Chapter 1115: Who... Who are you?
Despite her advanced age, Eleanor kept herself in excellent physical shape, which many would envy.
The distance between the mansion and the gazebo, which Eleanor knew very well and which she traveled several times every day, seemed very long to her this time.
When she came to the place where she had a view of the gazebo, when she saw the silhouette of a waiting man, she became even more worried and accelerated.
Crossing the threshold of the garden, she leaned on one of the wooden pillars and began to catch her breath. All this time, she did not take her eyes off the gazebo.
Due to her poor eyesight, she couldn’t make out the young man’s features and tell for sure if it was the same guy as before.
After quickly tidying herself up, including straightening her hair, which was slightly disheveled, Eleanor headed for the gazebo.
Her two maids followed her at a distance, ready to come to her rescue at any moment.
When Eleanor approached the gazebo and finally saw the one who was waiting for her, she froze in amazement.
She blinked a few times, as if she couldn’t believe her eyes.
Then she began to doubt and even get a little upset. Because in front of her was not the young man she had previously talked to, but a completely different, very attractive and charming young man with black hair and brown eyes.
Seeing the mix of emotions on Eleanor’s face, Idan couldn’t help but smile.
The maids who were watching them from a distance held their breath, amazed by the beauty of this young man.
"Who... Who are you?" asked Eleanor, trying to hide her feelings and return a stern look.
"I see you didn’t recognize me," — Idan said with a slight sadness in his voice, shaking his head. "But I understand you."
He took out a {Ghost Mask} from the spatial ring and put it on his face with ostentatious carelessness. A familiar young man appeared before Eleanor’s eyes.
The stern look she was trying to keep wavered, and she gasped and covered her mouth with her hands.
"I hope you recognize me now?" Idan said, and the mask changed not only his appearance, but also his voice.
Eleanor nodded, confirming that she recognized him.
Idan took off his mask and hid it in the spatial ring.
"It’s good to see you well again, Eleanor," he said. After some silence, he added, "Or should I call you grandma?"
Eleanor’s heart beat faster at this admission, and tears welled up at the corners of her eyes.
"Grandma?" the two maids said in surprise, looking at each other in shock and disbelief.
"Not really," — Idan shook his head dramatically. "I’m already a dead person to you, so I guess not."
"No," — Eleanor quickly replied, unable to hold back her tears. "You... You can call me Grandma."
If Eleanor had previously had some doubts about the young man because of his appearance, now that she saw him in his true light, she was convinced that this was her grandson, and not someone else posing as him.
Idan just smiled back.
Eleanor, in turn, began to look at him differently, carefully studying his features. And the longer she looked, the more joy it caused in her heart. Her grandson was very handsome, and in her opinion, she had never met anyone more beautiful than him.
Eleanor had a lot of questions she longed to ask, but she didn’t know where to start.
She sat down across from him, not taking her eyes off him.
"The name..." said Eleanor, deciding to start with the most important thing. "What’s your name?"
"Idan... Idan Fein," said Idan, not hiding his name.
"Idan?" — Eleanor’s eyes widened in surprise, because she had already heard not only this surname Fein, but also this name.
As a mother who helped her son with his lies, she was aware of everything Adrian had been through away from his family, including his new friends and their families.
Among them was a young man named Adam Fein, who later married the younger sister of the girl Adrian had fallen in love with.
Over time, Eleanor found out how the lives of these people turned out, and among this information was the name of their boy— Idan.
Eleanor couldn’t believe that her grandson had been in plain sight all this time, and she hadn’t even realized it.
No, she was deceived and deprived of her grandson.
And her own beloved son did it.
When Eleanor realized this, anger and a desire to find her son and find out the truth and the reason for his actions flared up inside her.
"Eleanor," — Idan called.
"Grandma," — Eleanor interrupted him. She pronounced the word sternly, as if she didn’t allow any other options. "Call me Grandma."
Idan looked at her carefully, and she returned his gaze with a serious look, not going to back down.
"Grandma," — Idan said, giving up out of respect for her.
A joyful smile played on Eleanor’s face, which once again came as a surprise to the two maids watching them. It had been a long time since they had seen her smile like that.
"Grandma, I didn’t come here today to talk," Idan said.
Eleanor blinked in disbelief.
Her joy began to give way to anxiety.
"I’m here to invite you to a place," Idan explained, getting up from his seat. "A place where almost everyone connected to the lies he has woven has gathered."
A rift opened next to him, and a snow-white fox jumped out of it.
"This is..." — Eleanor jumped up in surprise, and immediately her two maids appeared next to her.
"Madam," they cautiously looked at the fox, trying not to make eye contact with Idan.
Idan’s words echoed in Eleanor’s mind, and she quickly realized who exactly was waiting for her.
"Do you want me to..."
Idan nodded.
"I want you to come with me and personally reveal the truth to everyone."
Eleanor’s fears were justified.
She clutched her chest, feeling serious and responsible. She looked at Idan, the grandson Adrian had robbed her of, and plucked up her courage.
Eleanor decided not to run anymore.
To face the inevitable face to face.
"I... I’m ready to follow you and meet them," Eleanor said, voicing her decision and desire.
"Okay," Idan nodded, accepting her words.
At that moment, Snow opened the portal with a flick of her tail.
"Please," Idan invited, inviting them in. "You ladies can follow your madam too."
The maids exchanged glances and quickly made the decision to follow Eleanor.
Eleanor, who had already made up her mind, glanced at the graceful fox and, barely restraining the urge to scratch her fluffy fur, confidently stepped inside the portal, and the maids followed her.
As soon as they disappeared, a dark clone of Ned appeared next to Idan.
"You two stay here and monitor the situation," Idan asked.
"Yes, big brother," Ned nodded and disappeared back into the darkness.
Snow jumped up to Idan and, after receiving a small dose of scratching, stepped aside.
After taking one last look at the garden and the mansion, Idan stepped through the portal.
