Chapter 210: Euphoria
"Hahahaha."
{....}
Darius hadn’t stopped laughing since Bob explained what the form was.
It was a laugh filled with pure bliss from the feeling of strength. This was it, this was the strength he had been searching for.
Right now, he felt on top of the world....no, he felt out of it. He felt as if he could achieve anything he tried right now.
And the annoying part, at least to his opponent anyway, was that he was barely focused on the fight anymore, yet not a single light-based attack had managed to hit him.
Beams of light seemed as if they were crawling as they harmlessly moved past him.
The crowd watched a Church representative throw everything he had at the South’s second young master, and he dodged it all while in the middle of an emotional breakdown.
Quite a positive emotional breakdown.
They were uncertain whether to cheer or be worried about him.
"It seems your merging has been initiated," Cyrillus said, his annoyance growing by the second, but none of it showed on his face.
It was almost as if he were incapable of expressing that emotion.
"How did you manage to initiate it without going through the ritual?" He added.
"I have no idea," Darius said honestly. Hell, he didn’t even know there was a ritual to unlocking this.
If he didn’t, he would’ve initiated it from the moment he contracted Bob.
Inanis, on the other hand, seemed confused at the fact that a human who hadn’t been to the dragon’s realm or gone through the trial knew of this.
Not even its contractor’s father, who had also awakened the dragon bloodline, seemed to know of this ritual.
And even if he did, Inanis doubted the Grand Duke was compatible enough with his dragon to achieve what Darius currently was.
It was right.
Grand Duke Ignis looked at the arena with surprise evident in his eyes.
Unlike what Inanis thought, his contracted dragon had revealed the stories from the elders, but the two had been convinced that it was only a myth.
After all, the ritual hadn’t ended up working.
But right now, before his very own eyes, his child, one he thought was incapable of awakening the dragon bloodline, and in turn, useless,
Was doing what even he couldn’t.
Ignis was quiet for a long time before he suddenly burst out in loud laughter, "hahahaha!"
The other Grand dukes couldn’t even say anything as they were stuck looking at the fight, if they could even call it that at this point, with surprise.
"It seems Adrian’s gamble paid off in the end," the headmistress said, almost as if she were talking to herself, but she ensured it was loud enough for Ignis to hear.
"Hmm?" The Grand Duke curiously turned towards her.
"It seems he was the one who helped your kid unlock the dragon bloodline," headmistress Evelina said with a smile, almost as if she had planned to get Ignis’ attention with her words.
Which she did.
"Is that so?" Ignis muttered, placing a hand on his chin, as if trying to figure something out before nodding, "Then I’ll have to give him my thanks."
Evelina merely smiled in response. The event was already in motion; she might simply give it the push it needed to unfold a little faster.

In the preparation area, even Adrian was quite surprised at the reveal of such form. Since it was never revealed in the manhwa, he did not know of its existence.
"How interesting," he said as he looked at the screen before him.
"It seems my blessing did a lot more than granting them a void attribute," Noctis said.
It had the tone of something that had done considerably more than it intended, yet it didn’t seem to mind in the least bit.
’You did this?’ Adrian asked the cat lying on his head.
"So it seems," Noctis responded, "since they share my blessing through their contract, it seems their compatibility went up to better use the void flames."
’I see,’ Adrian muttered as he continued looking at the screen before asking, ’Can you do it again?’
He already had a plan in motion, and this would only make everything fall into place more smoothly.
"I’m uncertain of the results, "the cat said, "besides, it’ll only work on unnamed spirits. "
’That’s good enough for now,’ Adrian muttered, finally focusing back on the fight.

"Alright," Darius muttered as he stopped mid-air, "I guess that’s enough playing around for now."
Was what he said, but the smile on his face said otherwise.
He very much intended to draw out this fight until his opponent started going all out, which he clearly wasn’t.
Darius wanted to see exactly how strong this form was, and he wouldn’t find out against an opponent that wasn’t going all out.
But he had no choice but to end the fight as Inanis reminded him, You only have a minute before this power fades.}
"Already?" Darius muttered, sounding disappointed.
{Incomplete, remember?} Inanis said simply, {I told you.}
"Right, right."
He then looked at Cyrillus below him, the Church’s representative was also looking up at his opponent, whilst charging an attack.
If he wasn’t allowed to fully go all out, then he’d just use an attack that he was certain would overwhelm the opponent.
Light was building up in his palm as he extended it, but instead of trying to stop the attack, Darius just grinned and prepared to meet the attack with one of his own.
The light in Cyrillus’s palm reached its peak, and the next second, a concentrated beam, the largest he’d produced all match, was launched towards his opponent.
In response, Darius leaned forward and opened his mouth,
[Dragon’s Breath.]
A stream of red flames was launched from it, clashing with Cyrillus’ attack mid-air.
For a moment, it seemed as if the beam of light was overpowering the flames, but the next second, Darius put more force into his attack, and the flames started pushing back, before finally,
BOOM!
