Chapter 967: Terrifying Worm Beast

After moving for an hour in this direction, he felt something off. He paused his footsteps and tried to stay calm.

Then he felt a small tremor beneath his feet. His expression turned solemn. He immediately used his eye power to see through the ground.

He could only see up to a few meters. There were no signs of the worm beasts, but he didn’t stop using his eye power.

Because the tremor was increasing. It didn’t take long for him to spot the beast. The worm beast was coming from the front.

The size of the worm beast was enormous. It was above 5 meters wide, and its length was more than 20 meters.

He didn’t waste time and unsheathed his blade. He held the blade and began to add starlight threads to the edges.

He could have used his handgun, but he knew it would be ineffective against the beast. It would only leave behind bullet holes, and the beast could recover later.

He wanted to use the blade to cause severe injury. Only then would he have a chance at victory. The blade’s edge glowed with white light.

The blade cut through the body of the beast. He didn’t stop and dashed forward, his hand drawing the blade along with his movement.

The blade continued to cleave through the flesh.

A yellowish liquid gushed forth from the wound, splattering across the ground. The next second, the fluid began to corrode the vegetation in the area.

The blood had corrosive properties.

Jeremy Night saw that the beast was successfully going to turn its body, so he moved towards the other side to attack.

The Tier-6 Worm Beast was not ordinary. It immediately released its pressure, which affected Jeremy Night. He couldn’t move as fast under the pressure.

Then he noticed a slippery liquid beginning to appear on the beast’s body. He immediately felt a sense of crisis from that liquid.

He didn’t have a good feeling about it, but he wouldn’t know for sure unless he tested it. He went near and drew his blade again.

He attacked. The blade came into contact with the skin covered in the slippery liquid.

The blade’s edge penetrated the skin easily. But when the flat side made contact with the slippery liquid...

It began to corrode. Seeing that, Jeremy Night was shocked. Now he knew where the sense of crisis came from.

He knew what would happen if his body touched the liquid.

The next second, the massive body of the worm beast turned faster. Its speed was now as fast as a small beast.

He immediately felt the crisis of death.

He used his movement method again and started fleeing from the area.

On the other hand, the worm beast was indeed using an ability—one it only used if its life was threatened.

The worm beast collided into the big trees and other vegetation along the way, razing down everything in its path.

The worm beast was destroying everything along the way. Half of its body was submerged in the ground, while the upper half was above the surface.

Jeremy Night immediately took a detour, changing direction abruptly. He wanted to see what the beast was going to do.

He had underestimated the worm beast. He had faced many worm beasts before, but he knew that a movement ability in worm beasts was rare.

Right now, he has encountered one.

If it were a Tier-7 or above beast, it would have already gotten closer to him. Even this Tier-6 beast was incredibly fast.

He made use of the sudden turn to slow the beast down. Fortunately, he was heading in the direction of the former Tier-7 Royal Lion’s territory.

If there were other beasts in that area, they would definitely collide with the Tier-6 Worm Beast.

As time passed, the speed of the Tier-6 Worm Beast began to slow down. However, it didn’t take long for the beast to close the distance toward Jeremy Night.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night’s speed had slowed down as well. But he successfully entered the area of the former Tier-7 Royal Lion.

He came across a series of bedrocks. He knew it was really difficult to run away from the beast. Though the speed of the worm beast had slowed, his own speed was decreasing too.

He pushed his legs to the limit, and now they were hurting. He then headed toward the crevice of the former Tier-7 Royal Lion.

He arrived in front of the crevice and looked at its size. The body of the worm beast was larger than the opening.

He made a decision and entered the passage. If the worm beast hadn’t possessed a movement ability, he would have inflicted many blade wounds on it.

He would have made the worm beast bleed to death.
