Chapter 308: The Strategist of the Twilight Order

Arrogance was what came to her mind when Leon started speaking, and fear was what replaced that arrogance after he was done speaking.

The tone he spoke with. It was as if he had already seen the King fall.

When Evana City got back to its original geographical location out of nowhere, Eula’s shadows had informed her that the three Tower Heads were involved.

She did realise that for three Tower Heads to suddenly join hands at the same time meant they were up against something impossible.

But she had never guessed that it would be Dreamweaver, a literal Calamity.

It was clear to her that Leon was telling her the truth.

Because what reason would he have to lie by using a Calamity’s name?

Even so, following his strategy without knowing how he was doing it...?

’Heh. Isn’t that something.’ Eula thought to herself.

She had realized it now....

Leon, the one sitting in front of her, had indirectly declared to her, that he wants to claim the Twilight Order.

This attitude of his, it was what made him so boldly special.

’Maybe it was because he could actually do things at this level.’

This could be possible.

But...

Eula had no meaning of giving the Twilight Order to him. no matter who he was.

"And what makes you think I would agree to follow you blindly?"

Her deep ocean blue eyes did not waver off of him.

"If you think that is the case, then you are mistaken."

Leon smiled slightly at her response.

He had expected this.

Eula was not the type of woman who would surrender her empire because he had asked her to.

That was why he liked this character trait of her.

It was bcaus why he wanted her to live till the end.

"I never said blindly, hmm.... Let me give you a tip for free."

He raises one finger and said.

"Following a strategy without knowing every piece of it is not blind faith, Eula. It is discipline."

"Excuse me? you do realise you are asking a princess to have discipline under a boy who works under her organization."

She narrowed her gaze at him.

"Don’t get me wrong here, I am simply asking a strategist, to recognize another strategist."

"...."

Eula’s fingers stilled against the rim of her cup.

She hated how well he could turn every one of her jabs back at her

But she also hated that she could not deny what he was saying.

Every good strategist knew that sometimes the best move was to let someone else lead, provided they were more skilled at the particular situation.

The real question was...

Was Leon truly more skilled?

Well, he indeed have proven his worth several times.

The Tiara incident, the primordial demon, The takedown of Baron Vallahail’s, and now the formation of Evana kingdom.

Every single one of those events should have been beyond a boy his age, and yet he had walked out of all of them with the results he wanted.

Sitting across from her, now drinking the tea she made was Leon, who was refusing to reveal his methods.

’...Damn it.’

She was not going to hand him the Twilight Order, but she also was not going to reject him outright.

Because rejecting him would mean losing the only one she had ever met who could match her at her own game, and she was not follow enough to make that mistake.

She spoke evenly.

"Fine, I will follow your strategy for one operation. Remember, just onee."

Leon raised an eyebrow.

"Wait, just one?"

She nodded.

"Yep, just one." She smiled just a little, winking at him. "But if you fail even one member of my Twilight Order in this operation.Then this partnership of us will end, and I will handle the King myself."

Leon almost sneered.

"Hah, fair enough."

Eula returned back to her posture.

"Now on another topic, what exactly did you do at Ayaka’s ship? The report stated that there were pirates. And by the letter you sent to Ayaka through the captain, it says three names. Zade, Bronze Garther, and Captain Black Scar."

She narrowed her eyes slightly, and thought through.

"How did you exactly end up getting Black Scar’s name? He was one of the Seven Sea Constellations you know, what would he want from Ayaka’s ship? For what she told me, beside the Elven Core there was nothing in it."

"Who knows... they are pirates, its common for them."

Leon took a slow breath before answering.

He began to tell her about the incident.

He described how they had boarded the cargo ship near Karnak City, how the maids and staff on board had turned out to be pirates in disguise, and how Zade had come at them first with his blades, and Bronze Garther had appeared next.

It was Bronze who had told that it was Captain Blackscar who had ordered them.

Leon told her everything up to that point, but he kept the Shin Kataino part hidden from her.

He did not mention how the fight had escalated beyond a normal pirate raid.

But when Leon finished, she did not speak immediately.

She let out a soft hum after a moment.

"Hmm... That is odd."

Leon raised an eyebrow.

"Odd?"

"Why would he go that far? To kill everyone on board and hijack a single cargo ship. Out of all seven Sea Constellations. Black Scar was always the different one, his work never included killing innocents. Are you sure that was the name he gave?"

Leon paused before nodding.

"Yes. Captain Blackscar, I head it clearly."

"Then either the reports about him are wrong, or something changed for him recently."

She looked outside the window.

Leon followed her gaze, towards the full moon outside, illuminating bright purple.

She was now filing this away, that something inside the Twilight Order’s intelligence had been contradicted by the events at that cargo ship, and Eula being who she was, would not let it go unnoticed.

But what Eula did not know yet, was that beyond Bronze and Blackscar’s life as a pirates there was a much deeper and darker truth to them.

Both he and Bronze Garther, carried a fragment of Shin’s soul inside their bodies.

Leon heard a long sigh escaping from Eula’s mouth.

Her work load had been increased.

She turned her head to him.

"Anyways, Leon, are you free tomorrow?"

Leon blinked.

"Erm, I am... after class."

"Great."
