So, before Hao Jian even had the chance to explain what he needed, Baldy had already agreed without hesitation. To him, whatever Hao Jian wanted him to do was not important, since Hao Jian wouldn’t ask him to do anything dangerous or strenuous. Also, he felt that being able to help Hao Jian was an honor.

Hao Jian’s strength and skills were evident, and Baldy knew that if he could work for Hao Jian, it meant Hao Jian trusted him. This would also help him build a good relationship with Hao Jian, which was totally beneficial for him. Why not go for it?

Why not do things that have all benefits and no drawbacks? So, without even asking what it was about, he agreed immediately.

Hao Jian smiled with satisfaction. Since Baldy agreed so readily, there was no need for further words. He picked up his glass and took a drink, then said, "This Friday, I need you to bring a group of brothers to the back hill of the school, give me some support, and maybe take some action if necessary."

Upon hearing this, Baldy got a bit angry and said, "Is it some idiot looking to cause trouble for you, Brother Hao? Just say the word, and I’ll take my brothers there right now to make him kneel and call you daddy."

Hao Jian hadn’t expected the usually steady Baldy to be so hot-tempered, so he smiled and said, "It’s nothing that serious. It’s just that there’s always some troublemaker in the school. We’ve agreed to settle it this Friday at the back hill. So, you just need to bring some people and make a show of force; that’s it. Make a good enough show, and there won’t be any future trouble without even fighting."

Understanding Hao Jian’s intention, Baldy said, "How many men do you need, Brother Hao? If not enough, I can go ask Black San. I’ll definitely make a strong statement."

On hearing Baldy’s response, Hao Jian thought for a moment. Gu Peng’s family carried a fair bit of influence. You could tell from how he always had a pack of ’dogs’ backing him at school, ready to bite on command. This meant their power wasn’t low. Last time, he brought around twenty to thirty people to ambush him. If they brought too few people this time, it might not be effective.

After some thought, he said, "Bringing about fifty or so people should be enough."

Since this was definitely going to be a brawl, and it was set for Friday, the word had already spread throughout the entire school, except for the teachers and staff. Gu Peng, being one concerned with face, would definitely call for even more people than last time to humiliate Hao Jian thoroughly. Therefore, Hao Jian shouldn’t call too many people himself. Let Baldy bring fifty or so, as it was just for show and not for a real fight.

Gu Peng’s guys were just students or small-time street thugs, while Baldy’s crew were professionals. Their aura would easily surpass Gu Peng’s group with fifty or so people. Thinking this through, Hao Jian was satisfied with this number.

"Fifty or so people?" Baldy frowned, "Alright! No problem, Brother Hao. I’ll bring over fifty brothers this Friday to back you up."

Baldy’s promise was uber straightforward. Even though he had only about a dozen men, the Axe Gang had previously been toppled by Hao Jian. So for Hao Jian to gather fifty or so people with just a word was a breeze. Hence, Baldy agreed without much hesitation.

"Alright then, it’s settled. I’ll notify you in advance, and you just bring your people to the rear hill of our school." Hao Jian said.

Hao Jian knew Yawen Middle School well, so naturally, Baldy did, too, knowing where Yawen School’s back hill was.

It was often the spot where students gathered to brawl. Sometimes, if they had money, they’d even hire small-time thugs from the street to assist. After all, students were just students, no matter how arrogant they were in school, they were still no match for real street thugs. A little cash could easily sway the fight in their favor, so helping Yawen School’s students in brawls to earn extra cash became a source of income for street thugs.

Baldy didn’t really like doing those things, but he knew about them.

Hearing this, Baldy confidently patted his chest and said, "Don’t worry, Brother Hao. Leave it to me. I’ll handle it for sure."

Hao Jian nodded with a smile. With nothing more to say, the two continued eating and drinking, chatting about random stuff, jumping from one topic to another, discussing everything and nothing. As they enjoyed themselves, they unknowingly emptied the bottles, ordering a few more from the owner.

During the conversation, Baldy once again changed his impression of Hao Jian. He realized Hao Jian was more impressive than he had thought and couldn’t really see through him. Despite being much older, Baldy felt ignorant compared to Hao Jian.

Usually, a conversation with Hao Jian should have benefited Hao Jian more, but instead, Baldy felt that he was learning a lot from Hao Jian. It was as if he was a child learning from an adult. This reinforced Baldy’s belief that Hao Jian was not an ordinary person, and sticking with him was clearly the right decision. It might even change his life.

His gaze became more resolute.

Midway, Hao Jian mentioned Lin Dongyang, saying he hoped Baldy could help Lin Dongyang in the future. He planned to let Lin Dongyang come over during weekends or free time to learn from Baldy. Baldy naturally nodded, as he wouldn’t dare neglect anything Hao Jian asked.

At the same time, Baldy began to regard Lin Dongyang differently. Since Hao Jian had such high hopes for him, Lin Dongyang must be extraordinary, so seeing as Hao Jian wanted to cultivate him, Baldy decided he’d help in whatever way he could.

"Haha..." They hit a lively topic, bursting into laughter.

Just then, Hao Jian’s phone suddenly rang. He glanced at it and saw it was a call from Li Weiwei. Knowing why she’d call, he casually set the phone aside, ignoring it.

Baldy noticed this but said nothing, continuing to eat and drink quietly alongside his two companions.

Li Weiwei’s call eventually stopped. Recognizing the number, Hao Jian instantly knew she called because she returned to school, checked their classroom, and found out he skipped evening classes. He knew she was calling to scold him.

Understanding her intentions, he decided not to answer. He figured he’d get an earful when he returned to school anyway, so why answer and get scolded twice? He still had this much sense.

However, while he thought so, his phone beeped with a message notification. He checked it to find a text from Li Weiwei, who, failing to reach him by call, decided to express herself through a message.

"Skipped class, did you? Skipped just because I wasn’t around, huh? And you didn’t answer the phone, getting bolder, aren’t you? Fine, don’t show up at school; if you do, don’t go to your classroom, just head straight to my office. I’ll be waiting for you!" – Li Weiwei.

Seeing this, Hao Jian felt a chill down his spine. He didn’t expect Li Weiwei to return and check the class, finding out he skipped the evening self-study. Judging by her tone, he realized a storm was coming. Suddenly, he felt the sky was darkening.

Seeing Hao Jian’s expression, Baldy guessed something had happened but didn’t comment, just continued with his drink.

Finally, Hao Jian put down his phone and said, "Alright, that’s it for today. I have to go now; I’ll keep you updated."

Upon hearing this, Baldy said, "If Brother Hao has something to do, go ahead. I’ll handle the rest."

With that, Hao Jian acknowledged with a nod, went to the cashier to pay, and left. It was already the end of the night self-study session and about time to head back. Last night, Liang Xiaohai got scared watching a horror movie alone and so, it was best to head back early to accompany her.

Actually, he couldn’t understand why girls watched horror movies knowing they’d be scared, especially when alone. Wasn’t it just creating unnecessary trouble for themselves?

He couldn’t figure it out and concluded it must be some kind of psychological quirk—doing what scares you the most and ending up terrified.

Thinking this, he had already reached downstairs, taken the elevator, and opened the door, at which point Liang Xiaohai hadn’t returned yet. He went inside, freshened up, and as he finished his shower, Liang Xiaohai came back.

"You’re back!" Hao Jian said.

Putting her things down, Liang Xiaohai said, "You skipped class and didn’t take me with you?"

Hao Jian replied, "I only skipped because I had something to do."

Liang Xiaohai gave him a look and said, "Alright then, I happen to have something to discuss with you."
