Chapter 206: Chapter 106: This Holy Light Angel Isn’t That Great
As she spoke, she extended a finger and pointed it gently at Avril.
A speck of Holy Light, as brilliant as a star, shot from her fingertip. It swiftly coalesced on Avril’s right index finger, forming a silver-white ring that flowed with a sacred radiance.
"Thank you, honored Guardian." Avril quickly bowed.
The angelic projection gave a slight nod. Without another word, it dissolved into countless motes of light and vanished into the night sky.
From start to finish, the arrogant Guardian Angel had addressed only Avril, treating Lynch and Amadis as if they were thin air.
"Whew... She’s finally gone."
Amadis let out a long sigh of relief and patted her ample chest, her face still showing traces of lingering fear.
As a Necromancer, being face-to-face with an angelic projection was incredibly stressful.
Avril, however, hurried to Lynch’s side. Her face was etched with guilt as she said, "Senior, I’m sorry. I didn’t know the Guardian would have such a strong reaction to your mark. I just... I just wanted to help you stop that fugitive from the black list."
"How could I blame you for that?" Lynch said with a casual smile. "If anything, I should be thanking you for shielding me."
Avril’s fair cheeks flushed slightly. She lowered her head and whispered, "I-It was the right thing to do."
"Alright, we shouldn’t linger here," Lynch said, his smile gone. "Senior, Avril, let’s clean up any trace of the battle and retreat immediately!"
Hearing this, Amadis and Avril’s expressions grew serious, and they immediately nodded in agreement.
The three of them moved into action.
Lynch directed his Undead Corps to fan out and form a tight perimeter. He then walked over to the Crimson Reaper’s corpse, crouched down, and began to examine it carefully.
The gruesome, penetrating wound left by the spear of Holy Light on the corpse’s chest was a shocking sight. But upon inspection, Lynch was inwardly delighted.
The wound was primarily a physical puncture. Although there was a ring of flesh seared by Holy Light around the injury, its purifying effect hadn’t spread to the rest of the body.
As an experienced Necromancer, he immediately judged that the corpse’s ’material quality’ was still exceptionally high. It could easily be converted into a Skeleton or a zombie.
To a Necromancer, the intact corpse of a powerful expert was more valuable than Gold Coins or even Magic Equipment.
However, this was the corpse of a Mage. Turning it into a simple zombie would be a waste. It would only be worth converting into a Corpse Witch if he could learn the High Tier Undead Magic: the *Corpse Witch Resurrection Skill*.
Suppressing his excitement, Lynch quickly began to collect the rest of the loot.
The Magic Staff in the corpse’s hand looked unremarkable. He picked it up and channeled his energy into it for a moment. It offered a two or three-point bonus to Spiritual Power and contained a Tier Two magic slot.
’Worth 1,500 Gold Coins at best, and it might not even be an easy sell.’ Lynch scoffed, casually tossing it into an inner pocket of his Mage Robe.
The Mage Robe was in even worse shape. It was old and worn, and the large hole in the chest meant it was completely ruined.
Next, Lynch found a leather pouch on the corpse’s hip. He untied it and looked inside to find a few miscellaneous, low-value Magic Items.
However, tucked inside the pouch was an ornate, sapphire-inlaid Space Ring.
He took out the ring and probed it with his Spiritual Power.
"Whoa!" Lynch’s eyes lit up, and he nearly let out a whistle.
The space inside the ring was about five cubic meters, making it a standard, medium-sized Space Ring.
The ring itself was worth at least six thousand Gold Coins on the market, but the items stored inside made Lynch’s heart race.
There was a stack of unregistered gold notes in various denominations; a quick glance told him the total value was well over ten thousand gold.
In addition, there was a small pile of shimmering Magic Gemstones and crystals of various properties, and seven or eight perfectly sealed Magic Scrolls radiating considerable power, ranging from Tier Two to Tier Four.
There were also some high-quality men’s clothes and a set of exquisitely crafted Enchanted Light Armor.
And finally, there was a box wrapped in soft velvet.
With a thought, Lynch quickly retrieved the box and opened it. Inside was the very item that had caused such a stir at the auction: the Heart of the Hurricane Eagle King.
’So this was that idiot young master Andre’s ring after all,’ Lynch thought, sighing inwardly.
’To think that guy would put himself in mortal danger—and ultimately die—over a petty squabble.’
’If you get a next life, remember to keep a low profile.’
After a moment of reflection, Lynch pushed those stray thoughts aside, leaving only a sense of sheer delight.
He estimated that the treasures within Andre’s ring, plus the ring itself, were worth more than thirty-five thousand gold in total.
After stowing Andre’s ring, Lynch pulled a dark silver ring from the Crimson Reaper’s finger.
This was also a Space Ring, but its internal space was tiny—just over one cubic meter. It was an entry-level model.
Its contents were a testament to its owner’s ’poverty’.
Inside were unregistered gold notes totaling about eight thousand, a few hundred loose Gold Coins, several jars of what appeared to be homemade blood magic potions, two or three homemade blood magic scrolls, and a jumble of other miscellaneous materials of unknown value.
Lynch did a quick calculation. The Crimson Reaper’s entire fortune, including the ring itself, was probably worth between twelve thousand and fifteen thousand Gold Coins.
