Chapter 191: All Alone....
By the time Abigail calmed down, she had already learned of her situation. Honestly, she should have expected that woman to torture her thoroughly. If it wasn’t enough to kill everyone around her, she even planned to send her to the hotel under the garb of being mentally unstable.
For the first time in her life, Abigail realized she made a grave mistake trusting someone and telling them about her condition. She really thought Rebecca was her friend. But it turns out...
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she continued lying on the bed. Ah, one more thing. Due to excess electrocution, her entire body was rendered so weak and helpless that she wouldn’t be able to move a single step for the entire month.
Of course, it also meant that he wouldn’t have to face the court so soon, but the terrible news was that she didn’t have anyone to turn to.
But why should she even turn to anyone for help? It wasn’t like she had anyone to live for anymore.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she silently sniffed.
Without her voice, she didn’t know for how long she would be able to survive anymore. Even the doctor raised their hands and said that they would never be able to help because her vocal chords were electrocuted and the rest of the bit was done when she screamed like hell, damaging her chords permanently.
Thus, even though she wanted to prove her innocence, she didn’t get a chance anymore because of her situation. Neither can she move herself nor can she speak.
In such a helpless situation, she only stared at the glucose bottle stuck to her hand with a syringe....
It would be fine if a bubble of air passed into her blood vessels and killed her on the spot. Doing that, she would at least be able to leave this place. What was the use of living and suffering like this without having done anything?
Sure, she wrote that novel, but who would have thought that the novel’s contents would come out to be true some day?!
She stared at the glucose bottle without blinking, wishing that the nurses would forget to change the bottle or turn it off.
Sadly, just when it was about to end, a nurse came forward and changed it right on time, making Abigail feel dissatisfied in her heart.
She pursed her lips and averted her eyes, glancing outside the window in a daze.
Why was she so damned unlucky when it comes to love? First, her own doctor couldn’t be approached and thus, she wrote novels to get over him. Second, when she transmigrated and finally fell in love with Asher, he died. Then even Nicholas whom she loved to get over Asher also died.
Maybe.... Maybe she shouldn’t fall in love in the first place.
These past few hours, the reason why the nurses were so sympathetic with her was because she had a mental sickness and her condition was too fragile. So even if they wanted to, they couldn’t vent their anger out on a weak and helpless little woman.
Thus, even though they showed sympathy and helped her treat, that was it. They wouldn’t really show her real trace of humanity and try to listen to her even when they all clearly knew that she had bottled up a lot of things to speak.
Just then, the door of the room she was staying in was opened instantly as a familiar man walked inside wearing his doctor’s coat. Seeing him Abigail’s eyes widened as she stared at him in a daze.
Owen.... How long had it been ever since she had seen him?
Her eyes teared up instantly seeing the man as if she had just seen her savior.
On the other side, Owen, despite looking all cool and gently from the outside, his heart was breaking seeing her condition. It seemed that not only memories, but even their emotions came inside him, mixing in with the already available emotions he had for Abigail, which made it a hundred times intense.
He actually had to fight hard to keep his tears inside as he took a deep breath and walked forward. At this time, he couldn’t let Rosa know about what he was feeling. He had to show them that he was on their side, and unintentionally, he knew he would end up hurting Abigail through the process.
But if he wanted to save her life....
Owen took a deep breath once again as he walked forward and patted Abigail’s hand that was frozen and couldn’t move. He sighed and said, "Abigail, what you did was terrible. I never thought you would end up escalating your situation to such a terrible degree. Didn’t you take the meds I gave you?"
At this time, Rosa, who had followed the psychiatrist inside, heard those words as she scoffed. See, even the doctor is now taking her side.
Abigail’s eyes widened upon hearing those words. She shook her head as more tears fell down her cheeks, and she even tried to speak, but no matter what, words wouldn’t come out of her throat.
She met the man’s eyes, but she failed to see Owen’s desperation upon speaking those words to her. She was so immersed in her own emotions that she restlessly looked at him for a while before closing her eyes in resignation.
Now, even Owen seemed to have turned his back toward her.
The man who looked at her expression immediately understood what she was thinking about. His heart sank, but he bit his lips and straightened his back and looked at Rosa, smiling at the older woman.
"Mrs. Harrison, you can hand her over to us. I was her original psychiatrist, and being a doctor, it was partially my fault to let her roam around freely. For now, I’d like to contain her under my wings and provide her medication before the court can offer some orders."
Rosa knew this should be the ordinary procedure, but she could no longer wait. She looked at the status on the transparent window that showed Abigail’s depression stats closing in on 20 as a smile formed on her lips.
A little more and she would be able to achieve what she wanted to. Just a little more. But she knew she shouldn’t be hasty. After all, Abigail truly didn’t have anyone to help her right now. Even her own doctor was on her side. What else was remaining in her life?
Surely, even if Abigail were given a few days free until the court sends her to prison, it wouldn’t matter. Rosa had already played her cards well, and now it was time for her to receive the fruit of her labor. When the stats reach zero, she would finally be able to escape this hell hole and change her consciousness with that of Abigail’s, locking the original author here for her entire life.
Thus, she looked at the man and said, "Whatever. I don’t want to see her face anymore."
