Chapter 207: Chapter 106: Your Holy Light Angel Isn’t All That Great

As expected.

Even a powerful wanted criminal would easily end up a pauper after being on the run for so long.

But fortunately, there was Andre, their little bringer of fortune.

By that calculation, the loot from both sources combined was worth nearly Fifty Thousand Gold Coins.

Split three ways, each of them would get over sixteen thousand Gold Coins.

Didn’t this mean that the "Raven’s Whisper" Magic Staff Lynch had just bought was almost entirely paid for by the young master Andre?

’What a great guy...’

Lynch offered him a moment of silence, then gathered everything up. He deftly tucked the Space Ring into an inner pocket of his magic robe, his movements practiced and fluid.

Then, with a wave of his hand, he stored the Crimson Reaper’s corpse in his Space Ring as well.

Seeing that the tracks were more or less cleared, he got up, called out to Amadis, then dismissed his Undead Army and began to move stealthily into the depths of the wilderness.

After traveling several more miles in the dark and confirming their surroundings were safe, Lynch finally stopped.

He unfurled the Death Banner once more, summoned Red Rabbit, and swung himself onto its back.

Meanwhile, Amadis summoned a Skeleton Warhorse of her own.

The horse had a sturdy frame, with green Soul Fire flickering in its eye sockets. A full set of saddle and tack was fitted to its back, clearly marking it as her usual mount.

She leaped lightly onto the horse’s back. Dressed in her hunting attire, she cut a dashing and heroic figure.

This local Skeleton Warhorse wasn’t as imposing as their mentor’s Undead Warhorse from the Netherworld, but it was more than adequate for transportation.

Seeing this, Avril subconsciously started walking toward Lynch, intending to share Red Rabbit with him.

But Amadis was quicker. She grabbed Avril’s wrist, a sly smile in her violet eyes. "Little junior, Red Rabbit’s spine is terribly bony. Why don’t you come squeeze in with me? My Skeleton’s saddle is a bit wider."

Without waiting for a reply, she pulled the bewildered Avril onto the horse, seating her in front.

Though reluctant, Avril could only sit obediently, her small hands gripping the iron ring on the front of the saddle.

"Off we go, little junior!" Amadis laughed lightly, and the Skeleton Warhorse immediately broke into a gallop, clattering off into the distance.

Red Rabbit followed close behind.

One after the other, the two Undead mounts carried the trio swiftly away from the troublesome area.

Traveling through the night, the three made excellent time.

As the morning glow began to fill the sky, they arrived at a secluded farmhouse about ten to fifteen miles outside of Orlando.

Because it was not far from the North Wind Legion’s garrison, the farmhouse was relatively safe, and merchant caravans and travelers often chose to rest here.

The farmhouse was run by a simple, honest old couple. Seeing that Lynch and his companions had an extraordinary air about them and were also generous, they enthusiastically cleared out guest rooms for them to rest in and brought them hot soup and coarse bread.

The three of them were indeed exhausted. After a quick meal, they each retired to their rooms to rest.

They slept soundly until the afternoon.

When Lynch woke up, he felt much more refreshed.

After the two women woke up, Lynch had another small meal with them before calling them both up to the attic.

However, Lynch didn’t speak right away. Instead, he dispatched some Squirrel Skeletons to scout the surroundings. Only after confirming there was no risk did he breathe a sigh of relief.

"Alright, it’s safe now. Let’s sort through and divide last night’s spoils," Lynch said, spreading everything they had looted—aside from the corpse—out on the attic’s clean wooden floor.

Magic Staffs, gold notes, Gemstones, Scrolls, Magic Items, and two Space Rings... they covered almost half the attic floor.

The main reason Lynch hadn’t gone back for the bodies of Andre and his guards was to avoid future complications.

The state of their bodies made it obvious they had died at the hands of the Crimson Reaper.

So, whether the military or people from Andre’s family came to investigate later, the killer would undoubtedly be the Crimson Reaper...

Even if that spoiled heir’s father, the Count, managed to hire the Holy Light Church for a prophecy spell, the result would be the same. After all, the three of them had been far from the scene of the crime and had never even gotten close.

On the other hand, if they had tampered with the bodies, things would get complicated. One wrong move and they would have attracted a mountain of trouble.

By the same logic, Lynch had no intention of collecting the bounty on the Crimson Reaper for the time being.

Andre had just died, after all. The timing was too sensitive; it was best not to stir up trouble.

The bounty wasn’t going anywhere. It wouldn’t be too late to collect it after the commotion over Andre’s death died down.

Amadis and Avril agreed on this point. They weren’t hurting for money and saw no need to invite trouble over it.

They had already done a preliminary count of the loot, so Lynch had a rough idea of its value. Now, as he sorted and appraised each item, the process went quickly.

After slightly discounting the items of uncertain value and pricing the Crimson Reaper’s corpse at five thousand Gold Coins, Lynch arrived at a rough total of fifty-one thousand five hundred Gold Coins. That meant each person’s share would be seventeen thousand Gold Coins’ worth of loot.

Amadis crossed her arms and said lazily, "You can forget about my share. You just bought a Magic Staff, so you must be tight on cash. You should take more. I’m only interested in the Crimson Reaper’s corpse."

Avril quickly waved her hands as well, saying in a low voice, "Lynch, I don’t need a share either. Last night, it was my fault for recklessly summoning the Guardian, and I almost... Besides, you’ve always taken care of me."
