Chapter 1117: Chapter 1116: Keen Perception

The Flying Dragon felt a twinge of fear in the presence of the White Wolf’s sharp fangs. Despite its hard exterior, it had to dodge the White Wolf’s counterattacks.

Both sides exchanged blows in a fierce battle, seemingly at a stalemate for the moment.

Just as Ba Lvluo breathed a sigh of relief for the White Wolf, thinking it had the upper hand, the situation on the battlefield changed unexpectedly.

The Flying Dragon, having attacked for so long without driving off its opponent, grew increasingly agitated.

It now landed and stretched out its slender neck to bite the White Wolf, using its broad wings to pummel the White Wolf, and its sharp claws to scratch at the White Wolf.

Even its seemingly useless tail lashed like a whip, striking the White Wolf.

In this state, the Flying Dragon appeared as if it were sick, having gone into a berserk frenzy.

Under the Flying Dragon’s all-out assault, the White Wolf quickly became overwhelmed. After being struck on its hind leg by the Flying Dragon’s tail, its movements grew even more sluggish.

Agility was the only advantage it had against the Flying Dragon.

"Come on!" Ba Lv couldn’t help but shout in her heart, standing up unconsciously from her hiding place.

The White Wolf was clearly no match for the Flying Dragon anymore.

After the blow from the Flying Dragon’s tail, it became even less agile, rendering it unable to contend with the Flying Dragon’s relentless barrage.

During the fight, the White Wolf managed to roll and barely shake off the Flying Dragon’s sharp claws. Just as it was about to turn and bite back, the Flying Dragon swung its sturdy head like a hammer fiercely onto the White Wolf’s face.

The White Wolf let out a wail, and its body flew into the air.

Ba Lv immediately rushed forward; she couldn’t bear to watch any longer.

Although her movements were swift, the Flying Dragon still managed to slash the grounded White Wolf with its claws before she arrived.

The blow was nearly fatal, tearing a large wound in the White Wolf’s side, from which blood mixed with its internal organs spilled out.

Just as the Flying Dragon prepared to launch another attack to finish the White Wolf off, Fan Lv arrived in time.

The Flying Dragon’s long tail was right in front of her, and without thinking, Ba Lv thrust her short sword into it.

A howl came from the Flying Dragon as a section of its tail was cut off by the sharp short sword in Ba Lv’s hand.

This unexpected attack caught the Flying Dragon off guard, and it couldn’t turn around in time. It snapped its massive jaws at the enemy attacking it.

Ba Lv deftly rolled to the side to dodge.

The Flying Dragon flapped its wings and rose into the air, leaving a trail of blood from its severed tail.

The intense pain made the Flying Dragon lose its will to fight. After spitting a few fireballs at Ba Lvluo to little effect, it howled and flew away, leaving a trail of blood behind it.

Ba Lv watched the Flying Dragon disappear behind a patch of trees, finally sheathing her short sword and kneeling beside the White Wolf.

The once-beautiful creature was now unrecognizable, covered in blood. The Flying Dragon’s last attack had inflicted fatal damage upon it.

Seeing the wolf’s injuries, Ba Lv knew that this source of light was not long for this world.

After gently stroking the White Wolf a few times, she took off her shirt to bandage its abdominal wound, knowing full well that it was of no use and couldn’t save its life.

The White Wolf’s eyes, which had been glowing blue, were now half-closed, its breathing heavy. It saw what Ba Lvtie had done for it and extended its tongue to lick her hand.

Ba Lvtie stood up and looked around.

She had discovered the reason behind the White Wolf’s determination to fight to the end.

While bandaging the White Wolf’s wound with her clothes, she realized that it was a nursing mother wolf.

Somewhere in Zhou Country, it had children, which was why it fought so tenaciously against a powerful foe.

Not far from the battlefield, in a cave beneath some rocks, Ba Lvtie found two wolf cubs whose eyes had only recently opened.

One was completely black, while the other was snow-white.

Unaware of the outside events, the cubs bit at Ba Lvtie’s hand with their tiny sharp teeth when she reached to pick them up.

"It’s okay, I’m taking you to see your mother," Ba Lvtie softly said.

She placed the two whimpering cubs beside the dying White Wolf.

Upon hearing her pups’ cries, the White Wolf barely opened its eyes.

Extending its tongue to lovingly caress its two children, the White Wolf gave Ba Lv, who stood nearby, a grateful look and let out a nearly inaudible sound. Then, it passed away.

The two pups had no idea what had happened to their mother, and they continued to search around her belly.

Ba Lvtie sat cross-legged beside the deceased White Wolf, unwilling to leave.

The two pups kept climbing up and down her legs, oblivious to the fact that their favorite White Wolf had been killed by a two-headed Flying Dragon. Although Ba Lvluo had intervened to help the White Wolf, she was too late.

The White Wolf left behind two offspring, and it seemed Ba Lvtie would have to take them in.

Standing up from beside the White Wolf, she pondered whether to find a place to bury its body.

Suddenly, an instinct told her that a dangerous creature was approaching her from behind.

This creature had somehow evaded her keen senses to get so close, indicating its extraordinary nature, and it sent a chill up Ba Lv’s spine.

Ba Lvtie’s mind raced, searching for a solution. She could easily dodge it if she were alone, but in doing so, the two wolf pups in front of her might be harmed by the creature.

In this situation, she had no choice but to fight.

Clenching her teeth, Ba Lvtie hurled her short sword backward like lightning, while swiftly gathering up the two wolf pups from the ground into her arms, executing two forward rolls before leaping to the side.

Her movements were skillful and agile, and she hoped this maneuver would help her evade the sudden attack of the unknown creature.

As she stood up and turned to assess the situation, she drew in a sharp breath.

A massive head loomed just centimeters away, its dark eyes fixated on her. Inside its open mouth, sharp fangs glinted like cold steel, and she could even smell the stench emanating from the creature’s maw.

Ba Lvtie froze, realizing that everything she had done was futile against this creature.

The creature let out a menacing low growl, its gigantic head inching closer to her, its gaze focused on the wolf pups cradled in Ba Lvluo’s arms.
