Chapter 294: Dual Cultivation!
"My master ordered me to force her breakthrough," Wu Yuna answered mechanically under the effects of the illusion.
Su Mo slowly nodded.
"If that’s the case, then the Old Ancestor never intended to kill her."
He narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.
"How were you planning to keep her alive afterward?"
Wu Yuna answered without hesitation.
"I would continue suppressing the violent Yin Energy inside her body so it wouldn’t explode. Once it reached its most volatile state, Master would personally come to comsummate with her to stabilize the energy and save her life."
The explanation instantly revealed the Old Ancestor’s original plan.
For a brief moment, silence filled the chamber.
Su Mo and Yang Qingxi exchanged glances before arriving at exactly the same conclusion.
"What a disgusting old pervert," Yang Qingxi muttered with visible disgust.
Su Mo silently nodded in agreement.

He wasn’t interested in criticizing the man’s personality any further. There were more important things to worry about.
"Where is he now?"
Wu Yuna replied in the same emotionless tone.
"Master has long since lost the ability to perform that method normally. He requires the life essence of young male to be able to comsummate. He had already gone to collect them from the young disciples."
The revelation was shocking enough to qualify as the sect ancestor’s biggest scandal.
Unfortunately....Neither Su Mo nor Yang Qingxi cared about gossip at a time like this.
"When will he return?" Yang Qingxi asked.
"Approximately fifteen minutes."
Su Mo frowned deeply.
Fifteen minutes.
That wasn’t much time.
Suddenly, an idea surfaced in his mind.
"I might have a way to extract the Yin Energy from her body."
The moment those words left his mouth, an overwhelming chill ran down his spine.
Every instinct in his body screamed danger.
Without even looking, he could already feel Yang Qingxi’s gaze piercing straight through him.
"Qingxi," he said as quickly as possible, "you misunderstood. That’s absolutely not what I meant."
Yang Qingxi’s palm was already glowing with violent spiritual fluctuations.
She stopped just short of using her explosion technique on him.
"...Explain."
Her single word carried enough pressure to make Su Mo feel that even his Immortal Body wouldn’t survive her if he answered incorrectly.
Thankfully, he had prepared evidence.
He immediately took out the Ghost Apple Plant from his storage ring.
"This."
As he spoke, he carefully placed the strange plant over Song Meilin’s chest.
One of its slender roots slowly extended before gently embedding itself into the robes above her heart, anchoring itself without harming her body.
Yang Qingxi looked at the plant curiously.
"The Ghost Apple Plant can absorb the Yin Energy from inside someone too?"
"It should."
Su Mo nodded while carefully observing its reaction.
"The Yin Energy inside her body hasn’t been completely refined yet. That’s precisely why she requires an external source of pure Yang Energy to help stabilize and refine it. A strong male can definitely help her through Dual Cultivation."
As the Ghost Apple Plant gradually absorbed the violent Yin Energy, the previously unstable aura surrounding Song Meilin visibly weakened.
Although her condition was still critical, it had finally stopped deteriorating.
Yang Qingxi quietly stared at Su Mo for several seconds. Then she spoke.
"...You seem to know quite a lot about dual cultivation."

Su Mo immediately sensed another life-or-death crisis approaching.
If he answered carelessly, Yang Qingxi would probably blast him into ashes before the Old Ancestor even had the chance to attack him.
So he decided to turn the tables.
"Of course."
"I was actually planning to buy a dual cultivation technique once I accumulated enough contribution points."
Yang Qingxi’s expression instantly darkened.
Before she could explode—both literally and figuratively—Su Mo hurriedly continued.
"You know how little spiritual energy exists in our world. Cultivating normally is incredibly slow there, and the system itself depends heavily on luck. If two partners cultivate together using an orthodox dual cultivation method, both sides can improve much faster."
Yang Qingxi froze. She hadn’t expected that answer.
A faint blush gradually spread across her fair cheeks.
"You mean..."
She suddenly found speaking unusually difficult.
"...you mean... the two of us...?"
Her voice became quieter with every word.
Her face was now completely red.
Su Mo, however, chose the wisest possible course of action.
He pretended not to notice anything.
"We’re running out of time."
With a wave of his hand, he placed the unconscious Song Meilin inside the storage ring for safety.
"Let’s leave first and find somewhere to hide."
Wu Yuna silently walked ahead under the illusion’s control, leading them toward another hidden exit instead of the passage Wu Haruto had originally used.
Behind Su Mo, Yang Qingxi remained completely distracted.
Her thoughts were in mess. She secretly glanced at Su Mo’s back.
What exactly did he mean earlier?
Was that... supposed to be a proposal?
Who in the world proposed to someone by discussing dual cultivation technique?
No...
She folded her arms, trying to calm herself.
Later she would definitely make him explain everything properly.
The way he said it almost sounded as if he only wanted two cultivators to cooperate for cultivation purposes.
Absolutely not.
That kind of relationship was impossible.
If it was... marriage...
Then... M-maybe...
She could... c-consider it.
But that’s only after he made himself perfectly clear. Hmph!
Still blushing from her own wandering thoughts, Yang Qingxi nearly walked into Wu Yuna, before realizing they had already emerged from the hidden underground chamber.
Instead of the route taking them to the Sect Master’s office, Wu Yuna had led them out through an entirely different concealed passage which opened at the disciples training ground.

The moment they stepped outside, Su Mo immediately activated his Transformation Technique.
Their appearances rapidly changed.
Their faces became plain and forgettable, while their clothes transformed into the standard black robes worn by ordinary disciples of the sect.
Just as he finished disguising everyone, Su Mo’s eyes landed on Wu Yuna.
He suddenly remembered what she had revealed only moments ago.
The Old Ancestor was currently searching the sect for young male disciples to steal their life essence.
A shiver instantly ran through Su Mo’s entire body.
"...Nope."
Without wasting another second, he activated his Transformation Technique again.
This time, the ordinary-looking male disciple disappeared.
Standing in his place was an equally ordinary-looking female disciple.
Yang Qingxi blinked once.
Finally, she looked at him with an utterly speechless expression.
"...Your survival instincts are remarkably well-developed."
Su Mo coughed awkwardly.
"I prefer to call it being cautious."

A few minutes later, the Old Ancestor returned to the hidden underground chamber with vigorous steps and an unusually cheerful expression.
Having stolen an ample amount of life essence from several unfortunate young disciples, he felt decades younger atleast in that aspect. His aging body was overflowing with vitality, and the excitement in his heart was difficult to conceal.
However, the smile on his face froze the moment he entered the chamber to do the deed.
It was empty. Song Meilin was missing. Wu Yuna was also nowhere to be seen.
The restraints, formations, and prison that had been carefully prepared were now completely deserted.
"...Yuna."
His calm voice echoed through the chamber. No one answered.
An unpleasant feeling quietly surfaced within his heart.
Without wasting another moment, he immediately shifted his spiritual consciousness to possess the Pishacha guarding the prison elsewhere inside the sect. The result was exactly what he feared.
Su Mo and Yang Qingxi had disappeared. Even the Pishachas had lost track of them.
The Old Ancestor slowly withdrew his spiritual sense.
His face remained completely expressionless, almost eerily calm, but beneath that tranquil exterior, his fury had already reached its peak.
This time, he had paid quite a price to prepare everything.
He had painstakingly gathered an enormous amount of life essence, and his body had finally recovered enough for the plan to proceed smoothly. Even now, the effects of that stolen vitality had yet to subside, making all his previous preparations utterly meaningless.
Everything...had been wasted.
"...Boy."
A cold smile gradually appeared on his aged face.
"You’ve made a very big mistake. What a pity. I want to give you a quick end."
The next instant, his spiritual sense spread throughout the sect before locking onto another target.

Far away inside the Sect Master’s office, Wu Haruto had just returned from a short meeting. Sitting behind his desk, he casually flipped through several documents while organizing the sect’s affairs when his body suddenly became rigid.
The Old Ancestor’s voice directly entered his mind.
["They’ve escaped. Mobilize the entire sect. We cannot allow them to leave."]
Wu Haruto was stunned for only a brief moment before immediately standing up.
"This junior understands."
As the connection ended, he slowly lowered his head with a complicated expression.
"If only we had started with a proper conversation..."
He let out a helpless sigh.
"...things never should have ended like this."
The poor Sect Master still believed this misunderstanding could be resolved peacefully.
