raised his leg and stomped down hard on Hody Jones’s head.
"Splatter!"
With a sound like a watermelon being crushed underfoot echoing through the water, Hody Jones’s head vanished, replaced by a mess of watermelon pulp across the ground.
"Boss Hody Jones!"
The fish-men watched Jovian directly stomp Hody Jones to death and roared one after another. Tears streamed down their faces as they rapidly closed in on Jovian.
"Time for a little exercise."
Jovian rolled his neck. He was ready to teach these fish-men a proper lesson.
"Boom!"
After warming up, Jovian shot forward like a torpedo, instantly slicing through the current. At a speed surpassing even fish-men moving underwater, he swam straight toward them.
"What?!"
The fish-men stared wide-eyed at Jovian, who had displayed astonishing physical ability and was even more agile underwater than they were.
"What are you standing there for?"
Before the fish-men could react, a blur flashed past. The bodies of several dozen fish-men at the front instantly burst apart, and blood filled the sea floor.
"Boss!"
Countless fish-man thugs shouted in shock as they looked at the dozens of fish-men who had been instantly crippled.
"You still have time to worry about others?"
"Worry about yourselves, you stupid fish-men!"
Jovian looked at the little fish-men staring worriedly at the fish-man leaders he had smashed apart, and waves of scorching red light began shining from his eyes.
A terrifying temperature kept rising at the bottom of the sea. His burning gaze lit up the ocean floor with two scarlet points of light.
"Goodbye, fish-men."
"Hiss..."
As Jovian spoke, the heat vision that had finished gathering power in his eyes burst out instantly.
Scarlet light illuminated the sea.
Red ink dyed the sea.
When everything disappeared, only countless remains proved that a battle seemed to have happened here.
Across the sea floor, countless fish-men missing parts of their bodies and constantly spilling ketchup gasped for breath. They knew now that they had provoked someone they absolutely should never have provoked.
The enemy’s strength was far beyond their imagination.
"Rumble..."
Just as the countless fish-men in Fish-Man District thought they had luckily survived, a dark shadow covered all of Fish-Man District.
"That’s..."
The fish-men raised their heads and looked above them, despair appearing on their faces.
They recognized that shadow. It was the legendary treasure ship Noah. It was the unfinished ship. It was the ship of promise, the great ship that had been stored in Fish-Man District for all these years.
"Don’t think I’m just going to let you bastards off!"
"There’s no such thing as surviving a disaster."
"If you survived, that only means the disaster hasn’t truly arrived yet!"
"Today, your disaster has come!"
Jovian looked at the fish-men kneeling before him across the ground and slowly threw down the ship in his hands.
"Ah! Great God!"
The fish-men raised their heads and looked at the enormous treasure ship, thinking of the legendary promise.
"Boom!"
With a massive roar that shook the entire sea floor, all of Fish-Man District was reduced to ashes beneath the massive ship Jovian had thrown down in rage.
From that moment on, Fish-Man District became history.
"Head for Ryugu Palace."
After doing all of this, Jovian returned to the warship. At that moment, besides the captured pirates, the warship also carried some orphans Jovian had found in Fish-Man District. In that law-of-the-jungle place, these orphans had been at the very bottom, living days where they could not even get enough to eat.
Although Hody Jones claimed he had inherited Arlong’s will and wanted to establish a brand-new fish-man pirate crew, in reality, there was still an essential difference between Hody Jones and Arlong. Arlong was extremely hostile to humans, but he treated his own people well. Hody Jones, on the other hand, treated even his own people according to the rule of the jungle. If Arlong could be considered a decent person among fish-men, then Hody Jones was nothing but a terrorist through and through.
That was why Jovian had planned from the start to send all these children to Neptune and make the Great Knight of the Sea take responsibility. After all, they were Neptune’s citizens. As the king of Fish-Man Island, he had at least some responsibility for them.
Not long after Jovian flattened Fish-Man District, squad after squad of soldiers dispatched by Neptune arrived at the scene. They stared wide-eyed at Fish-Man District, which had vanished completely.
"Are you kidding me?"
"Fish-Man District..."
"That lawless zone filled with countless villains actually disappeared?"
One fish-man soldier after another stared at the vanished Fish-Man District with shock on their faces.
"According to Boss Jinbe, up on the surface, there are people who can make volcanoes erupt, freeze the sea, fill heaven and earth with laser rain, summon storms, create earthquakes, and even transform into dragons from legend. These powerful people can move mountains, fill seas, and destroy heaven and earth, like natural disasters themselves! I thought those were just stories! I never thought they were all true!"
The fish-man soldiers were deeply shaken by the sight before them. When they had originally heard Boss Jinbe tell them stories about the land, they had treated it like a stand-up comedy routine. But in reality, what they had never expected was that every story Jinbe had told them was true.
"Too terrifying! This is really too terrifying!"
"No, we have to report this to His Majesty immediately!"
"We absolutely cannot go against monsters like this!"
The fish-man soldier’s face was filled with terror. When he thought about what would happen if Neptune were to face a monster capable of destroying heaven and earth like that, he felt indescribable fear.
That monster could use a giant warship to smash Fish-Man District. Maybe that monster could also use an island to smash Ryugu Palace, or even Fish-Man Island. If something like that happened, the consequences would be unimaginable.
The very thought of it filled him with terror.
"Damn it! This absolutely cannot happen!"
The fish-man soldier muttered with a terrified expression.
Meanwhile, the Marine warship had already arrived at the entrance of Ryugu Palace.
"Who are you?"
The soldiers of Ryugu Palace looked at the unfamiliar warship before them and asked.
"Marine Headquarters Admiral."
Jovian stood on the deck of the warship, yawning as he replied impatiently.
Because Jovian’s hearing was exceptional, he could hear the words these fish-men spoke. However, these fish-men could not hear the words coming from Jovian’s mouth.
Faced with the unfamiliar warship, the fish-men all picked up their spears and surrounded the warship Jovian was on.
"Ah..."
"They can’t hear me?"
Jovian looked at the fish-men surrounding them and sighed helplessly.
"Reporting, Admiral! We’re surrounded!"
A Marine looked at the fish-men surrounding them and reported to Jovian.
"Do you think I’m blind?"
After hearing his subordinate’s report, Jovian sighed helplessly and asked.
"Uh..."
"No..."
Hearing this, the Marine panicked and quickly shook his head.
"Honestly. Everything you can see, I can see too."
Jovian patted the Marine on the shoulder and walked to the very front of the deck.
"Inhale..."
Then Jovian took a deep breath.
"This is..."
A sharp-eyed Marine saw Jovian make that movement, and his expression immediately changed. He turned around and shouted at the people behind him, "Everyone, cover your ears! The Admiral is about to shout!"
"What?!"
Hearing this, the Marines all covered their ears.
"Neptune!"
"I am Marine Admiral Jovian!"
"I’ve come to visit!"
"Roar!"
Jovian stood on the deck and roared with all his might. The terrifying sound wave directly passed through the transparent bubble coating and entered the seawater. The terrifying sonic wave slammed straight into Ryugu Palace, making the palace shake constantly. That powerful sound wave seemed as if it were going to collapse the entire palace.
As for the fish-men surrounding Jovian’s warship, they were blasted by the sonic wave roaring from Jovian’s mouth until their eyes rolled back, foam spilled from their mouths, and they fainted in the seawater.
"Whew..."
As the brilliantly lit Ryugu Palace flickered between bright and dark, swaying unsteadily in the water as though Jovian’s roar might tear it apart, Jovian finally stopped shouting and let out a long breath.
"Uh..."
As Jovian stopped shouting, the constantly trembling Marine warship finally settled down as well. One Marine after another on the warship clutched their ears, faces filled with terror.
"All right! Now no one is blocking us. Advance!"
Jovian turned around and smiled lightly at the Marines behind him.
"Advance!"
After receiving Jovian’s order, the Marines stood upright and spoke nervously.
"Whoosh!"
With a whistling sound, the Marine warship entered Ryugu Palace.
"A Marine Admiral?"
"Has he come to kill us?"
"It’s over, it’s over, it’s over..."
Neptune looked panicked. He had just received the report that Fish-Man District, which had troubled them for years, had become history. He had originally planned to properly entertain this honored guest from the World Government, the legendary Marine Admiral who represented the World Government’s greatest military power. But before he could do anything, the Admiral had already arrived, and he had arrived with his domineering presence fully exposed and clearly bad intentions.
This left Neptune deeply troubled.
"Boom!"
Just as Neptune was feeling deeply troubled, the doors in front of him were slowly pushed open, and a group of warriors in Marine uniforms walked in.
Meanwhile, at the Hard-Shell Tower.
The incomparably sturdy doors were slowly pushed open.
"Hm?"
Princess Shirahoshi, who was lying inside the tower, saw the sudden light and opened her sleepy eyes.
"Yo."
"You’re the Mermaid Princess, right?"
"Want to go out and play?"
When the enormous Mermaid Princess opened her eyes, she saw a handsome man dressed in white reaching his hand toward her.
"Mm!"
Although Shirahoshi did not understand what exactly had happened, the moment she heard she could go outside, she nodded heavily.
She really wanted to go out.
