Chapter 1701: Chapter 1687
Seeing Wen Zaozao’s hesitation, Chu Ge raised his hand to touch his nose, coughed lightly, and said, "Since you feel it’s difficult, you go to the pharmacy to ask, and I’ll go check on Zhou Ang’s condition for you."
Wen Zaozao looked up at him.
"By the way, ask the doctor if Zhou Ang’s current condition is suitable for long-distance travel."
If it isn’t suitable, we’ll have to think of another way.
Wen Zaozao lightly pressed her lips together, her grateful eyes looking at Chu Ge, and nodded, "Thank you."
Chu Ge laughed, "It’s nothing troublesome, but you should think it over. Right now, there are still some trivial matters in life hindering you. You can choose not to meet him, but once you set off, you’ll be seeing each other day and night. Are you sure you want to continue like this?"
Wen Zaozao felt a bit intimidated by Chu Ge’s sharp gaze, and she quickly lowered her head, her eyes flickering, "We’ll talk about the future later. Right now, our priority is to find the Blood Worm."
Chu Ge knew Wen Zaozao was avoiding the issue again, but forcing it would only be counterproductive.
"Think about it yourself, I won’t say much else. What floor is he on?" Chu Ge asked.
"On the seventh floor, just take the elevator up, turn left when you exit, and room 707 is there."
Chu Ge nodded slightly, and upon reaching the seventh floor, he noticed that it was the VIP floor, with each ward being a private single room.
He walked to Zhou Ang’s room and happened to hear Zhou Ang’s voice from inside.
"Are you saying that while I was out, the person who saved me came to see me again?"
Zhou Ang’s voice was full of doubt.
The nursing lady nodded, "That’s right, they even bought some fruit. It’s really strange. I told them you’d be back soon, but they seemed in a hurry to leave after dropping off the stuff. Their concern for you is too unusual. If I didn’t know better, I’d think they were the culprit."
Zhou Ang sat on the head of the bed, squinting at the floor. According to the nursing lady, the person always came to see him when he wasn’t there. Could it be a coincidence?
"Auntie, if that person comes again next time, please be sure to hold them here for me."
No matter what, they saved him, and he owed them a thank you—a debt of gratitude that had to be expressed in person.
"Okay, if they come again, I’ll make sure to hold them here."
The nursing lady sighed, then turned to fetch some hot water, only to find Chu Ge standing at the door.
"Who are you looking for?"
The nursing lady curiously walked forward to ask.
Chu Ge smiled, walked in, "I’m here to see him."
Zhou Ang didn’t expect Chu Ge to visit him and was momentarily stunned, "Chu Ge? Why are you here?"
He asked, glancing behind Chu Ge, not seeing the person he wanted to see, and felt slightly disappointed.
Chu Ge didn’t miss the disappointment in his eyes, sat on the sofa opposite him, and said with a smile, "Zaozao went to the pharmacy."
Zhou Ang immediately looked up at him, "The pharmacy? Is she uncomfortable?"
Chu Ge shook his head, "No, it’s not that. We couldn’t find the medicine today, so we decided to check at the hospital."
Zhou Ang involuntarily frowned, "Is the medicine that rare? Even the drugstore doesn’t have it?"
Chu Ge nodded.
"What’s its name? I’ll ask my friends outside the city to help look for it."
Zhou Ang asked instinctively, and then realizing, he lightly slapped his forehead, "Oh right, it’s called bloodworm. My memory almost failed me."
He called several of his friends from out of town, asking them to help find the medicine, and once everything was arranged, five minutes had passed.
The disinfectant smell filled Chu Ge’s nostrils, creating a sense of repulsion. He remembered the joke he made when he first arrived at the hospital.
Upon reflection, he realized he had been in this city for almost a month.
"By the way, what did the doctor say about your health?"
Chu Ge asked, as they planned to depart the day after tomorrow—two days of travel, and if all went well, they’d reach Wuling Mountain on the third day.
But he was genuinely worried about Zhou Ang’s health.
Zhou Ang waved his hand, "I’m fine."
But as soon as he spoke, the nursing lady couldn’t help but interject, "What do you mean fine? Mr. Zhou, you must follow the doctor’s advice. The doctor said your body isn’t fit for strenuous activity right now, and they emphasized this after today’s check-up."
Zhou Ang’s face darkened at the nursing lady’s chatter.
"Chu Ge, really, I’m fine. I’ll just ask the doctor for more medicine."
Zhou Ang was worried that he might delay the trip, so he hurriedly spoke.
Chu Ge understood Zhou Ang’s anxiety. He learned from Wen Zaozao that they had been searching for Yechen King’s Tomb for many years. Each time hope turned to disappointment, weakening their already fragile resolve.
Now that they finally had a lead, they wouldn’t miss the chance.
So, Chu Ge could understand Zhou Ang’s feelings.
"What did the doctor say?" Chu Ge asked, still thinking that health should come first. Anyway, they hadn’t found the Blood Worm medicine yet, so delaying a bit wasn’t impossible.
But he overlooked how eager Zhou Ang and Wen Zaozao were. If they hadn’t seen hope, perhaps they would consider their health and delay the trip.
But now, they were certain of the Yechen King’s Tomb location and sure of the Wuling Mountain’s location. Especially Wen Zaozao, having seen the will left by her father.
Chu Ge couldn’t fully empathize with that urgent desire.
Zhou Ang’s eyes flickered, "I didn’t ask."
Indeed, he hadn’t inquired about his physical condition since waking up. One, because he understood his bodily condition—he usually just needed a few days’ rest. Two, he was afraid to hear what he didn’t want to hear from the doctor, especially at this critical moment.
"I’ll ask for you."
Chu Ge stood up and walked out; Zhou Ang didn’t stop him. Actually, it was good to ask—getting a clear answer would give him peace of mind.
Chu Ge walked to the nurse’s station and asked the nurse on duty, "Which is the attending doctor for Zhou Ang in bed seven?"
The nurse turned her head and yelled towards the office, "Director Wang!"
Chu Ge touched his nose, the nurse was rather brusque, thanked her, and walked to the doctor’s office door.
Just as Director Wang came out from inside, "What’s up? Why are you calling me?"
They met face to face, bumping into each other.
