Chapter 1121: Chapter 1120: Standing Up for Justice

With a sharp cry, she exerted her strength to make a deep, long cut on the nearly drawn body.

The giant worm’s green blood sprayed out along with the shattered body tissues.

She swiftly dodged aside.

The giant worm writhed in pain on the ground, its massive body slapping against the ground, kicking up dust and dirt. The originally flat surface was marked with the traces of its struggles.

Gradually, the giant worm ceased to struggle. After a few convulsions, it stopped moving.

Jiang Cheng came over, praising Yanran: "Not bad, not bad, you handled this monster skillfully.

Yanran smiled: "It ambushed me, and I hate ambushers the most.

She added: "I also dislike monsters that sneak attack me!

Jiang Cheng nodded, he lowered his head, carefully examining the giant worm’s corpse. Yanran couldn’t understand why he was so interested in a beast’s corpse and asked Jiang Cheng curiously, "Teacher, what are you trying to do?

Do you not want to know why Ba Lv, after killing those beasts, would still break open their stomachs?

"Oh, teacher, do you really want to do such a disgusting thing?" Yanran made a disgusted face. The look of this giant worm already made her feel nauseous, and her teacher actually wanted to cut it open.

She couldn’t imagine what kind of things inside its ugly body would arouse her teacher’s curiosity.

Jiang Cheng waved his hand, signaling Yanran to stand back, then extended his index finger, an almost invisible light enveloping it.

Jiang Cheng lightly sliced through the giant worm’s body with his finger, the tough outer skin parting open, spilling a large heap of innards mixed with blood onto the ground.

Jiang Cheng held his breath, the creature’s body reeked with a foul odor, making it difficult for him to meticulously inspect the giant worm’s body. He finally discovered something peculiar.

"Look!" Jiang Cheng came to Yanran’s side, showing her what he held.

"What is this? Did you find it inside the corpse?" Yanran was very curious.

However, she didn’t reach out to touch the shiny crystal, just thinking it came from that pile of nauseating innards made her feel uncomfortable.

"Yes, it seems this is why Ba Lv dissects those monsters’ bodies after killing them," Jiang Cheng examined the crystal in his hand: "But how does she know that such crystals exist within these creatures? It’s very strange.

Maybe she discovered it by accident," Yanran said, and she was actually right.

"What are these things? It’s the first time I’ve seen something like this inside a Wild Lu," Yanran was very curious: "When I was on Nameless Planet, no matter how many beasts I hunted, I never found anything strange in them.

Yanran had every right to say this, as she made a living hunting beasts on the Nameless Planet, and the Wild Lu she killed was countless.

After Yanran killed the giant worm, Jiang Cheng dissected its body and found a crystal inside, seeming to be the reason Ba Lv dissected the beasts after killing them.

Faced with Yanran’s question, Jiang Cheng pondered before answering: "I think that these crystals are formed in these creatures due to special environmental conditions.

He pointed towards Zhou Country, speaking to Yanran: "Look here, who would have thought that outside of it is an icy world?

As to what exactly these things are, I don’t know either, don’t look at me like that," Jiang Cheng smiled at Yanran and said: "Anyway, this is not a gem. If I had to conclude, I’d say these crystals are like stones inside these creatures.

He tossed the crystal in his hand: "It’s just that they happen to look nice.

"Then why would Ba Lv want these things? Does she know what they’re used for?" Yanran persisted in asking Jiang Cheng.

Maybe she thinks they look like gems, quite shiny, so she kept them, or perhaps, as you said, she knows what purpose these crystals serve, we can’t be sure.

Jiang Cheng put away the crystal: "Come on, stop asking so many questions. We’ll find out once we see Ba Lv.

The two set off again on the journey to find Ba Lv.

Meanwhile, Ba Lvluo, cradling two wolf cubs, was following behind the giant Black Wolf, heading in the direction where the Flying Dragon had disappeared.

She hadn’t gone far when she realized the Black Wolf’s intention.

This Black Wolf intended to find the murderer of its mate and avenge her.

The Flying Dragon’s tail had been chopped off by Ba Lv with a short sword, leaving a trail of fresh blood on the path it had flown, clearly indicating the direction it had fled.

However, Ba Lvluo believed, even if the Flying Dragon hadn’t left any traces, the Black Wolf would still know how to find the dragon’s lair.

Because, as they continued forward, the Black Wolf didn’t follow the tracks left by the Flying Dragon.

Sometimes it would lead Ba Lv through more easily navigable paths. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

The Flying Dragon soared in the sky, unconcerned whether the path was difficult, like steep cliffs, but they didn’t have that luxury.

The two wolf cubs in Ba Lv’s arms whimpered fiercely, prompting the Black Wolf to stop and look back at them.

One wolf cub suckled on Ba Lv’s finger, Ba Lv then realized they were hungry.

She placed the wolf cubs on the ground, and they cried even louder.

The Black Wolf vanished from sight, and when it returned, it carried a rabbit in its mouth, tossing it in front of the wolf cubs, lying down to watch them.

Though they hadn’t found anything to drink, the scent of fresh blood from the prey stimulated the wolf cubs’ instincts. They leapt at the dead rabbit, using their still immature teeth to tear at its fur.

Although they tried their best, they couldn’t deal with the rabbit’s soft but tough fur.

The Black Wolf merely watched them from the side and eventually grew impatient when the cubs couldn’t break the rabbit’s skin.

Standing up, the Black Wolf shook its glossy, dark fur and walked aside.

"What kind of father are you? Can’t you see they can’t bite through that fur?"

Ba Lvluo spoke up for the two wolf cubs.

Even in the human world, male animals aren’t skilled at caring for their young, and it seems the same goes for this Black Wolf right here, what a hassle.

Ba Lvluo drew her short sword, slicing open the rabbit’s belly, then skinned it and cut the meat into fine strips with the sword.

She placed the still slightly warm meat in front of the wolf cubs, who immediately began wolfing it down.

Perhaps they had been hungry for too long, or maybe, to them, this blood-tinged meat was simply irresistible.
