Luke wasn’t surprised that he learned that spell so fast, he felt that his control over his magic reached another level... Even without elemental Manipulation, he felt like he could do a lot more than he could do it before. That power came at a good time... But Luke couldn’t get carried away since Aivern might be plotting something while taking that power into consideration. Learning how to feel the enemies and finding other changes with mana would be difficult, but Luke was already making progress in that area, he just needed to keep the same rhythm of improvement.

Luke made a two hundred meters long Earth spears emerge from the ground and then he grabbed it. Without any hesitation, he used Weapon Augmentation and the spear turned into eight while it flew to the area ahead. The ground began to tremble and some distortions finally appeared. It seemed that the overlord noticed the danger and decided to escape, but they didn’t fast enough. Explosions happened when the spears touched the camouflage, and the first two had been enough to undo the spell and the others flew toward the massive fortress and destroyed the east side of that thing that was covered in plants as well. Luke ran as fast as possible to approach it, but then he had to stop when he felt a presence and some weird changes in the mana below him. He jumped just in time to dodge the fines that emerged from there.
"I am fucking tired of plants..." Luke said and then used Sonic Blade on the ground.
A hole opened there and destroyed the surrounding plants. When he landed, Luke saw a weird man that looked like a tree approaching from the flying fortress. He seemed like a very humanoid trent since even had arms and legs, but he was extremely slow. From his body, numerous vines emerged and they were connected to the flying fortress... That couldn’t be something good.

"Who are you? What are..." The overlord said, but then he stopped when Luke dashed at him.
The overlord didn’t have time to react, but his vines emerged from the ground and created a massive wall to shield him. Luke used Tornado and Flamethrower, but that didn’t work to burn down the wall as fast as he wanted.
"As expected of an inferior species... even though you have become an overlord, you are still stupid like the rest of you," The overlord said.
Luke ignored that and kept using Tornado and Flamethrower, he even increased the output of both of them in order to raise more smoke in the area. After a while, Luke stopped. Not because he didn’t get the results that he wanted, but because his preparations had been finished. He dashed once again and punched the vine wall with all his might. Thanks to the bonus of concentrated strike and the strength he obtained lately, Luke destroyed the wall in many pieces and kept charging toward the overlord.
Despite the surprise, the overlord fired some seeds from the top of his head and before they could even land on the ground, they had turned into smaller versions of himself. Luke used Flamethrower on them, but they exploded when his attack hit them and the shockwave of the explosion pushed him backward.
"No experience... No gold coins... I am so fucking tired of plants..." Luke muttered.
Luke wanted to finish that as soon as possible, but taking the enemy lightly won’t help him in any way. So, he couldn’t rush... Luke used Water Manipulation and made the water in the air rain down over the area. Thanks to that, the summoned mini trents got even more sluggish with their drenched bodies. Just to be safe, Luke fired some Stone Cannons at them, and they didn’t explode. It could be that the overlord was controlling them to do that, but Luke assumed that it wasn’t the case because he could feel some vibrations in the ground and far behind him, there was a massive curtain of smoke approaching... The overlord had called back its minions.
After charging Concentrated Strike for a while yet again, Luke charged toward the enemy and he passed through the monsters in front of him without facing any problems. However, the overlord summoned more of those creatures to get in his way.
"I don’t have time for this crap..." Luke said and used Stinger to move even faster.
Like a cannonball, Luke moved toward the enemy and he didn’t stop even when he hit the explosive trents and the explosions burned his body. He kept charging without a care. When his health was around thirty percent, he finally hit the overlord. His body got many cracks as he was sent flying to the distance. Still, before he could even land, Luke saw his vines pulsating, and then the wounds on his body began to heal him... They were giving him nutrients from somewhere... Probably from the fortress.
"So annoying... But you wouldn’t make me stronger if you couldn’t cause me this much trouble," Luke said while he watched his body being healed thanks to Vampirism.
