Chapter 67: Chapter 67: A Date With Rosalind

The high-speed blur of lush greenery and ancient ruins gradually gave way to sprawling, paved boulevards as the Imperial Phantom-V glided past the grand outer archways of Bastir City.

The metropolis was a breathtaking blend of monumental architecture and vibrant, bustling life.

Unlike the White, lifeless aesthetics of Bastet Clan’s Mansion, the city itself erupted in a brilliant tapestry of color.

Majestic, soaring towers crafted from polished white quartz and stained glass reached toward the sky, casting rainbow-tinted reflections onto the pristine stone streets below.

Banners of gold, crimson, and turquoise fluttered from arched bridges that connected high-rise residential sectors, while floating elemental lanterns hummed softly above the open-air plazas.

As the sports coupe slowed its pace to match the city’s steady traffic, Azriel leaned back against his seat, his violet eyes taking in the societal landscape.

The social hierarchy of the matriarchal realm was immediately evident on every corner.

Women walked with an effortless, unyielding confidence, roaming freely in small groups, dressed in vibrant, elaborate attire ranging from combat-leathers to flowing, revealing silk robes.

They held the high-tier administrative posts, managed the bustling shops, and commanded the local security patrols with authority.

The men, by contrast, moved with a far more reserved, modest demeanor.

They wore understated, full-coverage attire, neat tunics, loose trousers, and buttoned coats, moving through the streets in quiet, orderly fashion, naturally yielding the right-of-way to the women passing by.

Rosalind smoothly guided the vehicle into a private, high-security underground parking terminal situated beneath the city’s central district.

The gravity rings settled gently onto the polished stone floor, and the gull-wing doors hissed open.

Azriel stepped out, adjusting the lapels of his dark coat as the ambient hum of the city above filtered down through the archways.

He turned to Rosalind, a lazy, curious smirk cutting across his face.

"So, Duchess," Azriel began, stepping up beside her and sliding his hands into his pockets.

"Where are we heading first? Or am I just following you blindly today?"

Rosalind stepped close, her golden eyes sparkling with an uncharacteristic, lighthearted warmth as her feline ears gave a soft, excited twitch.

Reaching out, she laced her manicured fingers tightly through his, completely ignoring the lingering glances from the nearby terminal attendants.

"You’re following me," Rosalind replied, a confident, dazzling smile lighting up her face.

"I’ve planned everything out for the entire day. Come on."

She laced her fingers firmly through his, leading him out of the private terminal and into the vibrant sunlight of the upper district.

The moment they stepped onto the bustling grand avenue, the atmosphere shifted.

Passersby froze in their tracks.

Eyes widened, hushed whispers rippled through the crowd, and a heavy wave of absolute shock washed over the plaza.

The fearsome, unyielding Crimson Duchess, walking openly through the city center, wearing a soft pink sundress, smiling warmly, and holding hands with a strikingly handsome male who wore a custom black suit like he owned the entire sector.

It was Azriel’s very first public appearance before the world.

Within seconds, glowing mana-phones were discreetly slipped out, discreet lenses flashed, and candid photos were uploaded straight to the imperial net, sparking an instantaneous media wildfire.

Rosalind, fully aware that this spectacle was inevitable, simply ignored the stares.

She walked with a light, almost bubbly step, genuinely happy to have him at her side.

Their first stop was the Grand Imperial Opera House, a massive, towering structure made of carved alabaster and stained crystal.

Seeing how genuinely excited Rosalind was for the classical music concert, Azriel found himself actually looking forward to it.

Upon arrival, they were personally greeted by the bowing, nerve-wracked owner of the auditorium and escorted up a private, velvet-lined hallway to an exclusive VIP balcony box overlooking the entire hall.

Settling into the plush, wide leather sofas, they sat intimately close, hand in hand, as the grand curtain slowly rose.

Then, the orchestra began to play.

And it was, without a shadow of a doubt, the most aggressively boring experience of Azriel’s entire life.

[LIVE CHAT]

[Sadistic69] (Red): LOOK AT HIS EYES! HAHAHAHA! HE IS FIGHTING FOR HIS ABSOLUTE LIFE RIGHT NOW!

[Nine_Tailed_Vixen] (Cyan): The way his eyelids are drooping! He literally survived a high-tier physical tempering and Nyra’s brutal sparring, but a classical harp solo is about to knock him out flat!

[Boundless_Slacker] (Red): Bro’s battle-hardened reflexes are doing emergency micro-nods. His Warrior’s Insight has completely shut down to preserve his sanity.

[Lusty_Sera] (Golden): Look at Rose, though! She’s totally lost in the melody, leaning her head on his shoulder, completely oblivious that her slave is about to pass out on her!

[God_Slayer_Klara] (Red): STAND UP, SOLDIER! IF YOU FALL ASLEEP ON THE DUCHESS MID-CONCERT, SHE’S GOING TO ASSIGN YOU DOUBLE WEIGHTS TOMORROW!

Azriel swallowed a massive yawn, his jaw locking tight as he desperately blinked away the heavy fog in his eyes.

He checked his System clock, only twenty minutes had passed, but it felt like three centuries of slow-paced violin solos.

He glanced down at Rosalind.

She was resting her head against his arm, her eyes half-closed in bliss, her feline ears swaying softly to the subtle rhythms.

Muster every ounce of his legendary discipline, Azriel sat rigid, forcing his eyes to stay open as the high-pitched aria reached its third hour.

Just as his chin gave a heavy, involuntary jerk downward and his consciousness hovered right on the perilous edge of deep sleep, a sudden, booming swell of brass instruments signaled the finale.

The entire hall erupted into thunderous applause.

The sudden noise snapped Azriel back to full awareness like a bucket of ice water.

Seeing Rosalind immediately stand up to applaud, Azriel shot up right beside her, his violet eyes wide, energetic, and completely focused.

He began clapping with intense, aggressive enthusiasm, nodding along like a seasoned connoisseur of fine arts.

"Bravo! Incredible composition!" he praised loudly over the applause, putting his hands together so hard you’d think he had just witnessed the creation of the cosmos.

Rosalind turned to him, her golden eyes sparkling with pure delight.

As they stepped out of the velvet VIP box and began walking down the quiet, carpeted hallway toward the private exit, Rosalind was softly humming the opera’s main theme.

Azriel slid his arm around her waist, looking down at her with an effortlessly smooth expression.

"Seriously... that was easily one of the best moments of my life."

Rosalind paused, turning her head with a teasing, playful smirk.

"One of the best? Not the best?"

Azriel tightened his grip on her waist, pulling her flush against his side, and leaned down until his lips brushed right against the sensitive tip of her feline ear.

"The absolute best one," he whispered softly, his deep voice sending a shiver straight down her spine, "was meeting you."
