Chapter 421: FATHER’S DAY SPECIAL 4: Are We Calling Our Sibling?
"That slut? We only see him once in five years. He definitely is not coming today," Tzadok folded his arms across his chest and huffed, his closed eyes scrunching slightly as if he were glaring at some invisible target.
His bright red hair seemed to bristle with irritation, and his posture radiated the kind of dismissive contempt that only a real twelve-year-old could muster when complaining about an absent parent.
"He probably forgot we even exist. But doing a Father’s Day festival held by his children... Hm..." He paused, his expression shifting from annoyance to contemplation, a thoughtful frown crossing his handsome features. "That might be a wonderful excuse to summon him, don’t you think? If we make it grand enough, if we create something that he simply cannot ignore, he might actually feel obligated to show his face for once."
Ash made an awkward smile, scratching his chin with one finger in a gesture of nervous discomfort.
His dark eyes darted away from Tzadok’s closed ones, and the mischievous glint that usually resided there had dimmed considerably.
"W-Well, let us not blame him too harshly. He is so far from mortals that he cannot afford to stay in Elyndor like a normal person. The gap between his realm and ours is vast, and crossing it takes a toll on him. Not to mention he has tons of work to do in the spirit world; responsibilities and duties that we cannot even begin to understand. He is not ignoring us out of malice or neglect. It is just... complicated."
"Excuses, excuses!" Tzadok picked up the grimoire from his seat, the heavy book cradled in his arms as he walked away from the hallway-like area and into the ornate living room.
His shoes padded softly against the high-quality vine-weave floor, and Kynos followed faithfully behind him, her peach kimono swishing gently with each step.
He continued; "I think he is just fooling around with his friends and having a blast while we sit here waiting for crumbs of his attention. He is probably laughing and drinking, or carousing while we waste our time planning a celebration for someone who does not even deserve it."
Despite the back and forth Tzadok presented, despite all his complaints, criticisms, and dismissive remarks, he decided to spearhead the festival and take over the preparations.

It was in his nature, after all: he could complain about the burden of responsibility all he wanted, but when it came down to it, he would rather be in charge than trust anyone else to handle things properly.
"Are we calling all our siblings?" Ash asked, already moving toward the window, ready to leave for the task.
His hoodie rustled as he shifted his weight, and his dark eyes gleaming with renewed enthusiasm at the prospect of gathering the family together.
"I suppose, yes," Tzadok answered, his eyes still closed, his voice carrying the weight of reluctant authority. "Some of them have duties and responsibilities that might keep them busy — important tasks that cannot be set aside for something as frivolous as a family gathering. But I believe the majority of us are brats with nothing much to do. Call those ones. The ones who have nothing better to occupy their time."
"B-Brats...? How rude! I definitely have responsibilities too!" Ash pouted, his lower lip jutting out in exaggerated offense.
He glanced at Zohar a bit, then amended his statement with a sheepish shrug. "Okay, some of us are brats. But not all of us! Some of us are productive members of society!"
"How rude!" Zohar snapped, her blue eyes flashing with indignation.
She planted her small hands on her hips and glared at Ash, her bob-cut light brown hair swaying with the motion.
Then she suddenly remembered something, her expression shifting from anger to excitement in an instant. "Oh, I met big bro Oak, Ash Thorn, and big sis Rowan at school today! They were there, walking around like they owned the place!"
"Oh, the titan siblings?" Ash perked at her, his eyebrows rising with interest.
The titan siblings were a topic of frequent discussion among the children — larger than life, powerful, and always seemingly involved in mysterious matters that no one else was privy to.
"Yes, they said they had secret business there, and father sent them to do something..." Zohar said, seemingly forgetting much of the big words and details she had been given.
Her voice trailed off as she struggled to recall the specifics, her brow furrowing in concentration. "Something about... a mission? Or maybe a message? I cannot remember exactly. It was a lot to swallow suddenly."
"Then it is better to assume they will not be coming..." Tzadok said, his voice flat and matter-of-fact. "They are clearly occupied with whatever task father has assigned them. That leaves the rest of us to handle the preparations. Except for the other three... the ones who are actually likely to show up and help."

Tzadok’s POV
Tsk.
Why do I have to do so much work for that pervert?! It is not like he appreciates any of it.
He probably does not even remember my name half the time.
Father’s Day, my foot!
He rarely ever comes to the material world, and when he does, it is always for some grand purpose that has nothing to do with us.

Why should I put in all this effort for someone who cannot even be bothered to visit his own children?
SPLASH!
"..."
That insolent bunny!
She splashed water on my face; a sudden, cold shock that interrupted my brooding thoughts and forced me back to the present moment.
"Why did you do that, Kynos?" I turned to the naked bunny who was supposed to be washing my back.
She was kneeling behind me in the warm water, her pale skin glistening with moisture, her bunny ears wet and drooping slightly.
Her eyes mety closed ones with their usual calm, unreadable expression.
"Tzadok-sama seemed to be stewing in thought," she replied, her voice as flat and emotionless as ever. "So I brought him back to Elyndor. You were drifting away, lost in your mind, and I thought a splash of water would be effective."
"Because simply calling my name would have been insufficient?" If I could open my eyes, I would have given her THE look — the one that made lesser beings quiver in fear and apologize profusely.
