Chapter 45: Kidnapped
"I’m sure by now, you already know how Vivian had betrayed me and I want revenge. You want revenge too. So, why don’t we both work together to bring Vivian down?"
Cassandra stared at Arianna for a few seconds, as if contemplating if this was a trick.
She glanced around the cafe, searching for someone recording then. But instead of one person, she found several people recording them.
She’d completely forgotten that they were both famous.
Sitting in a cafe was definitely going to get heads turned just to look at them.
"Is this your way of trying to get rid of me?" Cassandra asked with a hushed tone, her eyes narrowed at Arianna.
Considering what Vivian had done to her in the past, it was only smart that she became more careful with who she interacted with, especially if that same person was the one who’d helped her enemy several times in the past.
Arianna shook her head. The question was stunning but she completely understood where Cassandra was coming from.
In the past, Arianna had tried everything possible to make Vivian a star.
Due to her major intervention during the time Vivian was still starting out, a lot of upcoming models became intimidated by her.
Thinking back to those things now, Arianna became highly ashamed of herself.
She shook her head.
"I’m not trying to get rid of you," she said with a small smile. "I want to help you because you deserved it. It’s the only right thing to do especially after what Vivian has done to you."
Cassandra scoffed. "But you always supported her evil deeds. You finally got a taste of how terrible of a human being she can be and now you want me to team up with you, just to make her pay?"
Arianna’s lips thinned into a straight line.
Years ago, Vivian had turned a blind eye to lots of Vivian’s schemes. She regretted doing that.
If only she’d held her accountable early on, then Vivian’s ego wouldn’t have grown past her height.
"That’s right," she replied. "I was too blind to notice her terrible deeds, and now, I need your help to make her pay."
Arianna’s main mission was to make Vivian loose everything she’d helped her grow, which includes her fame.
She’d already met with Leah and told her the plan she had. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the patience to wait until Vivian was rude to her juniors again. Most importantly, she wanted Vivian to regret everything she’d done, and what better way to make her feel that when the one person she’d always sabotaged in the industry overtakes her in success?
"Look, I know that you’ve gone through a lot in her hands and I never helped, but now, I’m willing to."
Cassandra stared at Arianna with a cocked up eyebrow.
"And how am I supposed to trust you? For all I know, this could just be a way for you to ruin me completely. You were once friends afterall."
Arianna immediately shook her head. Only remembering her past relationship with Vivian made goosebumps appear on her skin.
"Not anymore," she responded firmly. Vivian had made an enemy out of her, and she was going to make her regret her actions until she was satisfied. "If you agree to work together with me, I’ll help to get signed in with Starlife Entertainment. I’ve already told Leah about this, and she doesn’t seem to have any problem with it."
Cassandra paused for a second.
"Leah wants me back?" She asked as if her ears were playing tricks on her. "The same Leah that terminated our contract?"
Arianna’s lips thinned one more.
The more she heard Cassandra speak, the more she felt like they really needed to make it up to her even more.
Well, they did, considering how they’d treated her.
"Please give us a chance."
Cassandra stared at Arianna for the longest time possible. She didn’t want to accept that Arianna suddenly wanted to help her.
She’d seen on the internet that Logan, Arianna’s ex husband and Vivian were suddenly together.
She’d been shocked because Arianna had been the one who helped her reach where she was at the moment.
But then again, she wasn’t too shocked because it was Vivian afterall. She was an evil person who wanted everything for herself.
"I’ll think about it," Cassandra responded after careful thinking. Then she grabbed her bag and stood up. "I’ll let you know when I’ve made my decision."
Then she left.
Arianna’s shoulders slumped helplessly as she watched her leave the cafe.
There was a very high chance Cassandra wouldn’t get back to her. So she could only hope for a response back.
Arianna sipped the last of her milk shake right when she received a text from Daemon.
She read it.
Wanna come over later?
She stared at the text with a deep frown on her face.
She blinked and read it once again, but the context never changed.
She scoffed.
"Who does he think I am? A hooker?" She mumbled under her breath with her teeth gritting so tightly against each other.
Her thumb hovered above her phone screen, contemplating if she should send a reply or not.
After a moment, she shook her head. There was no need to do that.
He was already a crazy man. There was no need to indulge in his madness.
Arianna picked up her bag and left the cafe.
Arianna stood by the side of the streets, ready to hail down a cab, but only a black van pulled over instead.
Her instincts instantly kicked in as she stepped back, ready to move away but the door opened and three men jumped at her, right in the middle of the streets and grabbed her arm.
"Let me go!" She screamed.
She readied herself to attack but a napkin was suddenly placed over her nose as she was shoved inside the van.
She knew what would happen if she dared to inhale the substance in the napkin.
She struggled to get out of their grip but every attempt went futile.
Eventually, Arianna caved in and inhaled the substance.
Her vision became dizzy before everything suddenly went black as they took her to an unknown location.
At Daemon’s mansion...
"Don’t you think it’s time to change your bandage? It’s already filled with your blood."
Daemon stared at the huge bandage that was wrapped around his chest. The injury came from the enemies that’d burnt their warehouse to the ground.
The bullet had narrowly missed his heart and had only left him with a deep graze that still burned as if the bullet was still inside of him.
"I want Arianna to change it," he replied shamelessly.
Frederick gave him a weird look while taking a step back.
"And what makes you think she’s going to do that? She hates you, remember?"
Daemon smiled at nothing, only creeping Frederick out even more.
"I know she is. When she sees this huge bandage on me, she’ll act concerned and change it for me because I’m her husband," Daemon answered while staring into space.
Frederick tried checking Daemon’s temperature, but his hand was instantly grabbed by his brother’s while a deep dark glare settled on him.
"Ouch! Let me go. Do you also want to break my arm like that psychopath did?"
"Josephine?"
Frederick shuddered at the name.
The last time he’d seen Josephine was the night when she’d threatened to shoot his brains out if he didn’t take her to Daemon’s house after he’d taken Arianna away while she was unconscious.
It had been a hellish day especially after she’d thrown him out the ring like he weighed nothing. Thinking about that moment made all the hair on his back stand on their ends.
"She’s a psychopath."
Daemon stared at his brother with a flat expression. He opted to say something, but shook his head.
"Have you found anything about Levi yet?" He asked, changing the subject.
Frederick released a sigh before he responded. "Nothing yet. He’s still into hiding, but is confidently sending his men after you. He’s untraceable at this point."
Daemon gave the situation a thought.
If Levi didn’t want to be found, then there was a very high chance they wouldn’t be able to find him no matter what they did.
But should they relax and wait for him to make another move? Certainly not.
Daemon reached out for his phone to see his unreplied text.
"Why hasn’t she responded yet?" He wondered loudly.
It’s already been four hours since the message was sent.
Without hesitating, he quickly called her, but her phone was unreachable.
His heart sank to her stomach.
This has only happened once, and when it did, he found her in a deep forest, ready to be a meal to a pack of wolves.
"What’s wrong?" Frederick asked when he saw Daemon’s change in expression.
"Get your computer here fast!" He ordered with an edge to his tone. "Arianna has been kidnapped."
