Chapter 293: Yang Qingxi: "Farewell, Sister Song!...RIP!"
At this moment, Song Meilin stood on the very edge between life and death, though she herself remained completely unconscious. The reason behind her desperate situation was none other than the Old Ancestor’s direct order.
Following her master’s command without the slightest hesitation, Wu Yuna had brought the unconscious Song Meilin to this secluded chamber before forcing a crimson Dharma Pill down her throat.
Ordinarily, this pill was used by disciples during breakthrough attempts, providing the spiritual energy necessary to push past their limits. However, the one Wu Yuna had prepared was anything but ordinary.
The pill contained an unimaginably violent concentration of Yin Energy, hundreds of times more potent than a normal breakthrough pill. Its effects were equally terrifying. The overwhelming Yin Energy would tear through the cultivator’s meridians like a raging flood, threatening to rip their body apart from within. A single mistake would end with their entire body exploding before the breakthrough could even be completed.
Perhaps only a once-in-a-lifetime genius possessed the talent to survive such a reckless method.
Even if Song Meilin somehow managed to reach the Golden Core Stage, her cultivation path would be left in ruins. The damage inflicted upon her body would permanently cripple her future potential, while her lifespan would inevitably suffer as well.
None of that mattered to Wu Yuna.nHer responsibility was painfully simple. The Old Ancestor had ordered to force Song Meilin to break through.
As long as that objective was accomplished, everything else—including her future, her talent, and even her life span—was irrelevant.
"AAAHHH!"
Song Meilin’s agonized scream echoed throughout the chamber as the violent Yin Energy surged uncontrollably through every inch of her body. Her pale skin quickly became covered with thin crimson cracks, resembling delicate porcelain that had been struck by a hammer. Every breath she took seemed to push those fractures wider, as though she were a vessel moments away from shattering.
Despite her miserable condition, Wu Yuna merely watched with cold, indifferent eyes. She carefully fed her a little vial to regulate the violent energy whenever it threatened to kill Song Meilin outright, ensuring she remained alive just long enough to complete the breakthrough.
At that very moment, two figures rushed toward the chamber after sensing the tremendous disturbance.

Su Mo and Yang Qingxi had arrived.
Before Wu Yuna could even react to their presence, an overwhelming sword intent swept toward her like a tidal wave. Dozens of flying blades shot through the air with frightening precision, aiming directly for her vital points.
Wu Yuna instantly turned around.
Dark Yin Energy enveloped her hands as sharp black claws extended from her fingertips. With a single sweeping motion, she slashed through the incoming swords, cutting them cleanly in half before they could reach her.
Unfortunately for her, that had never been Su Mo’s real attack.
The shattered blades suddenly melted in midair.
Instead of falling to the ground, the liquefied metal twisted together like living mercury before wrapping itself tightly around Wu Yuna’s wrists.
*Click*
A pair of sturdy metallic restraints locked into place.
Wu Yuna instinctively tried to tear them apart.
The confidence on her face disappeared almost immediately. Her eyes widened ever so slightly.
Su Mo slowly walked toward her with a smug grin that made Yang Qingxi silently wonder whether this was really the time to look so pleased with himself.
"Looks familiar, right?" he asked with a chuckle. "Yep. It’s the same metal you used to tie us up before. Consider it returning the favor."
He casually dusted off his sleeves before smiling even wider.
"Anyway, you can take a little nap for now. We still have plenty of things to talk about later... Shen Xing’s Mom."
Without giving Wu Yuna another opportunity to resist, Su Mo activated his illusion technique.
Since both of her hands had already been restrained, she had no effective way to defend herself against the mental attack. Her pupils quickly lost their focus as the illusion completely took hold, leaving her standing motionless with an emotionless expression.
The triumphant smile on Su Mo’s face slowly faded.
A complicated emotion quietly surfaced in its place.
"...Why did it have to be her mom?"
Yang Qingxi glanced at him before shaking her head.
"Now isn’t the time to think about that."
Her expression immediately became serious as she pointed toward Song Meilin.
"Look at Sister Song. She’s in a terrible condition."
Su Mo’s attention instantly shifted.

His crimson Devil’s Eyes activated, carefully observing every strand of spiritual energy flowing through Song Meilin’s body. The deeper he looked, the darker his expression became.
"This is bad."
Yang Qingxi frowned.
"What did you find?"
"The Yin Energy inside her body is far too violent." Su Mo spoke while continuing to observe her condition. "It’s destroying her from the inside, and she doesn’t possess sufficient Yang Energy to suppress and refine it. At this rate, her body won’t last much longer."
Yang Qingxi quickly proposed the first solution that came to mind.
"What about your healing technique?"
Su Mo slowly shook his head.
"I’m not confident it’ll work."
"Why?"
"My healing technique can repair injuries, but it can’t eliminate this violent Yin Energy." He sighed softly before continuing. "If I simply inject Yang Energy into her while the Yin Energy is already this unstable, the two forces will violently clash inside her body instead of balancing each other."
His voice grew heavier.
"If she can’t refine it. That would make her explode even sooner."
Yang Qingxi’s expression stiffened.
The situation was much worse than she had imagined. It seemed, neither of them had a solution.
After a brief silence, Yang Qingxi suddenly turned toward the motionless Wu Yuna.
"If she created this situation, she should know how to deal with it."
Su Mo nodded before reinforcing the illusion.
"Wu Yuna."
She answered immediately, her expression completely blank.
"...Yes."
"How do we help her?"
"There is a small vial inside my waist pouch."
Her voice remained flat and mechanical.
"It won’t solve the problem, but it can temporarily calm the violent Yin Energy and reduce her pain."
Yang Qingxi wasted no time.
She quickly searched Wu Yuna’s waist pouch until she found a tiny jade vial hidden among several medicinal bottles. Pulling out the cork, she carefully helped Song Meilin drink its contents.
The effect appeared almost immediately.
The previously raging Yin Energy settled slightly, allowing the cracks spreading across Song Meilin’s body to stop widening.

Her painful expression relaxed just a little.
Only a little.
Su Mo observed everything through his Devil’s Eyes before quietly exhaling.
"It bought us some time...but not much."
His gaze remained fixed on Song Meilin.
The chamber fell silent once again. Yang Qingxi finally broke it.
"How do we completely return her to normal?"
Under Su Mo’s illusion, Wu Yuna answered without hesitation.
"Make her consummate with a strong male, who has powerful and pure Yang energy inside them."
Yang Qingxi blinked.
"Powerful Yang Energy?"
She frowned thoughtfully.
"Where exactly are we supposed to find someone like—"
Her voice abruptly stopped.
Silence descended upon the room.
Very slowly, both she and Su Mo realized the same answer at the exact same moment.
Yang Qingxi turned her head toward him. Su Mo awkwardly looked back.
For several long seconds, neither of them spoke.
Finally, Yang Qingxi narrowed her eyes and coldly pointed a finger at him.
"Don’t you dare think about it."
"I didn’t think anything."
Su Mo immediately defended himself, sounding thoroughly aggrieved.
"If you had," Yang Qingxi replied with an icy stare, "you wouldn’t be alive right now."
Her voice was frighteningly calm, making Su Mo instinctively straighten his back.
Fortunately, Yang Qingxi had her Heart Listening ability activated from the very beginning. She knew Su Mo genuinely hadn’t entertained any improper thoughts regarding Song Meilin. Otherwise, she wasn’t entirely sure she would have been able to restrain herself.
Seeing the increasingly dangerous atmosphere, Su Mo wisely decided to change the subject before his life expectancy became any shorter.

"So... how are we supposed to save her?"
Yang Qingxi folded her arms and looked at the unconscious Song Meilin before letting out a long sigh.
"If saving her really requires something like that," she declared with complete seriousness, "then it’s better to let her rest peacefully."
She even clasped her hands together with a mournful expression.
"Sorry, Sister Song. This junior is incompetent and couldn’t save you. Next year, I’ll definitely burn incense for you."
After pausing dramatically, she added,
"Besides, you’ve already lived past sixty years. That’s not exactly a short life."
Su Mo’s mouth twitched uncontrollably.
"She’s still breathing," he pointed out helplessly. "Why are you already preparing for her memorial?"
Yang Qingxi simply shrugged. "So what? From everything you’ve said, doesn’t that basically mean she’s beyond saving? It’s not like I would let you sleep with her."
Su Mo couldn’t even argue with her logic. Instead, he turned toward the expressionless Wu Yuna.
"Why was she forced into this situation in the first place?"
