He didn’t really understand what kind of power the Divine Talisman would give him, but he knew whatever it offered would surely be overpowered. It was one of the highest possible rewards this trial could generate.

On the other hand, his new eye skill was also quite useful. It would let him see what other people were hiding. At the very least, it would help him see through the lies of strangers, which would surely help him survive situations involving betrayal by future companions.

As L focused on his own impressive status screen, he cast a quick glance toward Alen, who was still busy scrolling through his own notifications.

Suddenly, the space right beside them started to warp and heat up. A massive whirlpool of energy was pulled out from the atmosphere, and a rotational gate tore open through the fabric of space, creating a stable Dimensional Gate.

As the gate opened, the surrounding realm of challenge began to disintegrate. The trial was officially over.

Everything around them started to break apart into glowing light particles. The broken ruins, the altar, and the crushed ground floated up toward the sky and disappeared into thin air.

"Let’s go. We should leave now," L urged.

Alen pulled his gaze away from his status window and looked at the hovering dimensional portal.

He nodded in agreement.

L began to walk forward, stepping closer to the swirling energy of the Dimensional Gate.

As he reached the edge of the portal, he looked back over his shoulder. Suddenly, Ava’s resting body also started to shine. Her pale skin slowly turned into glowing light particles, beginning to disintegrate just like the surrounding realm.

"Ava... What is happening to you?" L asked, his voice tight.

Ava looked down at her hands, watching her fingers dissolve into warm light.

"It seems... my body is no longer going to exist... It seems the Ascension Realm will not let me go out into the real world," she whispered.

Ava looked at her fading form. There wasn’t any hint of deep sadness in her expression; there was only a quiet hint of regret.

"It seems I will not be able to walk my own path after all... I won’t be able to live a new life. It seems the chance I was given was just an illusion."

Her lavender eyes fell on L as she took a slow step forward.

"Thank you for helping me and hearing my story... I hope you will live well... And I hope that whatever problems you are suffering from right now will be solved soon..."

"I will pray for your well-being," she finished softly.

As L heard her genuine words, his cold gaze softened. He walked back toward her and wrapped his arms around her fading form in a gentle hug.

"I am sorry for attacking you earlier. I hope all your dreams are fulfilled in your next life..." L said quietly.

Ava looked surprised by his sudden embrace. She hesitated for a fraction of a second before raising her dissolving hand and patting his back gently.
