Chapter 1118: Chapter 1117: Descent

Ba Lv finally saw clearly that what appeared before her was an enormous wolf.

Ba Lvluo was tall and slender, her height was at least 1.7 meters, and the wolf before her looked at least 1.5 or 1.6 meters high.

This kind of giant wolf was something Ba Lv was seeing for the first time, and she was visibly intimidated.

She saw the giant wolf’s gaze fall upon the wolf cubs she was holding, instinctively trying to turn away from the wolf’s gaze when suddenly a flash of insight crossed her mind; she realized who this giant wolf was.

This gigantic wolf had a coat of fur that was dark and shiny, and as she looked at the wolf cubs with similar fur in her arms, she knew this giant wolf was the father of the two cubs.

Ba Lv put down the wolf cubs she was holding, but the two little ones didn’t snuggle up to their father, instead, they circled around Ba Lvro’s feet, grumbling as if to say, "Why are you putting us down like this?"

The giant wolf glanced at the wolf cubs on the ground, then looked at Ba Lv, its eyes were as sharp as if wanting to see through her thoughts.

Ba Lv slowly squatted down, she held the two wolf cubs in her arms and then pointed toward the corpse of the White Wolf not far away. As if understanding Ba Lv’s intention, the black giant wolf turned its head to look in the direction Ba Lv indicated.

Then it slowly walked over, lied down beside the White Wolf, gently touched the corpse with its huge head, and extended its wide tongue to lick it, letting out a mournful hum from its throat, seemingly trying to call White Wolf back to life in this way.

The White Wolf did not move at all.

The black giant wolf rested its huge head upon White Wolf’s body, for a long, long time, never moving.

Ba Lvro could clearly see the expression of understanding and sorrow in the giant wolf’s eyes.

Ba Lv dared not move either, fearing her actions might provoke the enormous black wolf.

The wolf cubs in her arms kept nudging and whining.

After a long while, the giant wolf stood up and glanced at the coat on White Wolf’s body, then sniffed Ba Lv, the look of alertness in its eyes disappeared.

The giant wolf called out, its voice echoing in the cave.

The giant wolf stepped away, glancing at Ba Lv who hadn’t moved, and turned back to look at her.

At first, Ba Lv did not understand its intention, she just stood there holding the two wolf cubs without moving.

The giant wolf walked to her side, gently biting her clothes and gesturing for her to follow.

Ba Lv understood the giant wolf’s meaning, but she couldn’t just leave like this.

She spoke to the giant wolf: "Wait a moment." She didn’t know if the wolf could understand her, but she saw the giant wolf release her clothes, standing still.

Ba Lv placed the wolf cubs on the ground and went to retrieve the short sword she had shot out, the little wolf cubs wagging their tails, staggering behind her, unwilling to leave her.

Ba Lv pulled out the short sword lodged in the rock wall and looked around, finally found a suitable place.

Ba Lv diligently dug at the soil on the ground, and the giant wolf just stood silently beside her, occasionally pulling the naughty wolf cubs out of the pit when they rolled into it.

Ba Lv finally dug a deep pit.

She tenderly placed the White Wolf’s corpse inside, then lifted her head to look at the giant wolf.

The giant wolf turned away, silently lying down nearby.

When Ba Lv started to fill the pit with soil, the wolf cubs seemed to understand something, they grumbled and chirped, as if realizing they would never see their mother again.

Although Ba Lv dug the pit deep enough, she still feared wild animals might come and trample White Wolf’s body, so she contemplated the huge stones nearby.

What method could be used to move those stones here?

Ba Lv knew her own strength well, she realized that she could never move those stones.

As if understanding her thoughts, the giant wolf rose and used its huge body to push the stones over the pit where White Wolf was buried.

Ba Lv nodded in satisfaction, the giant wolf’s strength making it unlikely that any other creatures could disturb the resting place.

Everything was set, Ba Lv picked up the two wolf cubs, following the giant wolf and leaving the place.

Even though she didn’t know where the giant wolf was leading her, she trusted that it had no hostility against her.

She turned around once more, looking at the place where White Wolf was buried, engraving the scene in her heart.

Yanran, "Jiang Cheng called softly, reaching out to gently shake her.

While Jiang Cheng was outside checking the weather, Yanran had unknowingly fallen asleep.

Yanran opened her eyes in a daze, looking at Jiang Cheng, still not entirely awake.

"Yanran, the snow outside is lighter now, we need to go out and search for Ba Lv." Actually, Shi Su was very reluctant to have Yanran go out too, such weather was almost a torture for her.

But the search needed manpower, more people meant more hope.

Therefore, Jiang Cheng had to harden his heart and wake Yanran.

"Alright, okay," Yanran quickly understood, she stood up: "Teacher, wait for me a moment, I’ll wash my face to clear my head."

When Yanran came out, the Flaming Firebird was already flying low, starting the search.

Yanran shivered, suddenly coming from the warm cabin into such frigid cold; she was still quite unaccustomed.

Jiang Cheng hesitated for a moment, then said to her: "Why don’t you stay inside the spaceship? In any case, it needs someone to look after it."

"I’m fine, finding Ba Lv is more important, leave the ship guarding to Alice." Yanran tightened her clothes and replied to Jiang Cheng.

"I was just thinking, since Ba Lv mentioned playing hide and seek intending to ambush you, she couldn’t have gone far," Jiang Cheng analyzed with Yanran. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"If she wanted to hide, preventing you from finding her, then there must be something blocking your vision," he pointed to some stones nearby: "like these stones."

"Apart from these stones, there’s nothing else around here that would block your view and keep you from seeing her," Yanran nodded, agreeing with Jiang Cheng’s words.

"At the time I noticed Ba Lv had disappeared, that’s exactly what I thought, but as I began searching in this area filled with rubble, the snowstorm hit."

"Since Ba Lv hasn’t gone far, she neither can fly nor would just stay there enduring the blizzard, with a chance of freezing, there’s only one possibility," Jiang Cheng said, looking at Yanran.

Yanran’s eyes lit up: "Are you saying she fell underground?"

After contemplating, she confidently said: "It must be that way; she must have fallen into a cave big enough that she couldn’t climb out."

Jiang Cheng nodded: "Since we both think this way, it almost certainly confirms Ba Lv fell into a cave underground."
