Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Imperial Phantom-V

"If you stare at me like that for another five seconds, Azriel, I am canceling this entire outing and returning to my office," Rosalind warned, her golden eyes narrowing as she tried to project authority, though the bright flush blooming across her cheeks betrayed her completely.

Azriel stepped forward, a soft look in his eyes as he gently reached out and tucked a stray silver strand behind her feline ear.

"I can’t help you look so breathtaking, Rose."

Rosalind instantly reached up, pulling the strand back into its exact original position with a small huff.

"I know I do. And that strand was placed there intentionally, it’s part of the hairstyle."

Azriel blinked, staring at her like an idiot for a brief second before deadpanning, "Thanks for ruining the moment, Rose."

Rosalind let out a soft chuckle.

Reaching up, her manicured fingers hooked firmly into the lapels of his dark coat, pulling him down until her lips were a hair’s breadth away from his.

"Do we really need an orchestrated ’moment,’ Azriel?"

A slow, crooked smile spread across Azriel’s face.

"No. Guess we don’t."

Rosalind closed the tiny gap between them, capturing his mouth in a slow, sweet, and surprisingly deep kiss.

They melted into each other for a long, passionate minute, the gentle morning breeze swaying her pink dress as their breathing grew heavy.

[LIVE CHAT]

[Sadistic69] (Red): AHAHAHA SHE FIXED HER HAIR!

[Nine_Tailed_Vixen] (Cyan): Okay, but the grab by the coat lapels?! The way she just pulled him in?!

[Frost_Queen_Elsa] (Cyan): She wanted that kiss SO bad, look at her ears flattening against her head!

[God_Slayer_Klara] (Red): Look at his hands sneaking down to her waist already. The man physically cannot keep his hands off her for more than five seconds!

[Boundless_Slacker] (Red): Did she just talk about dragging him back upstairs?! Sisters, we were SECONDS away from Round 9! Why are we going on a date? Take him back inside!

When she finally pulled back, resting her forehead against his, a wicked, teasing glint flared in her golden eyes.

"I would love nothing more than to drag you right back upstairs and strip that coat off, but I have a feeling our date would get severely delayed."

Azriel chuckled, sliding his hands down to her hips to pull her flush against him one last time.

"Then let’s go before you change your mind."

He turned toward the grand gates, but Rosalind caught his wrist.

"Hold on a second. I called for transport, my assistant should be pulling up any moment."

Azriel nodded easily. By now, the existence of luxury automobiles in this world didn’t shock him in the slightest.

He had seen plenty of them over the past two weeks while doom-scrolling on his new smartphone, strictly for "stream content research," of course.

Right on cue, a low, melodic hum echoed down the cobblestone driveway as a vehicle glided smoothly toward the grand entrance.

Azriel’s eyes widened, a massive, unbidden grin spreading across his face the moment it came into view.

It was a masterpiece of magical engineering.

The vehicle was an ultra-sleek, low-profile luxury sport-coupe forged from a gleaming, pearlescent white mana-alloy that seemed to absorb and reflect the sunlight like liquid pearl.

Sharp, aerodynamic black streaks made of dark obsidian rune-glass ran along the sharp edges and side contours, pulsing with a faint, deep-violet aetheric aura.

Instead of traditional rubber tires, the vehicle hovered inches above the gravel on four pressurized gravity-stabilization rings that emitted a soft, neon-cyan glow.

The windshield was a seamless piece of dark, one-way enchanted glass, and as the car smoothly glided to a halt, the gull-wing doors swung upward like the wings of a mechanical dragon, releasing a soft hiss of cooling steam.

"Holy hell..." Azriel muttered, completely abandoning his suave, mysterious persona for a second.

He practically trotted over to the vehicle like a kid in a candy store, running his fingers along the smooth, icy-cool hood, admiring the intricate, glowing spell-circles etched subtly into the pearlescent paintwork.

"This is ridiculous," Azriel laughed, looking back at Rosalind with bright, excited violet eyes.

"Rose, please tell me we’re taking this thing out on the open highway."

Rosalind walked over at a measured pace, watching his unbridled enthusiasm with a soft, amused tilt of her lips.

Her feline ears twitched with subtle pride as her assistant stepped out from the driver’s side, bowing respectfully before handing the Duchess the glowing crystalline key.

"It is an Imperial Phantom-V," Rosalind explained smoothly, lacing her fingers back through his.

"Runes-forged, mana-driven, and capable of breaking the sound barrier on flat terrain. Since you’ve been behaving yourself... You can even drive, if you think you can handle it."

Azriel looked at the sleek interior with a grin, but shook his head.

"No, you drive for now, Rose. I want to enjoy the view on the way there. I’ll take over on the drive back."

"Fine by me," Rosalind replied with a faint, confident smirk.

She took her seat on the driver’s side, pressing the obsidian disc smoothly into a glowing circular indentation on the center console.

Instantly, the Phantom-V hummed to life.

A soft, deep purr of concentrated mana vibrated through the plush leather seats as the dashboard ignited, casting floating, holographic spell-matrices into the air before them.

Azriel slid into the passenger seat, his violet eyes wide with uninhibited excitement as he absorbed the futuristic interior, the crisp, rich scent of luxury leather blending with the ozone-tinged hum of the magical instrumentation.

As Rosalind reached for the controls, Azriel casually rested his hand high on her smooth, bare thigh, his calloused fingers giving a subtle, possessive squeeze.

Rosalind shot him a sharp side-eye, her feline ears twitching as a faint flush dusted her cheeks, but she didn’t pull away.

With a smooth flick of her wrist, she engaged the gravity rings.

The vehicle lifted seamlessly off the gravel, swept gracefully past the estate’s heavy iron gates, and shot down the open highway toward the grand, towering silhouette of Bastir City.

The acceleration was unlike anything Azriel had ever experienced.

There was no roaring combustion engine, only a deep, resonant hum as the gravity-stabilization rings locked into the highway’s embedded mana-conduits.

The surrounding landscape blurred into brilliant streaks of lush green forest and ancient stone ruins, the Phantom-V effortlessly carving through the air like a silent, guided missile.
