When Daisy heard the woman’s words, she was stunned.
Si Yena was dead?
Seeing Daisy’s reaction, Mrs. Si was more triggered.
More and more cameras flashed in their direction as nobody wanted to miss such a show.
’’This woman used to be my daughter’s best friend yet she did this to her at a crucial juncture...’’ Mrs. Si coldly said as she looked at Daisy.
’’It’s true. I have always seen Si Yena and Daisy Chen together in events. Both of them seemed rather close to each other.’’

Daisy snapped out of her daze. She pulled out her hand from Mrs. Si’s grip and turned to leave.
’’You... Bitch, you stop right there... I won’t let you leave!"
While Daisy’s way was blocked, Mr. Lu and Mrs. Lu were watching the show with cold eyes from a distance.
’’What’s happening here?" Lu Xian had just finished a phone call but when he came back, he was greeted with the chaotic scene.
’’Ah Xian, don’t meddle into this matter,’’ Mrs. Lu said softly.
Lu Xian’s eyes narrowed, ’’What do you think I should not meddle in?"
He had just taken a step when Mr. Lu held his hand to stop him.
Mrs. Lu looked at him, ’’Your younger brother has gone abroad after the humiliation he felt in his own wedding. The woman left him standing alone on the altar in front of the whole society. Your elder brother was already in a poor shape but his health has deteriorated after he saw the amount of humiliation our family was put through. When had we ever suffered like that?"
The more Mrs. Lu spoke, the further she became angry, ’’And it’s all because of this woman. Even after all this, she still seems to have you wrapped around her little finger to the point that you transferred a huge amount of your shares to her. She became the CEO of Chen Corporations and she is basking in all the glory. Did she think no retribution will come her way!"
Lu Xian looked at his parents in disappointment. Then he gazed at Daisy who seemed to be stuck at a spot. The matter with her best friend’s death was delicate and if she acted wilfully, then she would only ruin her reputation which would not have been a big deal if she was not the current CEO of Chen Corporations. He knew the efforts she had gone through to stabilize the company’s conditions and stock prices.
Just as Lu Xian had taken a step forward, Mrs. Lu’s eyes teared up, ’’That woman has ruined our peace and you still choose her. You can’t even see her being criticized, Ah Xian,’’ the woman nodded to herself, ’’Mother won’t make things difficult for you. Go protect her if you want to.’’
Mr. Lu’s eyes darkened as he looked at his wife.
But Mrs. Lu continued speaking without looking at him, ’’However, if you choose to protect her today then mother and father will believe that you don’t need us anymore. You have already become and adult who could make his own choices. We will leave...’’
’’Mom!" Lu Xian turned to look at the woman, his face ugly.
But the woman did not look at him at all.
Lu Xian gritted his teeth and clenched his fists but in the end, he did not budge from his spot as he turned to look at Daisy at the distance.
Mr. Lu and Mrs. Lu exchanged glances and saw joy in each other’s eyes. No matter what, as long as Lu Xian did not meddle in this matter, then it would show their stance as the host of the party.
If Daisy defended herself at this juncture, it would only seem fake and people with their creative minds will make up conspiracy theories. If Daisy did not defend herself, people would still keep talking about this matter. Two out of every three people would believe that she had something to do with Si Yena’s death or else why would the Si Family attempt to frame her?
In either cases, the reputations of the Chens will take a hit even if there was no immediate impact. Then it would not matter if she had a hand in Si Yena’s death or not.
Mr. Lu was also pleased about this situation. Considering the four major families of Beijing, the Lu Family and Chen Family had always had the same standing when compared to Si Family which was the weakest and the Qins who were most enigmatic and not to be underestimated.
After Daisy ran away from the wedding, the reputation of the Lus took a hit. But after the recent scandal of the Chen Family, their shares values had dropped rapidly. Although the situation was optimised after Daisy became the CEO, they still were not on the same standing as Lus in the business front.
However, out of nowhere, Lu Xian just handed 10% of his shares to Daisy and such a risky move immense disappointed Mr. Lu who had complete faith in his son’s abilities.
Lu Xian naturally did not know about his parents struggles. He was having a battle in his mind.
He thought it would be over soon but the more Mrs. Si spoke, the more poison she spewed at Daisy.

It was a man who was dressed in an all black outfit. His face was covered in a frost that prevented anyone from approach him and his eyes were filled with coldness and mockery as they scanned the surroundings.
Lu Xian recognized the man at one glance. He was the lost child of the Qin Family who had recently regained his family’s recognition and reclaimed his position as the rightful heir of the family.

Compared to the Chen Family and Lu Family which were high profile and all over the tabloids, the Qin Family was a force that seemed to be lurking in the shadows, never making an appearance.
The Old Master of Qin Family had two sons and when the first son took over the position of the company head, the Qins used to be in the limelight. But then for mysterious reasons, he was disowned by the old master and then second son, who was abnormally cunning and intellectual became the master of the Qin Family but the Qin Family became low-key.
Only recently were they stirring winds as they found two of their sons, Logan Qin and Maxim Warner. While Maxim Warner was the son of the current head of the family, Logan Qin was the son of the previous master of the Qin Family who was disowned by the old master. But since he was the eldest son, he was trained personally by the current master and ready to inherit the position of the CEO.
Lu Xian felt extremely bitter and disappointed that he did not act time and gave the chance to another man. But at the same time, he was relieved because the Qins and Chens shared a special relationship. Diana Chen was engaged to Maxim Warner and the Qins treated Diana as their daughter-in-law. So, under such circumstances, the only reason why Logan would step out of the crowd would be to stand up for his sister-in-law’s elder sister as they were relatives.

His words caused a stir in the crowd but the man did not give anyone a chance to question him because those words were not spoken by Daisy in her defense and he had no place in this conversation. But since he had spoke with such surety, that only meant he knew what he was doing.
Mrs. Si’s eyes burned with anger.
Once his words were spoken, Logan did not pay attention to anyone. Instead, he stretched his hand towards Daisy.
