Chapter 190: One Person....?
Owen was merely sleeping at night in Country B after his day shift. These days, he had been too busy with the new branch of the Harrisons to even sneak a call to Abigail and ask whether she was alright. Thus, he didn’t even know whether the relationship between the two of them had taken another leap or not.
But since she didn’t call him, he could safely assume that she was perhaps fine. Thus, he slept without any burdens. But very early in the morning, he suddenly felt like his head was splitting apart as if something or someone was hitting it with a hammer. It took him a while before he realized his head was bursting with a lot of unwanted memories that clearly didn’t belong to him.
It belonged to.... Asher and Nicholas.
He kept lying on the bed in utter shock as he tried to process what had happened. He let himself immerse in those memories, the intricate process that took about an hour of his morning routine.
When he was finally done processing, he opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling, slowly repeating the things he had realized.
It turned out.... He, Asher, and Nicholas were all but one person.
It turned out.... Both of them had died terribly for some reason because of their connection with Abigail.
It turns out.... Despite the fact that Rebecca died, the main villain somehow was still alive. This time, he finally found out that his original idea about how the villain had a supernatural aspect to help her commit crimes wasn’t really false.
It turns out.... Abigail’s life might still be in danger for he didn’t know whether she was alive or not. He scanned Nicholas’s memories of when he died, smiling at Abigail. For some reason, that memory hurt Owen so much that he could barely breathe.
He lay on the bed for a while to calm himself and pushed himself up.
Should he call her?
No.
He might end up alerting the serial killer because of that. Right now, he didn’t even know who that girl actually was who killed both Asher and Nicholas, two elites at that.
Surely, at this time, the Harrison corporation would go through tremendous change now that Nicholas had died. But that has nothing to do with him. He was now Owen, a psychiatrist. Not Nicholas and neither Asher.
Since he could learn people’s minds easily, he wouldn’t throw himself into the fire and make things difficult. To catch this villain, he has to lay a trap, and who would it be other than Abigail herself?
Thus, he would have to get closer to her without arousing the villain’s attention, and at the same time, find out who the killer actually was! Since that killer could kill Nicholas so fast right after getting rid of Asher, it could be that the villain was probably a person closer to Abigail.
Secondly, now he finally realized that the villain probably had some grudge against Abigail. Otherwise, why would that girl kill everyone except for Abigail? It was clear that the former wanted the latter to suffer extreme pain related to heart so much that Abigail would think dying was better than living.
Owen stood up abruptly.
It was time to return to the country.
Thus, he asked his assistant to book a flight as he packed his bags in a hurry and got ready for the flight.
By the time he landed and headed to his home, it was already evening. Since he didn’t want the killer to be aware of his situation, he decided to search for Abigail secretly.
But it turns out, he didn’t even have to hire a detective anymore. The moment he turned on the television, he saw Nicholas on the side of the screen as the news reporter said: "The most handsome and top CEO was found dead today, and the suspect was also caught along with it. All the evidence goes against his own wife who has been also sent to the hospital for medications.
"It turns out that Mrs. Abigail Harrison was suffering from extreme Bipolar disorder, and in her fit of anger, she ended up trying to kill them both. It was Rosa, Nicholas Harrison’s mom who found the two of them and was angry at her own daughter-in-law for doing such a thing.
"Even up until now, we haven’t been able to get a statement from Abigail, but we have good news that she has woken up. We are still looking forward to taking a look at the criminal who killed her own husband so brutally and also tried taking her own life by electrocuting herself to death. Reporting live, from Harrison’s Hospital."
Owen released the breath he was holding. It turns out, she was already in the Harrison hospital. It would definitely make it easier for him to contact her.
But he frowned.
From what he knew, Rosa wasn’t the kind of person who would doubt her own daughter-in-law at such a time. He had seen her a couple of times, and from what he knew, she doted on her daughter-in-law more than Nicholas himself.
So if she were really the original Rosa, she would definitely protect Abigail instead of giving her up to the media and police, and make a fuss about it in the public.
Owen’s eyes narrowed as he thought for a while. He had already guessed in whose body the killer was there right now. But he wasn’t in a hurry to capture here. Since Abigail was already declared sick, wasn’t it his duty as her official doctor to diagnose her thoroughly and make the statement that she needed to stay at the hospital at all times?
The corners of Owen’s lips curved up as he finally pulled out his phone and made a call to his superiors in the hospital. They all knew about this news, but none of them had enough time to contact Owen about what had happened.
Now that he called, all of them gave a sigh of relief because Owen, being Abigail’s psychiatrist, could handle her situation better than anyone else.
