Chapter 141: Nanny!
Bella.
It was everywhere.
No matter which news platform I opened or which social media page I scrolled through, the same story dominated every screen.
Every headline seemed determined to remind me of what had happened.
#LunaCeremonyUnexpectedDivorce
#LunaWolfAbilityExposed
Countless other headlines followed beneath them.
Every single one was accompanied by short video clips from the ceremony.
Guests had recorded everything.
The reporters had captured every angle.
Nothing had been left unseen—every embarrassing moment, every shocking revelation and every reaction were captured.
It was all there for the entire werewolf world to watch.
"Arrrrghhhhh!"
A frustrated scream escaped my lips as I gripped my phone tightly.
My thumb continued scrolling furiously through one post after another.
The more I watched, the angrier I became.
Why?
Why did she have to come back?
I had convinced myself she was gone.
When she disappeared, I truly believed she had quietly left our lives forever.
So why return now?
Why come back only to ruin everything?
The mere thought made my chest tighten with resentment.
As long as Ella remained around...the triplets would never truly notice me, because everything would always revolve around her.
I lowered my phone for a brief moment, my thoughts drifting back over the past six years.
For six whole years, I had carefully built my place beside them—I had comforted them, supported them and pretended to share their grief.
"I miss her too."
Those simple words had become my greatest weapon. Again and again, I had used them to draw closer to the triplets.
I did so slowly and patiently without raising suspicion.
It had taken years—years of effort, years of pretending and now...everything was falling apart because of Theresa’s return.
I clenched my jaw.
No. I refused to let all those years be wasted.
I wanted her gone—gone for good.
Only then would everything return to the way it was meant to be.
If Ironclad was ever going to have a Luna...that Luna had to be me amd no one else, especially not Theresa.
"Lady Bella."
A soft voice interrupted my thoughts.
I looked up to see one of the female servants standing a respectful distance away.
Her head remained lowered as she waited quietly.
"What is it?" I asked irritably.
For once, I didn’t even bother putting on my usual gentle smile. There was no fake kindness, and no warm expression.
The sharpness in my tone immediately made the servant flinch ever so slightly.
She looked nervous and I noticed it, but I couldn’t bring myself to care.
"The Alphas just called," she said cautiously, her voice careful, almost hesitant. "They asked you to call them immediately!"
I immediately rolled my eyes.
Why hadn’t they simply called me directly?
Then it suddenly occurred to me—my phone—I glanced down at the screen and the Do Not Disturb mode was still enabled.
Of course.
That explained everything.
I let out a quiet sigh. "Okay." I said, as I dismissed the servant with a small wave of my hand. "You may leave."
She bowed respectfully once more.
"Yes, Lady Bella."
Without another word, she turned and quietly walked away, leaving me alone once again with my thoughts.
I took a long, steady breath, forcing myself to suppress the frustration threatening to show on my face.
Getting angry wouldn’t solve anything.
I needed to calm down.
I needed to return to the cheerful, playful version of myself that everyone had come to know.
The version that smiled sweetly.
The version that never seemed bothered.
After composing myself, I unlocked my phone once more.
Without much hesitation, I scrolled through my contacts until I found Lawrence’s name.
Out of all the triplets, he was usually the easiest to deal with. At least, that was what I believed.
I tapped his number.
The phone barely rang before the call connected.
I straightened slightly, preparing to speak.
"Lawrence—"
The words died in my throat, as the voice that answered wasn’t Lawrence’s.
It was Lurgard.
"Bella." He said immediately, his tone hurried and almost breathless. "I need you to get some of Theresa’s clothes and bring them to the hospital..." He paused briefly, as though trying to steady his breathing. "...right now."
I froze completely.
For several seconds, I simply stood there with the phone pressed against my ear.
My mind struggled to process what I had just heard, and before I could even gather my thoughts...before I could ask a single question...before I could utter even one word...the call ended.
I slowly lowered the phone from my ear.
My eyebrows knitted together.
What the hell was that?
They wanted me to call them back...only to tell me something so ridiculous?
Seriously?
I wasn’t Theresa’s nanny.
Why should I be the one running around collecting her belongings?
There were countless servants in this mansion. Any one of them could have completed such a simple errand.
So why me?
The more I thought about it, the more irritated I became.
Was this supposed to be some kind of joke?
Or had they completely forgotten who I was?
The frustration that I had been trying so hard to suppress finally overflowed.
"Arrrrghhhhh!" I screamed loudly, my voice echoing throughout the room.
My chest rose and fell rapidly as I struggled to contain my anger.
It’s all Theresa’s fault.
If she hadn’t come back...none of this would have happened.
Why did she have to return?
Why couldn’t she have stayed wherever she had been all these years?
Then another thought crossed my mind.
The divorce.
Why did she divorce Alex?
That single decision had changed everything.
Now...the triplets no longer had any reason to stay away from her. Legally...nothing stood between them anymore.
The realization made my expression darken.
No. I refused to allow that to happen.
I slowly clenched my fists until my nails dug painfully into my palms and my jaw tightened.
"Enjoy it while it lasts, Theresa," I muttered under my breath, my voice cold and unwavering, as my eyes hardened with determination. "Because very soon..." A slow smile spread across my lips. "...I’ll get rid of you."
The words weren’t spoken out of anger alone, as they were a promise and I fully intended to keep it.
