Chapter 966: The Days Drifted By

Special Base

Days passed by.

Jeremy Night continued to do the missions. He didn’t stop even after his ranking entered the top 50. He only took a break when he was injured or for training.

During the training, he spent his time on all the techniques, including the combat technique, since it was given by Elder John.

He wanted to do well in that technique as well. Then he trained in other techniques as well.

On the other hand, Rick and the others stopped bothering Jeremy Night since that day, after knowing that Jeremy Night’s rank had entered the top 50.

All the 12 members erased the thought of offending Jeremy Night. Since that day, they had been living in fear.

They were worried that Jeremy Night could find out the truth. Then he could possibly seek revenge. But nothing like that had happened.

Only then were they able to relax and live freely here. Even the elders in the special base were impressed by the rankings. There were some who had been against the joining of Jeremy Night; they shut their mouths.

Jeremy Night’s name was popular in the special base because everyone kept updated on him, just like they followed every piece of news on the top Beast Tamers in the rankings.

They started following his news despite him entering the top 50 only recently. So, the news about Jeremy Night possibly becoming a Tier-4 Beast Tamer was spreading across the base recently.

Only Jeremy knew that he still had the 9th rank in between the limit. His name was getting traction among the people in the 4th zone.

People in City A of the 4th zone paid attention to the leaderboard rankings. They knew these tamers were the future pillars of the human zones.

Most of them had come from City A, so they were surprised to find a Tier-3 Beast Tamer entering the top 50 ranks.

The updates were being closely followed by Elder Harold Red and Elder Neil Moon as well. Both of them were the reason why he was here.

They were happy to know that Jeremy Night was doing well. Their investment was not going to be wasted. Both of them decided to upgrade the security of Jeremy Night’s parents.

They knew Jeremy Night’s growth might offend some people. It’s normal for the enemy to do shady work.

Since they had experienced it themselves, they were going to protect Jeremy Night’s family.

Meanwhile,

Elder Sandra was relieved. The battle against the corrupted beasts had caused a huge loss to them, especially the loss of lives.

Now, the recently joined Beast Tamers were doing well, especially Jeremy Night, who was doing well beyond everyone’s expectations. This was all positive news for her.

But she was still worried about that one thing: the Tier-9 Worm King was not dead yet. It could be hiding somewhere in the wilderness and recovering.

The Tier-9 Worm King was the reason behind that battle. If they didn’t find the beast any sooner, they could face a similar battle against the corrupted beasts.

Elder John and Brian were happy as well. They had decided to take a risk; they bet on Jeremy Night. Knowing that he had reached the top 50 rankings before becoming a Tier-4 Beast Tamer, they were shocked.

Now Jeremy Night could be compared to the talents from the top three zones.

Wilderness

A couple of days passed by.

The Tier-9 Worm King had almost recovered its strength, but it was in no hurry to attack the special base. But the beast was angry. It decided to send a small wave of its kin to trouble the Beast Tamers.

Many worm beasts of different tiers started appearing on the wilderness surface. The Beast Tamers ignored them and tried not to have conflicts with the beasts.

Whereas in some cases, the worm beasts attacked the Beast Tamers and succeeded in inflicting injuries.

It didn’t take long for these events to occur frequently.

Many Beast Tamers started getting injured. The news eventually reached the ears of the elders in the base. Now, all the Beast Tamers in the base had heard about it.

Elder Sandra conducted an important meeting. She thought that the Tier-9 Worm King had returned and was now testing the base.

In the meeting, it was decided that the previous missions were to be cancelled. Everyone got new missions, from the first-year to the third-year students.

The special base members’ mission was to find the worm beasts in the wilderness and eliminate them. This time, Elder Sandra didn’t leave the base.

Only half of the elders left the base. They were just going to monitor the surrounding miles. If the Worm King appeared within the surrounding miles, it could pose a direct threat to the base.

The Beast Tamers were all scattered across the wilderness. Many of them were in teams, while there were people who were going solo.

Jeremy Night was one among them. He had been doing missions hard for the past several days. He had already touched the limit.

He had tried to break through earlier, but the unknown beast egg continued to absorb natural energy during that time.

He understood that the unknown beast egg needed more natural energy. So, he had been looking for natural treasure areas since then.

He had even asked Elder John about it. Elder John had discovered such places before, but they had all been exploited by them. They hadn’t found new places since then.

Jeremy then decided to find one on his own. Right now, he was back on the path that goes to the territory of the former Tier-7 Royal Lion.

After coming back from that mission, he had always suspected that place was not simple. How come higher-tier beasts were roaming that area?

They were usually found in energy-rich areas, such as the abandoned valley where he found the herbal fruit.

He believed that those naturally formed bedrocks hid something.

Even though the mission was to find the worm beasts and hunt them, he made up his mind to find resources for himself first. Once he reached the 9th rank, he would be strengthened further.

On the way, he used his eye power to avoid other beasts. He had seen some of the elders flying out of the base, but they hadn’t gone in this direction.
