Chapter 40: Starlife Entertainment
A week later...
The Wesley family had already returned to New York. Cassian had given Daemon the lists of weapons they needed and the latter had handed them every single thing they needed, even adding a few extra nades.
As always, Cassian threatened Daemon not to harm his sister else he was going to regret it.
Josephine didn’t go back with them. She wasn’t comfortable with Arianna staying in Las Vegas by herself anymore.
A few years ago, they didn’t need to worry about anything because she was living a harmless life, but now, she is married to the son of their father’s enemy.
If one day, daemon decides to show his true colors, no one will be able to reach out to her. And before they knew what was happening, she could already be dead.
Nicholas on the other hand didn’t say goodbyes to Arianna before they boarded the plane.
Arianna had tried to talk to him on several occasions but he would always ignore her.
Her father told her not to worry. He would eventually come around and apologize to her.
It’s also been a week since Arianna had seen Daemon last.
He’d cared for her, and gotten worried about her own health even when she’d ignored it.
Arianna didn’t want to make assumptions. Whatever he was planning, she wasn’t falling for it.
Arianna stood in front of Starlife Entertainment company.
It was one of the biggest companies in Europe that housed several influential artists from around the world.
It was the company that Vivian was signed into.
The same company that Arianna had helped Vivian get signed into years ago after she’d come to her asking for help.
Just like Logan, Arianna had helped Vivian build her career.
Despite coming from a rich family, Vivian needed her help.
Apparently, being the daughter of a powerful family such as the Griffins meant that you must do something related to the family’s business. Vivian had no interest in business, only modeling, so she couldn’t ask her parents for help to get her signed into a company.
She secretly took auditions and submitted them without letting her parents find out about it. But she was always rejected.
Arianna dived in and helped her get her first gig seven years ago. After her third gig, Vivian slowly started to get recognized in the modeling industry. But she still needed proper guidance which Arianna had offered to do for her without Vivian even having to ask.
Seven years later, Vivian has become one of the most popular models and highest paid models in the industry, all because of her help.
But what did she get in return, only betrayal.
Arianna sighed as she marched into the building.
Some of the staff members quickly recognized her and bowed in respect as they greeted her. She usually paid visits to the company because she knew the CEO who happened to be her friend.
"Ma’am, it’s so great to finally see you again. I missed you so much," Emma, a young staff member, halted to say when she recognized her.
"How are you doing, Emma?" Arianna asked with a sweet smile on her lips.
"I’m doing alright." Emma blushed as she tucked her brown hair behind her ears. "Are you here to see madam?"
Arianna nodded. "That’s right. But don’t tell her I’m coming up, I want to surprise her."
Emma quickly nodded. "I won’t."
Arianna patted the girl on the shoulder before she walked towards the elevator, pressed the number of the floor she was heading to before the doors closed.
Not long after, the elevator arrived at her destined floor while the door dinged open.
It was the 35th floor, the highest floor in the building.
The artists walked around with their managers, talking about their schedules, while some crews passed by with their headlights and cameras, preparing for a photoshoot.
It was the normal occurrence for a company such as Starlife Entertainment.
Arianna responded to the greetings she received with a curt nod and a subtle smile as she made her way to the CEO’s office.
She gave a quick nod before she opened the door without waiting for the person to respond.
"I didn’t tell you to come in—" The person paused when she saw who was at her door. "Arianna!!"
"Leah!!" Arianna screamed back as she made her way to the woman and hugged her tightly.
"Where have you been?! I thought you’d forgotten about me!"
"You know I can never do such a thing."
Leah stared at Arianna with a downward smile.
Leah Vale, a thirty one year old jaw dropping beauty with caramel brown eyes that complimented her brown hair. At just a young age, she’d started a company with the support of no one, not even her family who’d wanted to assist with the financial cost because she wanted to build something for herself from scratch without using her family’s money.
She was the first person Arianna had met when she left her family in New York and immediately, they clicked because they were like the same person but in two different fonts—they wanted to live life away from the shelter of both their families.
Years ago, after Vivian had started to slowly get popular, Arianna had reached out to Leah for a favor, to sign Vivian in her company which the latter had done without hesitation, especially after she’d seen her past works.
"Come on, take a seat," Leah urged as she pulled Arianna towards her couch, completely abandoning her CEO seat. "So tell me, how have you been doing? I saw the things Vivian and Logan did to you, how have you been coping?"
"I’ve been doing alright. It’s all in the past now, and there’s nothing that can be done about it anymore," Arianna started, then she took Leah’s hands and held it in hers. "But I need you to do me a favor about Vivian."
Leah held her gaze for a while. "Do you want me to terminate my contract with her?"
