Chapter 422: FATHER’S DAY SPECIAL 5: A Little too Tight
She was kneeling behind me in the warm water, her pale skin glistening with moisture, her bunny ears wet and drooping slightly.
Her eyes mety closed ones with their usual calm, unreadable expression.
"Tzadok-sama seemed to be stewing in thought," she replied, her voice as flat and emotionless as ever. "So I brought him back to Elyndor. You were drifting away, lost in your mind, and I thought a splash of water would be effective."
"Because simply calling my name would have been insufficient?" If I could open my eyes, I would have given her THE look — the one that made lesser beings quiver in fear and apologize profusely.
...But my eyes were still closed, so all I could do was let my voice carry the weight of my irritation.
The bathtub was not overly large, but it was wide enough for me and her to fit in comfortably.
More luxurious than large: the kind of bath that was designed for relaxation rather than grandeur, with smooth edges and warm steam rising gently from the surface of the water.
The tiles around us were polished to a soft sheen, and the faint scent of herbs and flowers hung in the air.
I rested my weight on her chest, she was behind me, her soft, small body pressed against my back as she rubbed my stomach lightly to clean me.
Her hands were gentle but thorough, moving in slow circles across my skin, their touch warm and soothing.

It was intimate, this closeness. A kind of proximity that would have been awkward with anyone else.
Unlike the majority of my siblings, Kynos always seemed to follow me around and acts like a faithful maid, ever since that depraved father of ours asked us to get along.
She was always there, always at my side, always ready to serve or assist or simply exist in my presence.
The rest of them either see me with immense respect, dislike, or just so annoying they would rather not have anything to do with me normally.
I am not easy to get along with, and I know it. My sharp tongue and sharper temper have driven away more potential friends than I can count.
Well, I will not lie and say I am not obnoxious. It is easier to be difficult and demanding than to risk being vulnerable and rejected.
"Kynos..." I called her name softly, my voice carrying a gentleness that I rarely allowed myself to show. Her hands paused on my stomach, waiting.
"Yes, Tzadok-sama?" Kynos replied, her voice soft and attentive, the kind of response that came naturally to someone who had spent years anticipating the needs of another.
She had recognized something in my tone, and her reaction was immediate and instinctive.
It appears she knew I was worried, so her hands tightened on my torso.
Her fingers pressed into my skin with a firmness that was meant to be reassuring, to convey support and solidarity through touch alone.
"..."
Uhm... A little too tight, actually...
I could feel the pressure of her grip, the strength in those small hands that I sometimes forgot she possessed.
She was not just a pretty bunny girl; she was capable of considerable force when the situation called for it.
"I normally do not want to do anything for that bastard..." I started. The words felt heavy on my tongue, reluctant to leave my lips. "But if it will help the others see him, if it will be an excuse to drag him down to Elyndor, I want to give it my all. I want to make this festival something that he cannot ignore, and that it forces him to acknowledge us, to remember that we exist and that we matter."
"...Are you sure you do not just want to see father again?" Kynos impertinently teased, her voice sending a knowing edge that made me want to squirm.
"Do not be stupid. Among the rest of you, I see him more often than not," I splashed HER some water to wake her up from the dream that I would crave that pervert.
The water hit her face with a satisfying splash, and I could hear her sputter slightly behind me. "I... just do not want to mess up and fail the others. They are counting on me to make this work, and if I disappoint them, they will never let me forget it. That is all there is to it."

"I think if it is Tzadok-sama, then the event is already a success," Kynos said, her voice warm and sincere despite the water dripping from her bunny ears.
Her legs wrapped around me from behind, pulling me closer to her body, her warmth seeping into my skin. "After all, Tzadok-sama is more or less father’s heir... And I am his beloved wife. Between the two of us, we can accomplish anything."
"Sorry, no incest," I flatly rejected her for the nth time.
It was a familiar exchange, one that had played out countless times before, and my response was as automatic as her proposal.
"Ehhh?! Again with this?" She began to thrash lightly, her body pressing against mine as she squeezed even harder, her grip tightening around my torso with insistence. "I am a woman, you are a man, what is the problem? I don’t see any! And step siblings do not count as incest! W-We are not blood-related! We are practically strangers who happen to share a father!"
"No means no! After all, our mothers agreed to not have their children marry each other, remember?" I turned to her a little, over my shoulder, my closed eyes facing her direction. "It was a pact they made long ago, and I have no intention of breaking it just because you have developed an inconvenient romantic attachment to me."
"Hmph. Our mothers are old fashioned, washed off and forgotten relics," Kynos coldly replied, her voice dropping to a dismissive register. "Let us carve our own path, Tzadok-sama! We do not need to follow the outdated rules of people who are not even young anymore!"
Ouch, on behalf of all our mothers.
"Very well. If you insist, I would reconsider after you have confessed a billion times," I waved my hand dismissively, not taking her seriously at all.
I mean, it was an impossible number, a goal that would take lifetimes to achieve, and I was confident that she would never reach it.
