Chapter 1122: Chapter 1121: Fangs
In just a short while, the rabbit was almost entirely devoured by them, leaving only the fur and some bones.
The Black Wolf saw that the wolf pups were full and began to move forward again.
Ba Lv picked up the two wolf pups and followed behind it.
The two wolf pups, now with round bellies, contentedly closed their eyes, and soon fell asleep in Ba Lv’s arms.
The man and wolf continued to walk in silence, neither making a sound.
As they delved deeper into the lush mountains, the Black Wolf grew cautious, constantly lifting its head to sniff the scents carried by the wind.
They were mostly moving through concealed places now, walking through the woods and tall grasses.
Ba Lvluo noticed that in their surrounding Zhou Country, there were no other animals present, indicating that they had entered the territory of the Flying Dragon.
After passing through a patch of forest, what appeared before Ba Lv’s eyes was a stretch of mountains, though not particularly high.
Ba Lv clearly saw a Flying Dragon lying in front of a dark cave entrance.
It seemed this was the lair of the Flying Dragon.
"Teacher, look." Yanran pointed to a pool of blood on the ground, indicating a strange object in the middle to Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng nodded, indicating he understood. He dipped his finger into the still wet blood and smelled it under his nose: "It’s beast blood."
Then he picked up the severed tail of the Flying Dragon: "This seems to be a creature’s tail, cut off by Ba Lv’s short sword, and then the creature fled. However...
He looked around: "I don’t see any tracks of the creature’s escape, could it be that this creature can fly?"
They continued their search in this place, and soon discovered more evidence, including the burial site of the White Wolf.
The disturbed soil and its surrounding environment were markedly different, leading Jiang Cheng and Yanran to notice it almost simultaneously.
"No, it can’t be..." Yanran looked at Jiang Cheng, her voice slightly trembling.
"Stay calm!" Jiang Cheng glanced at Yanran: "Where’s your rationality?" He gestured to the size of the disturbed soil: "Do you think such a large area could bury Ba Lv?"
"Moreover, it’s clear this pit was dug using human tools. You’ve seen the site, are there any signs of human struggle here? Who could silently kill her?" Jiang Cheng was displeased with Yanran’s agitation.
Ba Lvluo, following the giant wolf, found the Flying Dragon’s lair, and almost simultaneously, Jiang Cheng and Yanran reached the site where the White Wolf was buried.
In front of Ba Lv was a barren mountain range, almost devoid of greenery, filled with an eerie silence. Massive patches of scorched earth were visible everywhere, the handiwork of the Flying Dragon.
Nestled under a nearly dead tree at the entrance of a dark cave lay the Flying Dragon.
The Black Wolf crouched low, its belly to the ground, stealthily moving through the grass.
It seemed the Black Wolf was familiar with the Flying Dragon, aware of the formidable opponent it was facing, thus proceeding with such caution.
Ba Lv watched as the Black Wolf disappeared into the grass.
She turned around twice, feeling restless inside.
There was no way she could remain still and not join in the battle between the Black Wolf and the Flying Dragon.
Moreover, the Flying Dragon had killed the White Wolf, which was a beautiful creature she wished she could protect. She wanted revenge.
Ba Lv searched around and finally found a small cave. She spread a thick layer of grass inside the cave and placed the two still-sleeping wolf pups inside.
The wolf pups murmured a bit but did not wake from their sleep.
She stood up, still uneasy, and found a few rocks to block the entrance of the cave, feeling reassured at last.
Ba Lv also began to stealthily approach the Flying Dragon’s location, but she didn’t choose the giant wolf’s path.
She circled around, quietly making her way over.
As she neared, she saw the giant wolf, which had already emerged from the grass. It was just about to approach the Flying Dragon.
The giant wolf moved neither hurriedly nor slowly, and as it drew closer to the Flying Dragon, its speed increased, turning into a black flash, astonishingly fast.
Ba Lv advanced toward the Flying Dragon, observing the giant wolf’s actions.
The Flying Dragon might have been napping, but as a powerful creature, it instinctively opened its eyes as the giant wolf was about to reach it.
Finding the giant wolf already within striking distance, it immediately spewed a fireball towards the giant wolf, then flapped its wings, attempting to fly away.
The giant wolf charged right into the oncoming fireball.
Ba Lv watched intently as the fireball from the Flying Dragon nearly reached the giant wolf when it suddenly dodged to the side, grazing past the giant wolf’s body, leaving it unharmed.
Before the Flying Dragon could take flight, the giant wolf had already leapt upon it.
Unable to fly, the Flying Dragon was no match for the giant wolf. The wolf not only was not disadvantaged in size and weight but also moved with incredible speed.
Though the Flying Dragon fought back desperately, using its head, wings, claws, and tail, none of its attacks were effective against the giant wolf.
Not that the Flying Dragon’s attacks were ineffective, as Ba Lv was already very close to the battle scene.
She saw clearly that the giant wolf barely dodged any attacks except those that could be lethal. It completely disregarded attacks on its less vital parts.
In the giant wolf’s eyes, its sole aim was to sink its deadly fangs into the Flying Dragon’s body.
Ba Lv watched the fierce battle in silence, clenching her fists tightly.
The giant wolf was risking its life for the White Wolf’s revenge.
Under the giant wolf’s relentless assault, the Flying Dragon quickly began to falter, its wings riddled with wounds inflicted by the giant wolf.
While the wings weren’t a vital part of the Flying Dragon, losing them meant it couldn’t fly. The giant wolf knew this was the Flying Dragon’s greatest advantage – its ability to fly. Without its wings, the Flying Dragon was far less intimidating.
Ba Lv saw that after deftly avoiding a claw attack from the Flying Dragon, the giant wolf leapt close, opened its mouth, and bit down, its sharp fangs sinking deep into the Flying Dragon’s neck.
The Flying Dragon couldn’t even make a sound, only able to writhe its neck, trying to shake the giant wolf off against the ground and the mountainside. But no matter how much the Flying Dragon struggled, the giant wolf did not let go, its limbs wrapped around the Flying Dragon’s neck, its entire body clinging tightly.
The Flying Dragon’s struggles grew weaker with time; its long, slender neck, like its wings, was particularly vulnerable to harm and especially prone to attack.
