Chapter 509: Back To Academy

After some time.

The Arcadia Academy group finally returned to the Human Kingdom. Using the academy’s teleportation gate, the students arrived safely back to gateway hall.

The familiar sight of Arcadia Academy greeted them once again.

Everything looked exactly as they had left it only two days earlier.

After receiving a few final instructions from the professors, everyone dispersed toward their respective dormitories.

Amon slowly made his way back to his room.

Click.

He unlocked the door before stepping inside. The familiar room welcomed him with comforting silence. Without even bothering to remove his shoes, he threw himself backward onto the soft bed.

"Haah..."

A long sigh escaped his lips. His body finally relaxed after everything that had happened during the trip.

He folded one arm behind his head and stared quietly at the ceiling.

His thoughts slowly drifted through the countless events of the past two days.

"So many things happened..."

He smiled bitterly.

The smile slowly faded as he thought more about all the incident that happened with him since the start of the Academy.

His brows knitted together. A strange feeling settled inside his chest. For some reason. Arnold’s name refused to leave his thoughts.

Amon had always felt there was something unusual about him. Until now, however, he had ignored those instincts.

Life had been far too busy.

Between training, classes, practical exams, friendships, survival and countless unexpected incidents. He had never truly sat down to think about it.

But now lying peacefully on his bed. He began connecting the pieces one by one.

"He was involved."

He slowly narrowed his eyes.

"Almost every major incident somehow involved Arnold..."

He remained silent for several seconds.

"...Except for what happened yesterday in the Demon Kingdom."

That thought immediately weakened his suspicion. Amon rubbed his forehead. "...Maybe I’m just overthinking. It’s entirely possible."

He knew very well that coincidence existed. Not every strange occurrence had some hidden conspiracy behind it.

Still, he couldn’t shake away the uneasy feeling lingering in the back of his mind.

’He really looks suspicious. I still remembered Senior Selena’s words. How she wanted to take him to mistveil city for a mission. Because she was too curious about him. But he send me... and then I face that life and death incident.’

"He really feels like one of those protagonists...the useless young master who suddenly became a genius overnight."

He chuckled quietly at the thought.

"What kind of ridiculous novel am I imagining now?"

After another moment of silence...

He slowly shook his head.

"There isn’t any point thinking about it without evidence. For now I’ll put those thoughts aside."

He sat upright on the bed.

There was something much more important that demanded his attention. His expression became slightly serious.

’I need to meet Senior.’

More specifically Selena.

There was something he needed to discuss with her personally. Without wasting any more time, Amon stood up from the bed.

He adjusted his clothes before walking toward the door.

Click.

He left his dormitory room. Then he headed across the academy main buildings.

In search of his senior Selena.

---

Amon arrived outside the Student Council President’s office.

Before coming here, he had contacted Selena through the pager. She had informed him that she was still inside the Student Council office.

Even though today was Sunday. She was still buried in paperwork.

Amon couldn’t help but sigh. ’She really works too hard...’

For a princess who already carried countless responsibilities, she rarely gave herself a proper break.

Knock.

Knock.

He gently knocked on the closed wooden door.

"Come in."

Her calm voice came from the other side.

Amon pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The office looked exactly the same as always. Large bookshelves lined the walls, filled with countless books and documents.

Sunlight streamed through the tall windows, illuminating the spacious room.

At the center stood a large wooden desk.

Behind it sat Selena.

Her long silver-white hair was tied into a single braid that rested neatly over one shoulder. Instead of her academy uniform, she wore a simple long-sleeved white shirt, making her look much more relaxed than usual.

Even so, the calm and elegant aura surrounding her remained unchanged.

Across from her sat another young woman.

She had black hair tied into a loose ponytail and wore round glasses that gave her an intelligent appearance.

Several stacks of documents were spread across the table between them.

The moment Amon entered, Selena looked up from the paperwork.

"So..."

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

"You finally decided to visit me?"

She rested her chin on one hand.

"You didn’t even contact me for the last two weeks."

Amon awkwardly scratched the back of his head.

"Haha! Senior, I’ve been a little busy. Training and classes. And... other things."

Selena raised an eyebrow.

"Excuses."

She pointed toward the chair opposite her.

"Come and sit."

Then she narrowed her eyes slightly.

"I suppose you need something. You only call me when you have a request."

Amon gave an embarrassed smile before walking over.

Before he could sit down, Selena turned toward the woman opposite her.

"Risa."

The young woman immediately looked up.

"Yes, President?"

"Could you leave us alone for a while?"

"I need to discuss something privately with this junior."

"Of course."

Risa stood up immediately and bowed to Selena respectfully.

Then as she walked past Amon, her curious eyes briefly examined him.

She had heard plenty of stories about this mysterious junior whom the Student Council President treated differently from everyone else.

She quietly left the office before gently closing the door behind her.

Click.

Once they were alone, Amon sat down opposite Selena.

He leaned back comfortably before smiling.

"She was Vice President Risa, wasn’t she?"

"The one you always dum—"

He immediately corrected himself after noticing Selena’s gaze.

"...I mean the one you always ask to help with your work."

Selena slowly narrowed her crimson eyes. She clearly knew what word he had originally intended to use. ’Dump your work on her.’ She decided to ignore it. Instead, she folded her hands on top of the desk.

"So. What made you suddenly decide to visit me?"

Her expression became slightly more serious.

Amon also stopped joking.

"Actually I spoke with Scarlett yesterday."

Selena nodded quietly. "And?"

"She’ll probably come to the Human Kingdom next month."

He hesitated briefly before continuing. "So I was hoping you could help her enter the kingdom without any problems."

"And If possible without too many people finding out."

Silence filled the office.

Selena slowly placed the pen she had been holding onto the desk. She leaned back against her chair.

Then her expression completely changed. The warmth disappeared from her face. Her crimson eyes became cold.

"So shameless."

Amon blinked.

"...Huh?"

"Why should I help you?"

Her voice remained calm.

"What exactly do I gain from this?"

Amon stared at her silently.

She continued without changing her expression.

"Just because I treat you well doesn’t mean I’ll fulfill every request you make."

Her cold gaze remained fixed on him.

"Did you forget that I’m a princess? Did you forget your own position? You are a commoner. Or have you become so comfortable around me that you’ve started treating me like someone you can casually order around?"

Every word struck him harder than the last.

"Amon."

Her voice remained emotionless.

"I may treat you better than others but I hope you won’t misunderstand our relationship."

She folded her arms.

"And I expect you to show me the respect appropriate for my position."
