Chapter 1349: Chapter 1364: The Troublemaker
"Alright, if you win, then whatever you say goes." Gao Ji said, trying to appear generous and dashing, hoping to impress Haihua.
Of course, if Gao Ji knew what Haihua’s real feelings towards Lin Mu were, he would realize his efforts were completely unnecessary.
"Okay, here’s the deal: if you lose, whenever you see me and Haihua, you have to take a detour. Agreed?" Lin Mu smiled slightly as he spoke to Gao Ji.
"Agreed." Gao Ji replied without hesitation. If he were to lose this time, he really wouldn’t have the face to see Haihua, nor could he stand tall in front of Lin Mu.
"Alright then, choose a place for our duel!" Lin Mu said.
"Right here, whoever ends up crawling on the ground loses." Gao Ji declared, confident in his fighting skills, much like his earlier confidence with drinking. Once upon a time, Gao Ji was unbeatable in all the alleys, a true street king!
Unfortunately, tonight he picked the wrong fight! Had he known he was facing the legendary Wolf Fang Soldier King, he would probably have been scared stiff!
"Okay, let’s get started then!" Lin Mu waved a hand at Gao Ji, eager to get on with it.
Gao Ji clenched his fists, ready to charge at Lin Mu, when suddenly the door swung open and a fat guy with a big head and big ears stumbled into the room.
"Come, come, drink." The chubby man wobbled in, glanced at the people in the room, grabbed a beer from the table, drank a few sips, then eyed Haihua, "Wow, a beauty. Nice, I like it."

This drunken fat guy started lunging towards Haihua.
Lin Mu was beside Haihua, ready to deal with the drunken fool. Just as he was about to act, Gao Ji leaped forward, kicking the drunken fat guy in the stomach. Originally, this kick was intended for Lin Mu, but the drunk’s appearance provided Gao Ji with an opportunity.
Such a good chance, Gao Ji wouldn’t let Lin Mu steal the spotlight, so before Lin Mu could act, he kicked the drunk fat guy, sending him flying out the door.
"Damn it, how dare you hit me! Just wait, I’m not done with you." The drunk fat guy landed outside, the shock bringing him to a painful sobriety. He pointed at Gao Ji with his stubby fingers, cursed a few times, and then stumbled away from the bar.
Clearly, the matter wasn’t over yet, but Gao Ji seemed very proud of himself for playing the hero-saving-the-beauty role. He spoke to Haihua in a boastful tone, "Haihua, are you hurt?"
"No." Haihua replied.
"Good, Haihua, don’t worry, as long as I’m here, I won’t let anyone harm you. If someone wants to hurt you, they have to step over my dead body first." Gao Ji said fervently, his protective intentions obvious!
Too bad, though, his goddess Haihua didn’t seem to care, or more precisely, she seemed completely indifferent!
If it were any other girl, she’d probably be moved to tears, thrilled that there’s a guy willing to give everything for her. Why hesitate? Offer yourself to him!
But for Haihua, she had already chosen a husband. That person was Lin Mu, and she found it hard to accept anyone else’s kindness, especially since she felt this man’s abilities were far inferior to her husband Lin Mu’s, not by a little, but by a vast margin!
"Don’t bother, Brother Lin can protect me too." Haihua waved her hand dismissively.
Gao Ji’s face darkened at her words, "Fine, let’s see if he can protect you or if I can protect you."
"Hehe." Lin Mu just chuckled at Gao Ji.
"Come on, let’s see if you can protect Haihua, or if I can protect Haihua." Gao Ji said, already prepared for a fight.
"Alright then, bring it on!" Lin Mu gestured casually.
Just as Gao Ji was about to charge forward, the door of the room was suddenly kicked open.
A group of rough-looking guys stormed in from outside, their aggressive demeanor almost like they wanted to eat someone alive. One glance and it was clear these men had been drinking, their clothes reeking of alcohol and smoke, each carrying an empty beer bottle.
"Damn it, who hit my brother just now?" The lead guy, with a cigarette in his mouth, arrogantly asked.
"I did. What’s up?" Gao Ji stepped forward without hesitation, aware he couldn’t back down now. If he chickened out now, he’d lose too much face! So Gao Ji spoke in a brazen tone, showing no fear as he faced these punks. Of course, Gao Ji was anxious inside since these people didn’t seem easy to deal with, but he had brought some brothers as backup, which reassured him a little.
Once Gao Ji stepped forward, his friends also stood up.
The leader glanced at Gao Ji, "So it was you who hit my brother?"
"Y-yeah, Big Brother, it’s him." The drunken fat guy said, no longer drunk, just a hideous fat man.

"That’s right, it was me. So what? What do you want to do?" Gao Ji was a bit nervous, but with Haihua present, he managed to hide his fear, defiantly facing the punks, delivering a heroic speech in front of Haihua!
But being a hero is not easy; it requires strength!
So, in the next second, with a loud "bang," a heavy sound of impact echoed as the leader, without a word, smashed a beer bottle onto Gao Ji’s head.
That blow knocked Gao Ji to the ground, blood slowly trickling down.
Gao Ji’s cohorts were stunned by the leader’s decisive action, standing utterly still, not daring to move a muscle!
"You dare challenge me, kid? You haven’t even grown all your hair yet?" The leader cursed, kicking Gao Ji a few times.
Gao Ji was nearly knocked out by the bottle blow, losing his ability to resist.
"Kick him hard!" The leader called to his crew, "I’ll take responsibility for whatever happens!"
With the boss’s orders given, the underlings wasted no time, launching a flurry of fierce kicks at Gao Ji. Lin Mu stood by, amused that he didn’t have to lift a finger himself, watching Gao Ji getting beaten up made him unexpectedly happy.
Is this the infamous schadenfreude? Haha, maybe so, but who could blame this guy for overestimating himself, always trying to act tough? Now he’s suffering, huh? A person like him needs a lesson, or he’ll cause bigger trouble someday, so teaching him a lesson was exactly Lin Mu’s intention!
