Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Help Me Choose

Finally, after fourteen days of relentless labor, Rosalind managed to clear her imperial calendar for a single, precious day off.

It had taken a considerable amount of convincing on Azriel’s part, pestering her during late-night cooldowns and teasing her during breakfast, but she had finally relented.

She had finally agreed to step outside the perimeter of the estate for a date, or rather, a discreet, incognito excursion to explore the bustling, monumental metropolis of Bastir.

It was a city Azriel had been dying to see with his own eyes ever since he came to know about it.

[LIVE CHAT]

[Sadistic69] (Red): A DATE DAY?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! He actually talked the GrandMaster into taking a day off?!

[Nine_Tailed_Vixen] (Cyan): Look at her trying to pick out normal civilian clothes! She looks so cute and flustered! The Duchess is going on a date with her slave!

[Lusty_Sera] (Golden): He spent two weeks training like a demon by day and devouring her by night, and now he takes her out to the city... this man’s rizz is truly transcendent.

[Boundless_Slacker] (Red): This ’date’ is definitely going to turn into absolute cinema. Popcorn ready, sisters.

Standing in Rosalind’s lavish private dressing room, Azriel looked effortlessly sharp.

He wore an impeccably tailored matte-black suit over a crisp white dress shirt, fitted with a dark silk tie that sat neatly against his chest.

Draped over his broad shoulders was a matching black trench coat, classy, sharp, and modern, striking the perfect balance between high-end elegance and understated style without looking excessively regal.

Leaning against the polished marble doorframe, he crossed his arms, a lazy, thoroughly entertained smile playing on his lips.

Before him stood the fearsome Duchess of the East, stripped of her intimidating military regalia and heavy imperial robes.

She was standing in nothing but a delicate, matching set of white lace bra and panties, her flawless, pale skin flushed pink, and her white feline ears twitching in absolute frustration.

Spread out across the massive bed behind her were dozens of civilian outfits, silk dresses, tailored coats, and casual cloaks, an entire high-end wardrobe tossed in complete disarray.

Rosalind turned to him, holding up two wildly different outfits, her golden eyes narrowing with rare indecision.

"Don’t just stand there smiling, Azriel," she huffed, her tail flicking nervously behind her bare legs.

"Help me choose."

Azriel chuckled softly, pushing himself off the marble doorframe.

He sauntered over to the bed, running his fingers through the sea of high-end fabrics, silk, and leather spread out across the mattress.

"Alright, alright," he said, picking up an elegant, emerald-green silk dress with a daring split up the thigh.

"How about this one? It matches your eyes and looks smooth as hell."

Rosalind crossed her arms under her plush breasts, her feline ears flicking backward as she critically eyed the dress.

"Too flashy. The slit is far too high for a ’discreet’ excursion. Everyone in the lower district would be staring at my legs, and I am trying not to draw a crowd."

Azriel rolled his eyes playfully and tossed the green dress back onto the pile.

He dug a bit deeper and pulled out a stylish, form-fitting black leather jumpsuit paired with a cropped dark jacket.

"Fine. What about this? Looks sleek, comfortable, and you still get to look like a dangerous badass."

Rosalind frowned, stepping closer to inspect the collar.

"The leather is far too stiff for casual walking. Besides, black makes me look like I’m on a covert assassination contract, not a walk through the market. Do you really think that screams ’incognito civilian’ to you?"

"Rose, it’s just clothes," Azriel sighed, reaching down to grab a beautiful, cream-colored sundress with delicate embroidery

"Okay, last try. Simple, light, soft—"

"Absolutely not," she cut him off instantly, shaking her head.

"Cream washes out my hair tone completely. And what if it rains? The fabric is entirely too thin."

[LIVE CHAT]

[Sadistic69] (Red): HAHAHAHA! She is just like every other woman, or me

[Nine_Tailed_Vixen] (Cyan): To be fair, cream would wash out her silver hair! She’s a GrandMaster, she has standards!

[Boundless_Slacker] (Red): Bro tried three completely different aesthetics and got shut down instantly.

[Lusty_Sera] (Golden): Look at his face, he’s completely done.

Azriel stared at her for a long moment, the cream dress dangling limply from his hand.

He looked at the mountain of clothes, then at Rosalind, who was still standing there in her white lace underwear, looking deeply stressed over an entire wardrobe.

He tossed the dress back onto the pile, throwing his hands up in amused defeat as a wry smirk broke across his face.

"You know what? I take it back," Azriel said, turning on his heel toward the door.

"Choose whatever you want, Rose. I’ll be waiting outside before you reject my entire existence based on color theory."

"Azriel, wait—!" Rosalind called out, her cheeks flushing a deeper crimson as he casually stepped out into the hallway, shutting the door behind him with a low chuckle.

A full half-hour trickled by. Azriel stood waiting near the estate’s grand entrance, casually adjusting the cuffs of his black coat.

Then, soft footsteps echoed against the stone, and Azriel turned—his breath catching in his throat.

Rosalind was walking toward him, and she looked completely unrecognizable from the fearsome, iron-willed Duchess who commanded armies.

She wore a soft, pastel-pink sundress that hugged her waist before flaring out gently above her knees, paired with a light white cardigan.

Her silver-white hair cascaded loosely over her shoulders, and her white feline ears twitched nervously.

Radiating an almost fragile innocence, she looked less like an imperial ruler and more like a girl stepping out on her very first date, which in truth, she was.

Azriel simply stared, his violet eyes locked onto her, completely captivated by how breathtakingly beautiful she looked in the morning light.

Rosalind stopped a few paces away, her white tail swaying erratically behind her.

"If you stare at me like that for another five seconds, Azriel, I am canceling this entire outing and returning to my office," Rosalind warned, her golden eyes narrowing as she tried to muster her usual sternness, though the bright, rosy flush blooming across her cheeks betrayed her completely.
