Chapter 28: The Deal With Valentine

Silence fell over the private room. The silence lasted so long that the waiter returned with their food, placed it down, and left before Max could speak.

He looked at the man before him, wondering what kind of game he was playing. There was no way he would be willing to let Max keep having sex with Meredith. It didn’t make sense.

He had already lost his composure at the request. He no longer had the high ground, so he placed everything on the table and asked why.

"Valentine, I’m sure you’re a busy man. I’m not going to ask why you’re saying this, but I will forget that we’ve had this conversation. There isn’t a man in this universe who wants to be cuckolded. Unless it’s some kind of weird fetish. That’s your own business."

"Whatever you and Meredith have going on, I don’t want any part of it."

Valentine looked at Max. Max, who had already placed his card on the table, didn’t care and began to eat.

Valentine, sitting across from Max, wanted to sigh and wondered if he really wanted to do this. Thinking that Meredith had too much time on her hands recently, he spoke slowly and clearly.

"I do not have a fetish for cuckoldry. What I have a fetish for is money. Right now, you having sex with my wife is distracting her from my own affair."

"Hmm? Affair? You?"

Max swallowed his food and stared at Valentine. Max didn’t think Valentine was bad-looking. Plus, he had money. Women don’t care if you look like a creature under the bed if you have money.

"Yes, my affair. Since we are placing our cards on the table. I will be upfront with you. I need you to keep having sex with my wife so I can continue to have my own affair. If you can do that, I will pay you $30,000. I will forget I had ever seen you at my home."

Max leaned forward, pushing his plate to the side.

"That doesn’t make any sense. You can have an affair without me having sex with her. There’s something more going on. You said you’re putting all your cards on the table, but it doesn’t seem you are. Why should I help you?"

Valentine didn’t respond to the question. Whether there was something else in addition to the affair was none of Max’s business.

"We both know you’re in debt. If you don’t think $30,000 is enough, then make it $50,000."

On the surface, Max kept his expression neutral. Inside, he was already jumping for joy. Meredith’s cunt was top notch. He could have sex with her plus get paid to do it. Who wouldn’t take a job like that?

The only downside was the fact that she was still too fat for his taste. But who cares? Good pussy is still pussy.

Still, he said, "I feel like there’s a catch. Something is going on that you haven’t told me about. I’m not sure I feel safe taking any of this money."

"Smart man. But I suggest you not ask questions you don’t want the answer to. I only need you to keep her busy for a few months. I won’t ask for the money back."

The cheque he had placed on the table was still there.

Max took some time to think about it. He wasn’t sure he should take the money, but he had a secret weapon in case Valentine tried to blackmail him. It was a lesson he learned early after the debt collectors started chasing him.

Always record your conversations. You can use them as proof for a later time. It got him out of trouble quite a few times. He even made some money.

"Valentine, we’re both men. Let me ask you again, are you sure this is what you want? I won’t ask about your affair or anything you might be doing behind Meredith’s back. What I need to know now is this. Is the money you’re offering me legitimate?"

He wasn’t about to cash a cheque that was problematic. Getting amazing pussy with her husband knowing is completely different than going to prison. Prison would not be kind to him. He couldn’t afford to drop the soap.

Valentine cast an inquiring look at Max. "It’s legitimate. Why wouldn’t it be?"

"You have no idea about the kind of people there are in society. I can’t afford to go to prison."

Max sighed, and Valentine felt his eye twitch.

As he said this Max snatched up the cheque, folded it, and placed it in his pocket.

"Alright boss, I don’t need 50, I’ll take the 30," Max said as he pocketed the cheque. "I’ll make sure your wife is satisfied. Is there anything special you might want me to do with her?"

Max was now in business mode. Since a husband was willing to pay him for his services, he wouldn’t let go of the chance. If he wanted pictures, Max would charge extra for it.

Who knows, the guy might want a divorce someday. He could use the proof.

Max shrugged at his thoughts. He hoped that if he ever got married, he would never meet someone like him. Someone willing to ’take care of’ his wife while he makes plans. He wasn’t as generous as Valentine.

Anyway, he wasn’t married, and he was messing around with someone else’s relationship. It had nothing to do with him.

He saw a flash of anger cross Valentine’s face when he asked the question. He couldn’t help marvelling internally. So he was only pretending. He did care whether he had sex with her. It just wasn’t as important as whatever he was doing behind the scenes.

"Alright, forget I asked. Anyway, how many months do I need to do this?"

"Not long, three months at most."

"Fine, good to know."

Max nodded. He knew no man would want to know his woman was sleeping with someone else. He must have had a headache about this for days. In the end, his ’affair’ won out against letting his wife get railed.

Either way, they concluded their business, and Max left the cafe. He was full, and now he had more money than he knew what to do with.

Ha! He knew what to do with it. He needed to pay his debt. That stupid debt. Max cursed. Just wait, once he pays it off, he’s going to finally go after his dream.

For now, he wanted to pretend to be a little rich man a little while longer. His hand went to his pocket as he felt the paper lying there. He would make sure to cash it tomorrow
