Chapter 510: Feeling Better Now?"

Silence filled the whole room.

Amon simply stared at her. His mind went blank. He wanted to say something.

Not even once had Selena ever spoken to him like this. The cheerful atmosphere they always shared disappeared completely. His heart felt strangely heavy.

Slowly he lowered his head.

If she was some random princess he was never close with, he hadn’t felt even little bit bad from her words. No matter what insult she had thrown at him.

His hands clenched tightly into fists.

"...I’m sorry."

His voice sounded quiet.

"I won’t act like that again."

He slowly stood up. Without looking at her again, he turned around. Then he quietly walked toward the door.

Selena watched him with the same cold expression.

’Damn! I really want to cry right now...’ Amon thought bitterly.

He slowly reached for the doorknob.

Click.

The door opened. Just as he stepped outside.

Grab!

Someone suddenly grabbed the back of his collar.

"Wha—"

Before he could react he was pulled backward with surprising force.

The door slammed shut again.

Bang!

A moment later Amon found himself sitting back in the same chair. He looked up in confusion.

Selena calmly released his collar before walking back toward her own chair. She sat down gracefully.

Then she let out a tired sigh. "For real?"

She looked at him with an amused expression.

"I honestly wasn’t expecting that reaction."

Amon blinked repeatedly.

Selena shook her head.

"Come on. I was joking. You seriously didn’t notice? I thought you’d puff your chest out and start arguing."

She suddenly changed her voice, perfectly imitating Amon. "Senior! How could you say something so heartless?"

She dramatically placed one hand over her big chest.

"You’ve wounded this poor junior with your cruel words!"

Her imitation sounded so accurate that even Amon couldn’t help recognizing himself.

She continued the performance for another second before finally stopping. Then she sighed once more.

"But you reacted completely differently."

She looked at him carefully.

"You looked like a lost puppy that was about to cry."

Amon immediately looked away.

"Hmph...I-I knew you were joking. So I just pretended to get really hurt."

He spoke with forced confidence. It was a lie.

Selena stared at him for several seconds.

Then she smiled knowingly.

"You liar."

She immediately saw through him.

"I’m sorry, Amon."

Her voice became much softer.

"I genuinely didn’t think you’d take my words so seriously."

"I wasn’t hurt."

He crossed his arms.

"I’m completely fine. Mhm."

Selena simply smiled.

"I totally believe you."

"..."

The awkward silence lasted only a few seconds before she suddenly spoke again.

"You have a lover now. If you didn’t, I’d probably have hugged you just now to make you feel better."

Amon frowned. He slowly looked back at her.

His expression became unexpectedly serious.

"Honestly... I don’t really mind. I mean it’s just a hug. What’s so wrong about that?"

Selena smirked.

"There, you’re finally back to normal."

She leaned back comfortably.

"That recovery was surprisingly quick."

She waved one hand dismissively.

"Don’t worry. I’ll help Scarlett. You don’t need to worry about anything. She’s from ducal family. She have big background. Even if you had not asked me, I had helped her anyways."

Relief immediately appeared on Amon’s face.

"Thank you, Senior."

He nodded gratefully. After a brief pause, his smile slowly faded. He lowered his eyes toward the floor.

Selena noticed the sudden change.

"What happened now?"

She tilted her head slightly.

"Aren’t you happy anymore? Or are you still angry because of my little prank?"

Amon slowly shook his head.

"No...I’m not angry."

He remained silent for another moment before quietly speaking.

"I was just thinking what you said wasn’t actually wrong. The way I speak to is wrong. I should be more careful with my words and the way I talk. You are a princess after all."

Selena looked at him with a completely deadpan expression. For a few moments, she simply stared at him without saying a word.

Then, with a quiet sigh, she rose from her chair and walked around the desk toward him.

Amon watched her approach with a puzzled expression. "What?"

Without answering, Selena stopped right in front of him. She raised one hand. Then she grabbed his cheek between her thumb and index finger.

She gently stretched his cheek before pinching it harder.

"Oww!! Senior!! Don’t!!"

"What do you mean, don’t?" Selena replied flatly while continuing to pinch his cheek.

"You’re acting strange today."

She narrowed her crimson eyes at him.

"This isn’t the Amon I know."

Amon winced in pain as he tried to pull away.

"But What did I say wrong?"

Selena looked at him as though he had asked the most ridiculous question imaginable.

"If I had actually hated the way you spoke to me I would’ve warned you a long time ago."

She gave his cheek another small pinch.

"So why are you suddenly questioning it now?"

Amon immediately realized what she meant.

"Oh! That! I’m trying to be more mature and stop acting like stupid. But I’m sorry!!"

Instead of forgiving him immediately. Selena pinched his cheek even harder.

"Owwww!!"

After making him suffer for another second, she finally released him.

"There."

She folded her arms.

"Good. Don’t say things like that again. You can be mature and smart with others. No need to be like that in front of me."

She turned around, intending to return to her seat.

Meanwhile, Amon rubbed his slightly sore cheek with a pitiful expression.

"Then..."

He smiled mischievously. "At least give me a hug."

"I’m hurt, you know."

He deliberately spoke in a joking tone.

After all he already knew the answer.

Selena was a princess. There was no way she would actually hug him. And since she didn’t mind the way he spoke, he decided to joke.

At least that was what he believed.

Selena suddenly stopped walking. She slowly turned around.

One elegant eyebrow rose slightly.

"Really?"

She quietly looked at him for a few seconds.

Then she sighed. "Hmm... I suppose I really did hurt your feelings today with that joke."

Before Amon could even respond.

She calmly walked back toward him. Then without the slightest hesitation. She gently wrapped both of her arms around him.

Amon’s eyes widened. His entire body froze.

His face was softly pressed against the warmth of her big chest.

A pleasant fragrance surrounded him. It was a gentle floral scent mixed with Selena’s own natural fragrance.

His mind instantly went blank.

"..."

Not a single coherent thought remained inside his head.

Meanwhile Selena gently rested one hand on the back of his head. Then she slowly stroked his hair with comforting, gentle movements.

Her calm voice carried a hint of amusement. "There...Feeling better now?"

Amon remained completely frozen.

His brain had already stopped functioning.

Between the unexpected hug the warmth. And the comforting scent surrounding him. He nearly forgot the real reason he had come to meet her.

After all helping Scarlett wasn’t the only thing he had wanted to discuss with Selena. There was another important matter he had intended to ask her about.
