Chapter 1225: Now It’s a Good Time
After sending Randolf back, Aldrian continued with his activities. However, he started thinking about something he had wanted to try for a long time.
Now that the Valroy family’s problem had more or less been taken care of, and everything in the First Heaven was going smoothly, it seemed like a good time for him to check out the higher heavens.
He spent some time visiting his thousands of followers from the higher heavens in the Guardian Palace. The moment Aldrian visited them, more than two thousand of his followers, except Bai Cangming, instantly gathered at one of the palace plazas.
"We greet the Great Emperor of All Heavens!" they shouted in unison while prostrating themselves.
The shout resounded across the Guardian Palace, making the others who heard it curious about the title.
Aldrian nodded. "Rise."
All of them then rose from their prostrating positions. Aldrian calmly swept his gaze across them.
The worship in their eyes showed that they would listen to and obey everything he said, which made him feel honored.
These were people who would die if he ordered them to die.
"My visit here this time is to tell you about our plan for the future. About how we should retake this universe," Aldrian said, causing their eyes to glisten.
Was it finally time for them to ascend? Had the time to strike back finally come?
"For the Second Heaven, the plan in my mind is quite simple. Once all of you ascend, you can wreak havoc on any of those invaders’ followers to your heart’s content. With your strength and power, I believe nothing will be able to stop you unless those invaders send many gods to the lower heavens," Aldrian continued.
"That’s why we need to see the situation in the Second Heaven first, and for that, I have already decided to ascend and investigate the situation myself. Once I understand the situation in the Second Heaven, we can begin the counterattack."
Hearing that, all of Aldrian’s followers widened their eyes in surprise.
"Your Majesty, are you going to ascend alone?" a beautiful woman with long blue hair asked.
Aldrian looked at her and nodded.
"Yes, I think—"
"No, please, Your Majesty, think again. At least bring some of us with you."
"No, Your Majesty, it will be too dangerous for you to ascend alone. We do not know what kind of tricks those invaders might use."
"Your Majesty, please reconsider! That is too dangerous. Bring me with you as your shield."
"Your Majesty—"
Even before Aldrian could explain his reasons, many of his followers were already voicing their disagreement and concern. They wanted to follow him to the Second Heaven.
Hearing their concern and loyalty made him feel warm, and after thinking for a moment about their offers, he also found it reasonable to bring some of them.
Initially, he wanted to ascend alone because he could move more freely and act with greater flexibility.
However, seeing all of them like this, he realized he had almost forgotten that these people were powerful cultivators capable of making those invaders struggle to fully occupy this universe.
They were cultivators far greater than those invaders or any of their followers, as each of them could face several invaders at the same time. They could help him if he needed anything.
Aldrian sighed and raised his hand.
"Alright, alright, I hear all of you, but I will not bring many of you. What we need at this time is speed and secrecy, as our main purpose this time is to learn about the Second Heaven’s situation. Two of you accompanying me is enough."
All of them instantly fell silent, their gazes showing how ready they were to be chosen by Aldrian. Every one of them hoped Aldrian would pick them.
However, Aldrian already had two people in mind as he looked toward two figures. They were two young-looking men wearing white and black robes, their identical faces showing that they were twins.
The one wearing the black robe had short white hair, while the other had short black hair.
They looked like harmless scholars, with fair and unblemished skin like women.
However, no one here would ever underestimate this pair of twins because of their harmless appearance. In fact, most of them would rather avoid becoming their enemies, as these twins were among the worst kinds of enemies one could have.
The twins were famous in the past because they were truly like invisible reapers, killing without anyone knowing.
Even gods were wary of them. When the universe was invaded, they became one of the greatest nightmares for those invaders. Anyone who became the twins’ enemy would never have a moment of peace, not even for a second.
That was because the moment they lowered their guard, death could arrive.
The bringers of silent death.
The Black and White Assassins.
The Twin Angels of Death.
They had many titles, but the title they were most known for was the Divine Reaper of Black and White.
"Zervan and Zarven, you will come with me."
The moment Aldrian said that, the twins’ eyes lit up while the others showed disappointment. The twins instantly kowtowed to Aldrian.
"We obey, Your Majesty."
Aldrian nodded with a smile and looked at the others.
"For the rest of you, there is no need to feel discouraged. Just like I said earlier, the main purpose of my ascension this time is to gather information. Secrecy and speed are the most important factors, and Zervan and Zarven are the most suitable people to accompany me."
The others understood that, and none of them retorted or voiced any dissatisfaction. Even if Aldrian had chosen someone else, they still would not have objected.
They considered Aldrian’s choice a divine decree that they did not dare question.
If that was Aldrian’s will, then they would follow it.
Seeing that no one voiced any disagreement, Aldrian nodded in satisfaction before looking at the twin assassins.
"We will depart the day after tomorrow."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Aldrian nodded and looked at the others once more.
"Now, let us talk about our universe, and I will tell you how I plan to reclaim it with your help. If any of you have opinions later, say them so I can take them into consideration."
Aldrian then spoke about the plans he had in mind to reclaim the universe effectively. The moment his followers heard his plans, they were astonished. Some were worried and wanted to object, while others truly admired and were amazed by his ideas.
They believed that Aldrian could accomplish it, and they only needed to trust in the being they already considered a god.
They did not want to apply their common sense to Aldrian.
Those who were worried voiced their concerns, and Aldrian answered them one by one until their worries were eased. Aldrian knew those people were only concerned for his safety, as they had never seen him in his past life as the Great Emperor or witnessed him in action.
After gathering with his followers and discussing the matter of the universe for several hours, Aldrian finally left the Guardian Palace and returned to his own palace.
He needed to tell his family what he was going to do. Although he still leave his avatars at the palace, they still needed to know where he was going, as this was something quite significant.
After all, he would be ascending for a while.
The first people he told were his parents. At this moment, his parents were inside one of the training rooms together with Celestina, Aderivan, and Eleine. Aderivan was in Eleine’s arms, watching his parents spar against each other.
Aldrey and Irene had already reached the King Stage for quite a while now.
The moment they spotted Aldrian, they stopped their spar and greeted their son. Celestina and Eleine also greeted him, while Aderivan showed his happiness upon seeing him.
Aldrian warmly talked with them for a moment before finally telling them about his intention to ascend for a while.
After hearing that, Aldrey and Irene sighed.
"Son, please be careful out there. Your enemies will only become stronger," Aldrey said to him.
"If you think it is too dangerous, then just escape. There is no shame in escaping and returning when you are stronger," Irene added in a worried tone.
Aldrian nodded with a warm smile. "I will, Father, Mother."
"Brother, can I follow you?" Celestina suddenly asked, stunning Aldrey and Irene.
"Celestina, your brother is going to a dangerous place. Do not become a burden to your big brother," Irene said in a berating tone.
Celestina froze, and her expression quickly turned sad as though she were about to cry.
"Celestina, you can come with me in the future when you are much stronger. This is my promise. Big Brother will bring you to places you have never seen before," Aldrian’s soothing voice resounded, causing Celestina’s eyes to light up.
"Really?" she asked.
"Of course. When have I ever lied to you?" Aldrian replied with a smile.
Celestina’s eyes glimmered before she nodded repeatedly.
"I will grow stronger so I can follow Big Brother in the future."
Aldrey and Irene could only sigh seeing their interaction.
"You pamper Celestina too much, son," Irene said.
"It’s okay, Mother," Aldrian replied.
Celestina truly liked how her big brother was always on her side, and she pouted at her mother afterward. Irene could only smile when she saw that expression, finding it amusing.
"Alright, I just wanted to tell Father and Mother about that. I will go tell Sylphia and the others," Aldrian said.
