Chapter 144: Chapter 88: It Takes Two
"Come on!"
Before Kate could react, Sopea, her face scrunching into a pouting kitten’s, grabbed him by the shoulder and dragged him into the room. The door slammed shut—SLAM!—followed by the CLICK-CLACK of the lock turning.
Sean and the other two were still arguing.
They had simply taken their argument from outside to inside.
Eliza had asked whose room they should use, and in the end, it was neither hers nor Sean’s, but Elvire’s.
A question with only two options was forcefully given a third answer by the girl, who was practically Bursting Qi.
Once they had all returned to their rooms, Yisha opened her door and poked her little head out, glancing left and right. After confirming no one was there, she beckoned to Koni inside, and together they tiptoed back to the small dining area.
A train was a public place, after all. Even in the VIP carriage, other passengers or staff might pass by.
Whether they would be disturbed was a secondary concern. The key thing was that the train wasn’t necessarily safe; someone had to keep watch.
’Besides, it’s just working on problems and chatting with Koni. It doesn’t matter where I do it.’
—Yisha was still clutching her workbook.
The one she had on the plane before had been burned. The situation was urgent at the time, so she couldn’t worry about it much. However, when they went to Kate’s to take his private plane, she found time to go to a bookstore and buy an identical copy.

Seeing her working on problems every day like a student cramming for an exam, Koni couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Does this stuff actually work?"
Yisha: "I think so...?"
Koni saw her uncertain expression and knew she hadn’t made much progress. Covering her mouth, she giggled. "Didn’t you say Mr. Sean taught you? It’s been this long and you still haven’t gotten the hang of it?"
’Mr. Sean is Lord Blake,’ Koni thought. ’With Lord Blake’s abilities, there shouldn’t be a student in the world he can’t teach.’
Yisha wasn’t pleased to hear that.
’What do you mean, "still haven’t gotten the hang of it"?’
’Do you really think the Truth Technique is as simple as solving a few problems?’
’If it were really that easy, then every Wizard knows the third law of Mysticism, "F=F’." Why is my teacher the only one who can use it to form a ring and repel a bullet from a gun?’
’The problems themselves aren’t the point.’
’The point is how to integrate that knowledge into your Magic Power.’
’It’s like a fruit knife. Some people only know how to peel apples with it, while others can make that knife faster than a gun within seven paces.’
’Without the Talent for it, all you can do is study diligently and practice hard, waiting for a moment of epiphany.’
’Truth’ itself is also a Path, created by Blake. The reason it wasn’t classified among the Twelve Paths of Magic from the Era of Polymath is, first, because the Truth Technique isn’t strictly a complete form of Magic. It doesn’t even have Spells.
And second, because the other Paths simply aren’t worthy.
’Whether it’s Blood Magic or Puppetry Art, they are all forms of Magic built upon the foundation of truth. How could they possibly be compared to ’Truth’ itself?’
Yisha huffed, "It’s easy for you to say."

If the learning difficulty for a conventional Magic like "Quickly Harden" is "Easy," then the Twelve Paths, including Blood Magic, would be "Hard" or "Very Hard." But the Truth Technique Sean was teaching her? That’s "Hell" difficulty, maxed out.
’Math alone was killer enough, but combining math with Mysticism? She had no idea how Sean even came up with it. She really wanted to crack his head open and see what was inside...’
"I’m actually quite envious of you," Koni said. ’Most people don’t even get the chance to work on problems set by Lord Blake.’
She didn’t say the second part out loud. Yisha probably still didn’t know that Mr. Sean was Lord Blake. From Koni’s own perspective, Yisha could already be considered Lord Blake’s personal disciple.
"Envious, huh?"
"Simple!"
"I can’t teach you without my teacher’s permission, but I can help you build a foundation first!" Yisha pulled out a pen, stuffed it into Koni’s hand, and said excitedly, "Come on, let’s do these problems together!"
Koni: "???"
「Meanwhile.」
Three doors down.
In the cramped room, Sean and the other two had already "fallen asleep" on Elvire’s small bed in various positions.
They hadn’t just taken their argument from outside to inside; they had taken it from the Real World to the Void Technique Space.
Neither Elvire nor Elise had read the *Fallen Nether Technique* before and didn’t know how to perform it, so they came to the Holy Sanctuary first.
The entire book was written in the Old Tongue. An ordinary Wizard would have a hard time understanding it. Fortunately, Elvire and Elise were both Reshapers, and Sean was "also" one. So while it was still quite obscure, they could at least grasp the general meaning.
"First, you must be on an empty stomach."
This was the same as regular Meditation. Remaining hungry induces cellular autophagy, making it easier to enter the state.
"Second, you must clear your mind and focus."
In layman’s terms, you must be focused, concentrate your mind, and not let your thoughts wander.
"Furthermore, you must fall asleep while embracing your companion..."
"Stop!"
Elvire interrupted, "Hold on a second."
Sean: "Hm?"
Elvire glared at him. "It clearly says right here that you only need to be in physical contact. How did you get ’fall asleep while embracing’ from that?"

’He’s trying to use this as an excuse to get fresh with me, isn’t he?’
Sean: "What do you know? This is what a *real* translation is."
"If you just translate every word literally, you might as well use machine translation. Why would you need a human translator?"
"The essence of translation is to skillfully use modern vocabulary to restructure sentences, making them smooth, readable, and full of literary beauty. It’s also a reflection of the translator’s literary accomplishment and spiritual depth."
"Spiritual depth, my ass," Elvire sneered. "I bet you write erotica."
"Oh?" Sean feigned surprise. "How did you know? Have you read my work?"
Elvire: "?"
’Me? Read that kind of stuff?’
’Growing up, she had never read it... more than a few times.’
"Pah," Elvire spat, her face slightly red. "Can’t you just behave yourself?"
Sean retorted, "How am I not behaving? It’s not like I’m the one cuddling with you to sleep."
Elvire: "?"
The method for dual Meditation wasn’t difficult. It was largely the same as solo Meditation, but with an extra step of "familiarizing" with your partner beforehand. They each had to guide their own Mental Power to touch and merge with the other’s, eliminating the mutual repulsion. Only then could they attempt to meditate together.
The repulsion between Mental Powers originates from a person’s inner self and depends on the degree of trust between two individuals. It has nothing to do with their "surface relationship." Whether they were ordinary friends, a couple, family, or a master and disciple, as long as there was enough trust, they could practice the *Fallen Nether Technique*.
The three of them had been through a lot together recently and had already built a friendship. The two women’s initial wariness toward Sean had vanished like smoke on the night at the hospital. Therefore, the "trust" prerequisite was barely a hurdle for them. After all, dual meditation didn’t require knowing each other inside and out, only that there was no genuine malice between them.
So, Sean placed the book back in the display case and said to Elise, "Let’s go, let’s go. Time to log off and get into position."
Dual Meditation was still Meditation, so it could also be performed in the Void Technique Space to increase the mental load for greater efficiency. However, when they entered, they weren’t touching, so they had to go back and cuddle up first.

This time, before Elise could agree, Elvire gritted her teeth and said, "Sean, don’t you go too far!"
’Flirting with my best friend right in front of me, time and time again! Does he really think I won’t get angry?’
’Don’t give me that crap about "proper Meditation."’
’Sean just proved with his "profound" translation skills that he’s not a proper person. No matter how proper the Meditation is, he’ll find a way to make it improper!’
’She was still right here, and Sean already dared to talk about cuddling Elise to sleep. Once they were in the Meditation World where she wasn’t present, heaven knows what those two would get up to!’
"You’re being really weird," Sean said, displeased. "It’s one thing if you don’t want to practice with me, but now you won’t let anyone else practice with me either? Are you trying to keep me stuck at Tier Three for the rest of my life?"
Elise nodded in agreement. "Exactly!"
"Exactly my foot!" Elvire, knowing she was losing the argument, retorted with a flushed face, "Who said I wasn’t willing?"
’She just hadn’t agreed back then; that didn’t mean she refused.’
’It’s just Dual Cultivation, right?’
’If we have to cultivate, then let’s cultivate. Who’s afraid of who!’
