Chapter 173: Lysa Vs Wind Clone

On the outskirts of Karyal City, night had fully settled over the land.

Unlike the main streets, where lights blazed from every building and neon lights, this area was sparse and quiet.

Buildings were few and far between, separated by stretches of empty land and patches of wild trees.

The only sounds were the distant hum of insects and the soft rustle of leaves in the night breeze.

Cael walked alone through the darkness, following the address Luke had given him.

His steps were measured, his senses alert.

Because of his cautious nature, he had prepared for every possible scenario.

Cael even prepared many healing potions, mana recovery potions, and such.

After all, the target was the Vampire Prince, a [Mythril] ranker. One wrong move or mistake could mean death.

If the main body were here, the mission success rate would be around 80%.

But with only the Wind Clone present, the odds dropped to fifty or sixty percent.

Not because Luke was weak, but because the Vampire

Prince would have protectors and servants. A prince of vampires wouldn’t travel alone.

But Luke had planned this mission.

And Luke was not someone who spoke without facts, and Cael trusted that there was more to the plan than what he could see.

Cael shook his head, pushing the thoughts aside. He continued walking, following the winding path through the trees.

It took some time before he finally arrived at an empty garage. It was a rundown structure, its walls stained with age, its roof sagging in places.

To see the last building Cael had passed, he would need to walk back two miles.

This place was completely isolated, surrounded by thick trees that blocked any view from the main road.

If Cael had not been given the address, he would never have found this place.

Not only that, but the garage was emitting special frequency waves that disrupted cameras, mobile signals, and any electronic devices. Even satellites would not be able to spot it.

’How much did Luke spend on this?’

Cael’s Mana Sovereignty allowed him to perceive the waves, but to anyone else, the garage would appear as nothing more than an abandoned building.

Without hesitation, Cael looked toward the garage.

’Luke said there would be someone here—’

Before he could complete the thought, his danger sense spiked. It was sharp and immediate, a warning that cut through his thoughts like a blade.

Using wind, Cael propelled himself forward, his body moving on instinct.

He raised his hand, forming three moonlight swords in the air. The blades glowed faintly, their silver light cutting through the darkness.

Then Cael hurled moonlight swords toward the source of the danger.

-WHOOSH.

-BANG.

Cael paused, his eyes fixed on the dust cloud where the collision had occurred. He could see the faint remnants of his moonlight swords dissipating in the air.

The dust began to settle, and soft footsteps emerged from the haze. A figure walked out, her silhouette sharp against the dim light.

She had white hair and gray eyes. It was Lysa, formerly known as Kira Crimson.

Cael felt a flicker of familiarity, but he could not place her. He had no recollection of ever meeting her.

But something about her presence felt... off.

He did not activate Thought Partition. He was just a clone.

If he took continuous damage, even if it is mental damage, he might dissipate.

Then he recalled that he had an SS-rank regeneration skill, but he realized that might not work on a clone.

His cautious nature pushed him into analysis mode.

Meanwhile, the white-haired girl smiled, her expression was calm, almost amused, then she said,

"It has been a while."

Cael frowned and asked,

"Do I know you?"

Lysa’s eyes widened slightly, as if she had realized something. Then she chuckled and said,

"Oops! My bad. You can call me Lysa."

Cael took a small breath, his eyes never left her,

"Why did you attack me?"

Lysa shrugged and replied,

"Isn’t it obvious? I did it because I wanted to."

She released her [Gold 2] aura, and along with it, a faint, oppressive presence that Cael recognized.

Vampire’s bloodline aura.

She smiled again, her gray eyes gleaming in the dim light as she added,

"Do I need to say more?"

After leaving those words in the air, Lysa moved first.

Her body blurred as she closed the distance between them in an instant. Her hand shot forward, fingers extended like blades, aimed at Cael’s throat.

Cael stepped back, wind swirling around his feet, carrying him out of reach. Her attack passed inches from his skin.

But Lysa did not stop. Her momentum carried her forward, and she twisted midair, her leg swinging toward his head.

Cael ducked, moonlight gathering in his palm as he formed a blade and slashed upward.

Lysa twisted again, avoiding the strike by a hair’s breadth. Her body moved like water, flowing around his attacks.

Before Cael could press on with further attacks, she jumped onto a nearby tree, then vanished into the tree’s shadow.

Suddenly, Cael turned his head back as he raised a wind barrier, but it was too late. A blood bullet struck him.

Then his body dissipated into moonlight.

-Moonlight Afterimage.

During that split second, Cael had used Moonlight Flash to move a few meters away.

His true form reappeared in a different spot, his eyes fixed on the spot where his afterimage had just been destroyed.

Lysa emerged from the shadow of another tree, her gray eyes gleaming with amusement.

Cael’s violet eyes remained locked on her. During this brief exchange, he had already understood his opponent’s combat style.

She was not committing to any full-fledged attacks. She was testing. Probing. Looking for openings. Every strike was a question. Every retreat was a trap.

Cael recognized the pattern. She was not trying to win quickly. She was studying him.

The fight continued.

Lysa darted to the side, her hand reaching into her space pouch. When she pulled it out, blood was flowing from her palm like a liquid whip.

The blood hardened as it moved, forming a crimson blade that she swung toward Cael.

Cael raised his hand. A barrier of wind formed in front of him. The blood blade struck the barrier and shattered into droplets.

But the droplets did not fall to the ground. They hovered in the air and shot toward him like bullets.

Cael moved away as wind propelled him sideways.

The blood droplets passed through the space where he had been standing. They struck the ground and trees behind him, creating small craters in the dirt and holes in the trees.

Lysa smiled and said,

"You are quick. That is good. This would be boring otherwise."

She reached into her space pouch again. More blood flowed out, forming twin whips in her hands. She cracked them forward, the crimson tendrils snaking through the air.

Cael did not have time to block. He leaped into the air, wind carrying him upward. The blood whips followed, chasing him like living serpents.

He formed moonlight swords midair and threw them downward. The blades cut through the blood whips, severing them into pieces.

The pieces did not fall. They reformed, merging back together, becoming even more whips.

Cael clicked his tongue.

’She is controlling the blood with her will.’

He landed on the ground and immediately rolled to the side as a blood whip struck where he had been.

The ground cracked under the impact.

He activated Thought Partition. Just enough to split his focus.

One stream watched her movements. Another analyzed her attacks. A third searched for openings.

’She is not trying to kill me.’

The realization struck him. Her attacks were fast, but they were not fatal. She was aiming to wound, to corner, but not to kill.

’Testing me. She is testing me.’

He recalled Luke’s words. "Someone will meet you there."

’This is her. She is the one Luke was talking about.’

Lysa didn’t give Cael a chance to think as she cracked her whips forward again.

Cael raised a wall of moonlight, blocking the attack. Then Cael smiled softly and said,

"You know, if you want to kill me, you have to try harder."

Lysa paused. Her smile widened as she said,

"Very well. Do not regret it later."

Hearing her words, Cael shrugged and answered casually,

"We will see about that."

Lysa stepped forward, her eyes gleaming. Then her gray eyes began to shift. A crimson hue bled into them.

The blood in her hands began to pulse with a new intensity.

She raised her hand. The blood whips dissolved into a cloud of crimson mist. The mist swirled around her, forming a dense aura that seemed to pulse with life.

Then she activated her Royal-grade bloodline.

A crimson butterfly tattoo formed on her cheek, glowing faintly in the darkness.

Her aura intensified, pressing against Cael like a physical weight. Her hair seemed to take on a faint red hue, and her eyes became fully crimson.

"Now be careful. I won’t hold back anymore."

Lysa said, her voice low and smooth,

"Let us continue our dance."
