Chapter 875: Rethinking Plans.

He was amused by Slav’s antics. But deep down, there was lingering fear. Because of what had just happened, he began to rethink his plans.

His mind was still shaken, so his thoughts were heavy as he said inwardly, ’It is really a good idea to return the Rewind Metac to Time Traveler?’

’He shouldn’t be able to use it since he sent it out to secure his reincarnation. If he could use it to create a better outcome for himself, he wouldn’t have needed Slav. But if I give him Slav and the Rewind Metac, he will definitely be able to use it to reverse time.’

’Slav alone is difficult to deal with. He is just a rank 1 runt, yet I almost lost him. If a rank 9 fallen Dao Lord gets his hands on the Rewind Metac, the situation would be worse.’

’Maybe I shouldn’t let Time Traveler have Slav just yet. At least, not unless I have a way to counter him.’

’Last time I met him, he was able to ride along with me when I reversed time. If he gains a bodu, he will definitely be able to do worse.’

While he was planning and scheming, the reconstruction of his body was completed. The Danger Sense Metac within him was also warning him about a source of danger in the sky. These things made him decide to leave as soon as possible.

He didn’t leave alone, though. He took Slav with him. Slav was taken into his Cave Heaven and suppressed there.

After securing his bargaining chip, he took off into the air. He went in the direction of a certain underground cave.

The underground cave was where Slav went to for Golden Sun to reincarnate. He was going there to see if he could make contact with Golden Sun.

He felt that it would be easier to deal with Golden Sun than to deal with Time Traveler. Even if he had to help Golden Sun to reincarnate, he was willing to do it rather than give Time Traveler any chance at reincarnation.

When he reached the underground Cave Heaven, he spread his awareness and perception into the air. He was looking for any trace of Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven.

He also used the Power Identification Ability to see if he could spot anything. Even the devouring forcefield was deployed for the search. So he was using everything he had at his disposal to search.

This search lasted for a whole ten seconds. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t find a trace of any Cave Heaven. All he saw were rocks and more rocks.

This made him grumble, as he thought, ’I’m not surprised actually. He has been able to stay hidden from Dao Lords for so long. So it shouldn’t be easy for me to find him.’

If he had all the time in the world, he would continue to search. Unfortunately, he was running out of time.

Seeing as someone was pursuing him, he decided to release Slav to see if the young man could cause any sort of resonance. He placed Slav in the exact spot in the caves where Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven usually took him. Then he waited for a result.

Slav was in the underground caves while he stayed outside. He didn’t want his presence to scare Golden Sun off. But he also didn’t want Slav to escape, so the seal remained active on the Rewind Metac.

He was waiting when some divine beings approached him from the sky. There were two of them. Both of them were at rank 6.

One of them was Monarch Forced Exchange. The other was the Monarch Floating Furnace.

Loki knew what they were here for, so he said, "How much?"

The two of them were taken aback by his question for a while. The words they were about to say died in their throats.

When they recovered, it was Floating Furnace who said, "I have been ordered to collect World essence worth one thousand years from you."

Monarch Forced Exchange also said with a fierce tone, "You have no choice but to pay."

Actually, the sect had only asked them to bring 500 years of world essence as payment for all the lives that he took. It was either that or he pay 1 billion energy stones.

They were the ones who added the extra 500 years to the price. Clearly, they were as greedy as their sects.

When Loki heard the price, he shook his head and said, "Those were mere mortals. They should be worth at most a hundred years of lifespan. A thousand years is too much. Let me pay 500 years."

He thought he was being reasonable, but Forced Exchange shook his head and said, "Which backward world did you come from? In the Blessed Heaven World, we don’t treat mortals like trash. Mortals are our most precious treasures."

He was lying with a straight face, but Floating Furnace, who was only hearing the lies, couldn’t keep a straight face. Floating Furnace’s face was twitching when he heard Forced Exchange’s words. But he didn’t speak up to interrupt his partner in crime.

Forced Exchange continued speaking, "Forget 500 years. If you don’t pay up, we will kill you."

Actually, even if he paid, Forced Exchange would still kill him. After all, he was a dragon.

At this point, Floating Furnace spoke up. He didn’t want the situation to derail too much from the mission he was sent to execute.

So he said, "And before you pay, you have to join the sect."

"Only members of the sect can attack and destroy sect establishments and pay fines for their offense. Enemies of the sect can’t do so. So you have to join the sect or be hunted and killed."

After he heard this, Loki went silent for a while. Six seconds later, he said, "Can I think about it?"

His words rendered Floating Furnace speechless. He tried many times to say something, but he always came up short of something that wasn’t sarcastic.
