Chapter 39: Held At A Gun Point

"I can feed myself." Arianna reached for the fork but Daemon easily swatted her hand away.

"Open your mouth." He held the fork right in her face like he was confident she wasn’t going to swat it out of his hands if she didn’t have enough.

Arianna glared at him. Her blood boiled in fact, at the way he treated her as if she was a child.

"We don’t have all day now, malyshka. Baby girl." He said calmly. "I also have to treat your injuries and you need to have your drugs afterward."

"I’m not your baby girl," she said through gritted teeth.

Arianna wasn’t fluent in Russian, but she understood bits of what he said in that language.

Daemon was also only half Russian. His father was Russian, but had chosen his wife’s name after their wedding.

"Do you prefer my love?" Daemon asked with a grin tugging at the corner of his lips.

Arianna cursed and stood up but daemon quickly pulled her back down.

"What’s your pro—" Arianna didn’t get to finish her words when Daemon suddenly forced the fork past her lips.

"There." He said as if he’d just won a lottery.

Arianna cleaned her lips with the back of her palm as she chewed. He’d just forced the food down her throat.

"We can continue it this way or you let me feed you peacefully," he offered.

Arianna realized she had no choice. He wasn’t willing to budge. But then again, it was just feeding here. There was nothing wrong with that, right?

Daemon scooped out another piece and held it in front of her mouth.

She glared at him before parting her lips. And just like that, Daemon continued until each plate was finished.

They didn’t talk and simply got comfortable in the silence, it was almost natural.

When Daemon was done feeding Arianna, he reached for the medicines, pulled out a box of mentholated spirit and a cotton swab. He dabbed the cotton swab in the mentholated spirit and cleaned off her wounds.

She flinched here and there, so he moved gently.

She had so many things to say, especially with the way he was holding her as if she was some porcelain doll that was going to crack if the slightest bit of pressure was applied.

When he was done with that, he took out the drugs she needed to take by following the prescription that Ethan had given to him earlier.

He handed it to her and opened a bottle of water.

Arianna scanned the drugs before she looked up at him with a suspicious gaze.

Daemon cocked an eyebrow at her. "I hope you’re not expecting me to drink that just to prove my point again?"

Arianna didn’t respond.

Daemon’s jaws ticked but he knew she wouldn’t drink the drugs unless he tested them. They were like the food that he could just force down her throat.

Cursing under his breath, he took out a similar prescription, opened another bottled water and drank it.

Thankfully, they were mostly pain killers so he wasn’t too worried that he might land in the ER the next morning.

Arianna watched him, waiting for a reaction.

Five minutes passed, so when she didn’t see any difference in his reaction, she took her drugs.

Daemon sighed in relief.

Finally, they were done for the night.

"You can take a shower and rest for the night," he said as he stood up, ready to leave.

"I’m not staying here for the night. I just want to leave."

Daemon halted, and slowly turned to her.

"But you’re not leaving. You have to rest and that’s the only thing you’re going to be doing tonight."

Arianna’s fist clenched by her sides, her blood boiling once again.

She didn’t have her phone on her because she lost consciousness, which means it’s probably with Josephine, who was possibly searching for her already.

If Daemon thought he could successfully confine her in his house, then he was solely mistaken.

Daemon saw the fire blaze in her eyes and immediately knew she was already making her plans on escaping.

He sighed. He regretted not adding sleeping under one roof in their contract. Now, they have to live separately despite being married.

Daemon parted his lips to say something, but the sound of gunshots suddenly rang around the house.

"Stay here."

He immediately became alert as he pulled out his gun from the back of his pockets, cocked it and was ready to leave when he suddenly received a phone call.

He retrieved his phone from pockets and saw the name. It was Frederick.

Without wasting a second, he picked up the call.

"Your wife’s crazy sister is outside and she’s threatening to shoot the guards if they don’t open the gates!" He yelled into the phone.

"Tell your men to open the damn gates and bring out my sister, else, you’re going to find nothing but bodies, including your brother’s, when you step out of your mansion!" Josephine threatened.

Daemon cursed under his breath as he hung up on the phone.

He’d completely forgotten that Arianna wasn’t the only crazy daughter that Mr. Wesley had.

Her older sister was right outside, threatening to shoot his men.

He turned to Arianna who was waiting for him to speak.

"Your sister is right outside."

Outside...

The door opened to Josephine holding Frederick at a gunpoint.

The latter was already pale with not a single color in sight.

Despite being taller and stronger than her, he allowed himself to be held as a hostage when he could easily break out if he wanted to.

Daemon saw a few bruises on his face, and immediately knew he must have tried but failed.

Arianna quickly rushed to Josephine when she saw her. Josephine threw Frederick away like he was nothing and wrapped her arms around her sister.

"I’m glad that you’re alright. For a second, I thought he was finally showing his true colors," she said, her glare directed at Daemon.

’She’s my wife,’ he thought.
