Chapter 1224: The Valroy Family’s Situation

When Randolf gave his answer, Aldrian could sense that he did not entirely mean it. Deep inside, Randolf still held onto a trace of hope, or more accurately, doubt. When he ascended to the Second Heaven, he wanted to learn the truth himself and see whether what Aldrian said was truly real or not.

However, it could also be said that his heart had already begun to split apart with resignation. If the truth truly turned out to be exactly like what Aldrian had said, then he was already prepared to accept it.

For Aldrian, that was enough for now, and a smile finally appeared on his face.

"Good decision, young master. Now, I will send you back to your home. I hope we can maintain this amicable relationship in the future."

Randolf’s expression did not change much, but inwardly he was stunned.

Just like that?

Aldrian simply believed his answer and did not ask anything else?

But what shocked him even more was how his surroundings suddenly changed. In the next moment, he was already sitting in an entirely different environment. He was inside a familiar room within his family’s mansion, sitting in his own bedroom.

His heart trembled.

How could Aldrian do that? Even more shocking, Aldrian had sent him directly into his bedroom despite never once visiting the Valroy Family’s mansion before.

Was there a spy who had given information about the mansion to Aldrian? But even then, Randolf still could not understand how Aldrian had suddenly transported him here.

’Does his system give him the ability to transport any person to any place or something like that? But how is that even possible? How could he pinpoint the location he had never even visited before?’

The more he thought about it, the more mysterious Aldrian became in his eyes.

Aldrian’s system seemed to give him many abnormal abilities and powers, to the point that Randolf felt his own system was utterly pathetic in comparison. He had to admit that Aldrian was truly invincible with his terrifying strength and various mysterious abilities.

But soon, he pushed those thoughts aside and let out a sigh. Right now, he needed to inform his family about what Aldrian had told him.

To be honest, he did not truly care much about the Valroy Family aside from the fact that they had become a source of faith energy for Avergis. As a reincarnator, he did not possess any genuine attachment toward this family. Everything he had done until now was merely for the sake of completing Avergis’ mission.

However, he still felt that it would not be good if the family were to fall. If that happened, then his life here would become far more difficult. At the very least, he needed to prevent the Valroy Family from walking toward destruction before he ascended.

He stepped out of his bedroom with the intention of meeting his father, the patriarch.

However, as he walked through several parts of the mansion, he began to feel that something was strange. The usual liveliness throughout the mansion had greatly diminished. He could still sense some maids and butlers carrying out their duties, but he could no longer sense the guards or the hidden forces that usually concealed themselves throughout various corners of the mansion.

When he arrived at one of the hallways, he happened to meet one of the butlers, who looked astonished upon seeing him already return.

"Young master, you already came back?" the butler asked in surprise.

Randolf nodded.

"What happened while I was gone? Why do I sense a lack of guards?"

The butler showed a confused expression.

"Young master does not know about what the patriarch announced yesterday?"

Randolf narrowed his eyes. He could immediately sense that something major had happened.

"What happened yesterday?" he asked.

"The patriarch announced that our family has entered seclusion and will close its doors for an undetermined period of time. It caused a huge uproar everywhere," the butler replied.

Randolf was instantly astonished.

With his father making such a decision, it meant he was willing to let the Valroy Family’s influence decline. Closing the family’s doors for an indefinite period of time could easily be seen as a sign of weakness by many people. Others would think that the Valroy Family was afraid and had hidden itself within its own turtle shell.

With such opinions spreading around, many of the Valroy Family’s allies and business partners would begin distancing themselves from them. They would also gradually lose control over some of their territories while the influence of rival families slipped into those areas.

"And also, the patriarch ordered us to return to using the old cultivation technique and discard the cultivation technique that young master found. Because of that, many cultivators below the Immortal Transition Realm have already started to recultivate their cultivation."

Hearing this, Randolf’s heart trembled, and he became even more shocked.

"Except for most of the Immortal Transition Realm cultivators. They have entered seclusion while the patriarch provided them with resources to quickly rebuild their cultivation," the butler continued with a sigh.

"The family has completely turned upside down since yesterday. Many people wanted to protest against the patriarch, even the grand elders, but the patriarch remained extremely firm with his decision. Many wondered what made the patriarch suddenly decide such things, but no one dared to ask him."

Randolf’s eyes trembled.

He became certain that Aldrian must have visited the family yesterday!

Aldrian must have forced his father to do all of this, which made complete sense for his father to obey!

It was better to obey Aldrian than to watch the Valroy Family be destroyed.

"Where is father?" Randolf asked.

"He is in his workroom, young master."

Randolf nodded before continuing toward his father’s workroom.

Along the way, he encountered his little sister, Verine.

Her expression was filled with confusion and distress. The noble demeanor she normally showed to others was nowhere to be seen.

"Brother, you finally came back. Do you know what happened to the family since yesterday?" she asked hurriedly.

Randolf nodded.

"What are we supposed to do, brother? How could we just change our current cultivation technique back to the old one? Our current cultivation technique is much better and was a gift from our god, but father suddenly wants to change it. I don’t know why, but father must be under immense pressure for him to make such a crazy decision," Verine said in panic.

"Our family has also become a laughing stock because we closed the mansion’s doors and entered family seclusion. How could father do that? We will lose our status and power in this world." At this moment, she truly felt like crying.

Randolf felt too tired to answer her properly. Right now, he only wanted to meet his father to confirm whether Aldrian had truly come here and also discuss the family’s future.

"Just do what father said, Verine. That is the best course for our family," he said before continuing to walk forward.

Verine was stunned. Her eyes widened in astonishment.

She did not expect her brother, who usually appeared brilliant and capable of finding solutions to everything, to simply agree with their father. To her, that was no different from allowing their family to fall into decline.

"Brother, how could you—"

"Not now, Verine. I want to discuss something with father. Don’t add to my burden with your complaints," Randolf cut off her words.

Even his tone carried slight irritation, which completely shocked her.

Her eyes trembled as she could not believe what she had just heard. Her brother, who always showed a gentle side toward her and never once displayed displeasure in front of her, was now revealing a side she had never seen before.

Because she was too shocked, she could only stand frozen and watch Randolf’s figure grow farther and farther away before eventually disappearing from her sight.

She bit her lips as they trembled before turning around and walking in the opposite direction.

Randolf quickly arrived at his father’s workroom and knocked on the door to announce his arrival. Patriarch Elliot was truly surprised that his son had already returned without any announcement or prior signs.

"Randolf, are you okay? Did Aldrian the Great do something bad to you? You look sickly," Patriarch Elliot asked with concern.

"No, I’m fine, father," Randolf replied.

Fortunately, he had already healed his arms using healing pills, and the only thing remaining was his pale appearance that made him look like a sick man. He did not want to bring up how Aldrian had broken both of his arms.

Patriarch Elliot let out a sigh.

"Thank god you are okay. I thought something had happened to you." He then looked at Randolf seriously.

"Son, I want to discuss something important with you regarding our family."

Hearing that, Randolf immediately knew that his guess about Aldrian visiting his father yesterday was indeed true. So he immediately responded as well.

"Father, I also want to discuss something regarding our future. This is also related to our family’s survival, and from the looks of it, it seems we want to discuss the same thing."

Patriarch Elliot was stunned, but soon afterward, he let out a sigh.

"Alright, let’s hear what you want to say first, then I will tell you mine."

Not long after that, the two of them began telling each other what Aldrian had said to them yesterday. Of course, Randolf did not mention how Aldrian had broken his arms or how he himself had attempted to kill Aldrian.

Afterward, they discussed how they were supposed to move forward and what kind of plans they should make for the future.

In the end, they could only come to one conclusion.

There was no other choice besides obeying Aldrian.

"Aldrian the Great truly got us this time. It seems we have already been dancing in the palm of his hand for a long time without even realizing it," Patriarch Elliot commented.

Randolf remained silent as he leaned against the sofa behind him.

’Aldrian... I wonder if the other apostles could stand against him once he ascends.’
