Chapter 981: Chapter 1008: My Princess (2)

"Where is he poor?" Windsor Myres said, speechless.

"How is he not poor?" Cherry Lewis blew a smoke ring and said irritably, "Two professors working their whole lives wouldn’t earn much money. How much could he leave you anyway? It must be tough to buy a villa in Cloud Capital, right? Are you going to live in a unit building in the faculty complex with him?"

Windsor Myres: "..."

Camden River’s family background?

She had never thought about this issue, but Cherry Lewis bringing it up made her feel very uncomfortable.

Windsor Myres frowned and said, "Don’t worry about my affairs, I know what I’m doing."

"You know what you’re doing?" Cherry Lewis was even more dissatisfied, looking at her irritably, "Your idea of good judgment is throwing wine at my guests during a restaurant tour? The assets I’ve saved up over half a lifetime would be squandered by you sooner or later. You won’t get a dime unless you find someone capable."

"I threw wine at someone?" Windsor Myres laughed angrily, "Why don’t you ask me why I did it?"

"Oh, with that kind of patience, thinking about taking over the restaurant? Women are already at a disadvantage in business. If every woman was like you, there wouldn’t be any women in the business world."

"You never stop nagging, I’m going to bed." Windsor Myres stood up directly.

Cherry Lewis grabbed her wrist and forced her to sit back down, saying directly, "What do you think of Victor Williams?"

"There’s no possibility between me and him, don’t even think about it. I’ve set my heart on Camden River, deal with it yourself."

"Deal with it myself?" Cherry Lewis laughed, "What good is having a daughter like you? You go and mess up the business, and can’t even find a man to make me proud. You’ve set your heart on him? Fine, fine, if you have guts, move out of the house. Let’s see how long you can last outside."

"Why should I move out?" Windsor Myres shook off her hand, "If you’re annoyed with me, you shouldn’t have given birth to me!"

"You brat!" Cherry Lewis got up angrily from the sofa.

Windsor Myres ignored her, stepped upstairs, and didn’t look back, keeping a cold face the whole time.

Fuming, she kicked open her room door.

Texted Camden River, "What are you doing?"

After a moment, Camden River replied, "Getting ready to shower."

Windsor Myres called him.

Camden River was holding his phone and quickly answered, speaking softly, "Are you home?"

"Yeah, I just had a fight with my mom downstairs."

Camden River paused for a moment, "What happened?"

"Nothing, that’s just how she is. Her own life is a mess, yet she always wants to boss me around. But never mind about her. What time are you leaving tomorrow? I want to see you off. I miss you." Windsor Myres softened her voice at the end.

Camden River paused for a moment, then said helplessly, "Go apologize to your mom in a bit."

"Huh?"

"You’re not a child anymore; don’t be willful at home. Your mom raised you alone, it’s not easy. Don’t upset her."

"..." Windsor Myres paused, covering the phone, then laughed and said, "Alright. I’ll listen to you. When are you leaving tomorrow?"

"My flight’s at eleven in the morning."

"Then I’ll see you off."

Camden River asked her, "You don’t have anything else to do?"

"You’re my only concern," Windsor Myres said softly. "Nothing’s more important than you."

"Okay," Camden River responded with a single word.
