Chapter 202: Vs the demoness

‎My body scraped across the blood soaked ground so fast that the ground tore like it was paper. The moment my body skidded to a halt with my face half drowned in blood, a massive wind arrow whistled towards my body.

‎BOOM!

‎The arrow arrived before my face almost instantly.

‎How did we come to such a situation you wonder. Well, we’ll have to rewind back to a minute ago.

‎--A minute earlier--

‎The demons attacked us on the demoness’ orders, and the ferocious demon with the bastard sword who had been specifically ordered to bring my head swung his sword at my head, literally trying to take my head off.

‎The ground caved in as my reflection smashed the demon face first into the ground, giving my main body enough time to push myself off the ground.

‎I enhanced my body with aether reinforcement at full capacity and especially concentrated much aether into my leg, then smashed my leg on the demon’s head.

‎Bang!

‎However, instead of the demon’s head, my foot met the flat side of his bastard sword. The collision made the demon sink even deeper into the ground, and a devastating shockwave swept through the entire hall.

‎BOOM!

‎My main body was blasted upwards while my reflection got blasted backwards including most of the weaker individuals in the room.

‎My reflection quickly regained it’s bearings and headed to assist Bran who was fighting with the other Zeta ranked demon.

‎Bran and the others were also doing well. Bran had become a hulking crystal figure and was fending off the demons, and even though he was occupied by the other Zeta ranked demon, he made an effort to kill some of the weaker ones whenever he got the opportunity. So with the assist of my reflection, the defeat of the Zeta ranked demon was only a matter of when.

‎ Alan’s danger sense made him look like he knew the future. He was always two steps ahead of the demon he was fighting.

‎Pixie and Bob were fighting two particularly strong demons at the Theta+ rank, while Vera was fighting, and at the same time protecting Khloe.

‎With everyone fighting, that made the ground to slowly become a pool of blood, mixed in with corpses and anything in between.

‎My other reflection that had been helping the others meanwhile, was tearing through the demons. Each one fell within one to three exchanges.

‎Meanwhile, my main body that had been blasted upwards landed back on the ground just in time as the demon who had sink into the ground.

‎"I’ll kill you!" The demon bellowed and disappeared from his spot.

‎’Fast.’ My eyes narrowed.

‎The demon appeared before me almost instantly, his sword swinging down to split me in two. My figure blurred sideways, but he had already anticipated that.

‎His leg coiled and kicked at my chest. I crossed my arms over my chest at the last second.

‎Bang!

‎Even though I had reinforced my arms with a significant amount of aether, my bones still rattled at the point of contact before my legs lifted off the ground, and I flew backwards uncontrollably.

‎However, before I could crash to the ground, my reflection who had just punch a demon’s head caught my leg, spun around in one spot and threw me back at the demon with even greater speed.

‎Sewing my incoming figure, a maniacal grin appeared on the demon’s face as he raised his sword. The bastard sword suddenly got enveloped by a brilliant flame.

‎’This must be his ability.’ I thought. What I was going to do next would sting, but...

‎The moment I reached him, the sword enhanced with the flame swept horizontally towards my figure. Ignoring the flames on the sword, I twisted my body mid air, then placed my palm the flaming sword, using it as a foothold to push my body upwards, making the sword pass beneath me.

‎But gods it hurt, the entirety of my fingers to my wrist was scalded with second degree burns. If I dared to touch Rose’s flames like that, I would have no hand left.

‎But anyway, after the flaming sword passed beneath me. I used my other hand to grab onto one of the demon’s horns. I then swung myself onto onto his neck holding his neck in a chokehold with legs.

‎Almost immediately, a dagger appeared in my hand, spinning rapidly. With no hesitation whatsoever, my hand closed around the dagger and pierced down towards his skull.

‎Before the dagger could pierce into his skull however, an extremely strong gale knocked my head back so hard I swear I could feel my brain rattling inside my skull. My body flew off the demon and scraped across the blood soaked ground so fast that the ground tore like it was paper. The moment my body skidded to a halt with my face half drowned in blood, a massive wind arrow whistled towards my body.

‎And that, people, is how I got to this situation. At this point, I had no choice but to swap with the reflection fighting the weaker demons.

‎BOOM!

‎The moment the arrow struck the reflection I had swapped with, an earthshaking shockwave comprised with hidden wind blades swept through the entire hall.

‎Multiple cuts appeared on my body, but they weren’t fatal. Meanwhile, Bran, ever the dutiful comrade, covered the others from the brunt of the shockwave and the wind blades with his hulking crystal body.

‎After the shockwave subsided, I raised my head to look at the perpetrator of that attack. It was none other than the demoness who gave the order for my head to be brought to her.

‎Shw had stood up straight, with gusts of green wind swirling around her. And she was looking straight at me.

‎"You!" She hissed. "You’re not the one with the highest rank, but you’re the strongest here."

‎I smiled provocatively.

‎"My my, such flattery. I guess even demons aren’t immune to my looks."

‎Contrary to my words, the demoness didn’t get angry. Insgead a wide grin spotted her lips apart.

‎"You human, I do not like you, and trust me when I say this, I will flay you alive."

‎I wasn’t bothered, or rather acted like I wasn’t bothered.

‎"Why did you finally decide to interfere, I wonder? I was this close to sending that guy on his way." I pointed to the demon with the flaming sword who looked ready to charge at me once more.

‎"And another minute more, all of your underlings would have been on their way to the afterlife." I added.

‎"Bran, I’ll leave this one to you." I said gesturing at the Zeta ranked demon I had been assisting him with. "I’ll take both that one, and their leader." I said pointing my dagger at the demoness. "The rest of you, take care of these weaklings before we’re done."

‎I didn’t say anything after that. Two more reflections appeared by my side, each with ten percent of my aether, which meant they had two hundred percent of my strength.

‎Meanwhile, the reflection assisting Bran earlier went towards the demon with the flaming sword.

‎Taking that as a cue, multiple green wind bullets appeared all around the demoness before she waved her hands sending them towards me. Not a single one of those bullets didn’t move at sonic speeds.

‎Much to my inconvenience, I couldn’t use any of the techniques tied to the Darkfell. While the techniques weren’t nearly as famous in the demon continent as it was in the human domain, it didn’t matter.

‎There must be some sort of spy or information network where of the Darkfell in this continent. If word reach the Darkfell that someone was using their techniques here, they’d be on my ass.

‎So instead of resorting to using my main techniques, I was resorting to hand to hand combat.

‎I enhanced myself to the max using aether reinforcement, and both my reflections also did the same.

‎One of my reflections punched at the incoming wind bullets. The sheer power with which he threw that punch sent a wave of pressurized vacuum that displaced and destabilized the bullets, causing them to degrade to nothing.

‎Before the effects of both attacks could even fade away, I moved. The mirage I left in place hadn’t disappeared before my fist was swinging towards her the demoness’ temple.

‎Contrary to what I expected would happen, my fist didn’t hit the demoness’ face, instead she parried my fist with frightening ease, before her fist flew towards my chest.

‎She quickly withdrew her her fist however and turned to the side where my reflection had appeared with another punch aimed at her head.

‎Bang!

‎My reflection’s fist met her hastily put up defenses. From the reflection’s point of view, I felt a drag of wind resistance slowing me down just before my fist met her hands.

‎The demoness got pushed backwards but not much. Her legs carved deep tranches through the ground before she came to a stop.

‎"Tsk, such a troublesome ability." she clicked her tongue.

‎"So I’ve been told."

‎I smiled in return. But inwardly, I was grim. I could tell she wasn’t fighting at full strength yet, and even i wasn’t. What I was worried about was the others, Bran excluded. I feared they wouldn’t be able to withstand it if we went all out.
