Chapter 323: Restart (2)

It took Luke three days to reach the same level as the other one for his new fortress. It had been quite fast because he saved mana, summoning the monsters by taming new ones and sacrificing them as soon as possible. The number of monsters in Miami was low now, but he needed to look for more of them and use Necromancy. In his current state, he couldn’t defeat Aivern, and the skeletons wouldn’t help directly, but they would increase his hunting speed. The only way he could use his precious skeletons was to make matters worse by using the invasion crystal... That he also left in the other fortress.

"Shit... I need to hurry up," Luke thought.

Without wasting time, Luke checked the space around the planet, and he confirmed that Aivern had disappeared with his other fortress. While he was looking for them, Luke recalled the day when he met him for the first time, he acted like he couldn’t fight, but it was clear that his level was pretty high. Luke realized that the experience himself and the skills gained were basically a numerical representation of the battle experience they obtained. With that in mind, wouldn’t it mean that Aivern had the battle experience and the skills developed and trained throughout many lives? If that was really the case, then he should be stupidly strong... Like, have twenty times a level higher than himself...

In any case, Luke decided to check things on the dark elves’ world. He might have the chance to use the dark elves to fight, after all. Still, he changed his mind considering that they were busy fighting, and they granted him four million coins during those three days. It would be better if they kept doing that job...

"What am I supposed to do now..." Luke asked while rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

Luke didn’t want to follow the instructions of that asshole. Still, according to what he said, the only thing Luke could do to find him was to become strong enough while facing Overlords. Those guys usually had large armies, so Luke could use them as well to raise his army of skeletons.

"The elf and the dark elf world is free of them, so I guess I should check Earth and make sure that no overlord is there," Luke thought.

Luke only made his flying fortress fly high, so he was unable to see any fortress from so high. After doing that, Luke realized that things in south America were rather messy. The Amazon rainforest had been destroyed, at least half of it... While in North America, everything North of New York had been taken by a massive snowstorm. Luke had experienced the changes that massive flying fortress could cause based on the materials they were made, so he assumed that it was caused by two overlords. Still, he only felt troubled by finding the problems he had to deal with...

"I don’t have time to waste, so I can’t let my pride get in the way," Luke thought. "I will finish things as early as possible."

Luke wondered what Frank was doing if he let some overlords make their backyard so close to their country... In any case, Luke decided to go to South America first since he imagined that it would be easier to find the overlord there. He made his fortress go down as slowly as possible while he watched things down below. His eyesight had improved as well, but he didn’t see anything that was big enough, like a flying fortress there. At least not on the side that had been burned down, which was mostly on the Brazilian side...

After going down for a while longer, Luke began to see some smoke curtains rising, and the origin of those were some Golems... Fire Golems. Luke also saw some humans firing ice projectiles toward them, but they were mostly running away. The burned area was more to the west, so it seemed that they tried to invade the Golems’ territory for whatever reason.

"Shit... I can’t turn Golems into skeletons," Luke thought.

Luke couldn’t care less about the fight between those guys. He just wanted to deal with the overlord as soon as possible... In any case, since the fire Golems burned everything they touched or got close by, Luke decided to check the area that wasn’t burned. Thanks to the dense forest, he had a hard time finding anything. In the first place, it was an odd spot to put their flying fortress when the overlord only summoned fire Golems. Luke knew that the flying fortress didn’t have camouflage skills, so the overlord did something to hide their base.

Luke decided to leave his fortress pretty high in the sky, where people would think it was just a weird cloud and then he jumped to the burned down forest. He couldn’t see any fire golem close to the part of the forest that still was intending, but Luke bet that he could feel something once he touched the land. His guess was right... even before he landed, Luke could tell that the air was different, and it wasn’t because of the smell of smoke... It was because he could feel a weird presence around him. Once he landed, Luke also realized they the weather was quite intense... It was way too hot.

"This isn’t a presence... Something this big... It is the mana left by the fire Golems, and it is making me feel this scorching heat?" Luke thought.

Luke could feel that now, probably because of Mana Manipulation. His senses have been improved since he could feel mana as if he had a new sense aside from his other five. After concentrating for a while, Luke also began to feel the direction the fire Golems came from... The direction with accurate precision. Luke began to head in that direction, but eventually, he stopped and raised his arm, and emitted his mana.
