Chapter 461: Where do all the Food go?

One wonderful late noon, the golden sunlight streamed through the tall windows of an elaborate room in the heart of Verdant Spire’s palace, casting warm, dappled patterns across the luxurious space.

The chamber was designed entirely for comfort and relaxation, with pillows, cushions, and coaches arranged in multiple places to accommodate any posture or preference.

Plush fabrics in rich earth tones and deep forest greens covered every surface, inviting those who entered to sink into their softness and never leave.

The air was filled with the pleasant aroma of roasting meats and fresh fruits, mingling with the subtle floral scents that drifted in from the gardens beyond the open windows.

Elara, Sakura, Titania, and Violette were resting on different pieces of furniture, each positioned for maximum comfort, but all surrounding an intricate wooden table that was the centerpiece of the room.

The table itself was a work of art, carved with delicate vines and flowers, and it hoisted an impressive array of berries, bananas, and some other familiar fruits.

The vibrant colors of the fruits created a beautiful contrast against the dark wood, a feast for the eyes as much as the palate.

Though, the fruits weren’t the highlights of today’s gathering by any measure.

It was the assorted roasted meats that filled the table to near overflowing that had captured everyone’s attention and appetites.

There were succulent cuts of monster boar, tender strips of rainbow deer, juicy portions of roasted cockatrice, and several other beast meats that had been prepared with herbs and spices from across the realm.

The meats glistened with their natural juices, steam rising from them in fragrant clouds that made mouths water and stomachs growl with anticipation.

Some servants occasionally walked in with additional roasted crops and fruits, or freshly caught game, as the queens unnaturally filled their seemingly bottomless bellies with an absurd enthusiasm .

The servants moved quietly, replacing empty platters with full ones, never once showing any surprise at the sheer volume of food being consumed by the royal women.

"Sakura, even you are eating like this?" Elara asked, making a face that was slightly embarrassed, her brow furrowed as she observed her usually more composed friend attacking a piece of roasted boar with ferocity.

The beast queen’s cheeks were slightly flushed, either from the warmth of the room or the embarrassment of being caught in such an undignified state.

"What?! The meat is simply too good to resist!" Sakura whined, swallowing a piece of chewed meat with visible effort before reaching for another piece.

Her usually elegant demeanor had been temporarily abandoned in favor of pure, unadulterated enjoyment. "Especially coming from you bunch who seems more uncultured than a poor nation! This is absolutely divine, and I refuse to apologize for enjoying it!"

"What was that about my village?!" Elara crawled over to Sakura’s side to playfully intimidate her, her voice sounding a mock threat that was undercut by the smile tugging at her lips. "We are very cultured and civilized than you all think. We used to have a standard kingdom with proper traditions and customs, before tragedy befell us and forced us to adapt to new circumstances."

"I know the story well enough," Sakura nodded, reaching out for another piece of meat without hesitation, her fingers closing around a particularly juicy strip of roasted cockatrice meat. "Pasithea was the queen at that time, yes? She led your people through the difficult transition period and established the foundations of what Verdant Spire has become today."

As Sakura and Elara continued their lighthearted conversation, trading barbs and shared history, Titania and Violette were erasing the meat on the table with serious, if childish, commitment.

Their hands moved with practiced efficiency, grabbing pieces of roasted meat and bringing them to their mouths with barely a pause between each bite.

The fairy queen’s butterfly wings fluttered occasionally with pleasure, while Violette’s larger frame seemed to absorb the food without any visible change to her figure.

"Hm?" Violette soon spared the two individuals sitting far away, at the side of the entrance, her eyes narrowing as she noticed their stillness. "Are you both not going to join us? The meat is truly heavenly, I swear it. You’re missing out on something truly wonderful if you don’t at least try a piece."

Rahab and Nyx only lounged on the ground, both wearing salacious garments that did little to hide their bodies, with matching collars on their necks that marked their current self-imposed status.

The collars were elegant but obvious, crafted from dark leather with different crystals at the silver ring where leashes could be attached; Nyx’s crystal being a deep, bloody red while Rahab’s was a cool, icy blue.

Despite their collared state, both women carried themselves with a clear dignity that seemed completely contrasting with their position on the ground.

"Our master has not given us permission to take meals from reeking strangers," Rahab raised her head arrogantly, despite being the collared one sitting on the floor, her tone ringing with a pride that appeared funny given her circumstances. "Not to mention, we do not need food to survive on a regular basis, so keep it to yourself."

"If you say so..." Violette shrugged and continued stuffing her face, apparently unconcerned by the refusal.

Soon enough, the meat were all devoured, the platters scraped clean of even the smallest morsel.

Then the formerly silent Titania raised a greedy hand, her butterfly wings fluttering with excitement, and yelled with unbridled enthusiasm, "Seconds! We want seconds! More meat!"

"You mean you want twentieths!" Elara snapped her neck towards the short fairy queen, her eyes narrowing with exaggerated suspicion. "Where do all the food even go? I don’t see a space in that small tummy of yours for even half of what you’ve already consumed!"

"How rude!" Titania covered her stomach in feigned embarrassment, her small hands pressing into the frilly layers of her dress as if protecting her modesty. "Haven’t you heard that a proper maiden have different stomachs for different dishes? It’s a well-known fact among those of refined taste!"

"A monster maiden, yes, that would explain it perfectly," Elara rolled her eyes, her gaze drifting across the room before it settled on someone else, her expression softening with fondness. "...See? I told you it was boring and exhausting with these lot. They never stop being ridiculous."

"Ahaha! No mother, it is actually quite fun to see that you’re not so stiff at ALL times!" The dark-skinned, silver-eyed, raven-haired lady with a bobcut giggled, her voice carrying a youthful warmth that brightened the entire room.

She was sitting opposite Elara, in a casual dress that wrapped her body in an "x" style, the fabric hugging her curves before flowing into a short, leafy skirt that swayed with her movements.

Her silver eyes sparkled with excitement ñand joy, and her dark skin seemed to glow in the late afternoon light.

"That’s the attitude, Tamar!" Titania chirped, fluttering her wings and flying over to the Amazon princess with obvious delight. "If you want to be like us, you have quite a lot to learn, my dear! But I think you have a lot of potential."
