Chapter 124: Chapter 80: The More the Enemy Obstructs, the More It Proves Me Right

"Is there a power even greater than the Florist Family?"

Yisha asked, puzzled, "Don’t they call all the shots in the entire Siracle State?"

That was the same question Sean had. He looked at Kate with confusion. ’Does the Florist Family have some kind of "boss" behind them?’

"Of course there is." Kate answered with certainty. "Normally, it’s true they call the shots in Siracle State. But if the negative fallout from an incident spreads to other states, or even shakes the public’s faith, then that’s a responsibility even they can’t bear."

The enemy knows the enemy best. Based on his understanding of the Florist Family, if they had received intel that they were all on the same flight, they would have definitely made a move—but not on the plane. It would have most likely happened at the airport.

They would have stopped them from boarding, or waited until they reached New Eldo and had the police take them away on some pretext.

"By that logic, aren’t we in huge trouble?" Yisha grabbed her hair in frustration.

The Florist Family alone was enough trouble, and now there was someone even more powerful. If this keeps up, they might not just be Wanted Criminals in Siracle State, but international ones.

"What’s there to be afraid of? When you’re deep in debt, a little more doesn’t hurt." Elise was quite optimistic. She winked at Yisha. "Besides, don’t you think that for a Wizard, a rising Wanted Level is actually a kind of honor?"

Everyone in this room, every last one of them, was a Wanted Criminal, weren’t they?

"Sister Elise is right!" Koni clenched her fists and said fiercely, "Since we’re Wanted Criminals, we should do things only Wanted Criminals would do! Otherwise, we’d be letting the title go to waste!"

Kate gave Koni a surprised glance. He hadn’t expected a girl so young to have such an enlightened perspective.

’Since they can’t shake the label of "Wanted Criminal" anyway, it’s better to be a proper Wanted Criminal than to just be slandered as one.’

His gaze shifted back and forth between Koni and Sopea before he finally came to a conclusion. "You’re definitely not his biological daughter."

"A guy like him, all pretentious and cold, a total silent bore—there’s no way he could produce a daughter as smart and charming as you."

Sopea: "?"

Koni: "..."

’Is the Light Attendant complimenting me?’

’But why is he complimenting me in such a weird way?’

Sopea looked at Kate coldly. "Don’t go looking for trouble."

Kate stared back just as coldly. "Then why don’t you tell us what we should do? Should we retaliate or not?"

He was actually asking for Sopea’s thoughts.

After all, among the nine of them, Sopea had the highest Tier and was also the oldest. To decide on their next course of action and route, they had to at least consult the old man’s opinion. This was the most basic respect shown to a Wizard of a higher Tier, even if his way of showing respect to Sopea was a bit peculiar.

Everyone turned to look at Sopea. Although many of them were proud and arrogant, they would still listen when it was time to listen, especially to reasonable suggestions.

"Then that settles it," Sopea said. "Since we all came by invitation, it’s only natural that we follow the host’s arrangements."

Before this happened, no one would have imagined their journey would be cut short by a plane crash just as it was beginning. Although everyone only suffered minor injuries, which wasn’t a big deal, the attack by the Witch Hunters itself served as a wake-up call. It was foreseeable that if they continued on to New Eldo and then transferred to go to World’s End, they would certainly encounter more attacks along the way.

So, whether or not to press on became the most pressing question for everyone.

Sean’s answer was simple. "We go."

He felt it wasn’t even a question.

According to Kate, the ones who made a move this time weren’t the Florist Family, but someone else. This enemy was more powerful than the Florist Family and had better intelligence. In just one day, they had learned the movements of their entire group, planned this attack, and even switched the flights for the other passengers who were supposed to be on the plane with them.

Without a doubt, their opponent was highly capable.

Sean even suspected their opponent might know what they were planning to do, which was why they were willing to destroy an expensive airplane just to kill them, or perhaps, to give them a warning.

In that case, things became very clear.

The more the enemy tried to stop them, the more it proved they were on the right path.

The more the enemy didn’t want them to go, the more they had to go.

Not only would they go, but they would also deliver a sharp counterattack.

Just as Yisha had said, if they didn’t do what they were supposed to do, they wouldn’t be living up to the arrest warrants hanging over their heads.

Sean said meaningfully, "I hear no one has ever dared to commit a crime in New Eldo?"

The moment she heard this, a bad feeling welled up inside Elvire. "What are you planning to do now?"

That little word "now" was very telling.

Sean explained in a gentle voice, "Don’t worry, I won’t do anything rash."
