Chapter 964: Part 1: The Group’s shock

Rick and his team rejoined the other team. The other team was still recovering, but they told them the truth.

After learning that Jeremy Night was surrounded by Tier-6 Hyenas, they understood that he was dead.

Next, the beasts would chase after them. Since Rick and the others were seen by the beasts, they won’t go away.

Next, all 12 members summoned their Lifeline beasts. Then they started moving while standing on their lifeline beasts’ backs.

Their lifeline beasts moved faster than them. They quickly covered the large distance.

Time passed.

After several hours, they got closer toward their special base. But they were not chased by the Tier-6 Hyenas.

It surprised Rick and the others. All this time, they were restless. Their hearts were heavy. They had thought the beasts could appear at any time.

But the beasts didn’t appear at all. Everyone forgot about one person. That was Jeremy Night. They were certain that Jeremy Night was dead.

Even a Tier-6 Beast Tamer won’t be able to defeat a group of Tier-6 Hyenas. They were just Tier-5 Beast Tamers.

And Jeremy Night is a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. He might have died in one move.

Soon, they reached the special base. Their lifeline beasts returned to their mental zone. They looked at each other’s faces.

The team members had already decided not to talk about Jeremy Night. According to them, Jeremy Night was dead.

There was no need to reveal the news. If they leaked news about Jeremy Night, then others would question them.

Eventually, the elders could find out they went after Jeremy Night. All 12 members returned to their rooms silently.

An hour was left before the early morning. Only a few people were awake in the special base, so no one noticed them.

Jeremy Night returned to the base. He looked dirty. His armor was covered in dirt and mud. There were also stains of blood.

He made his way toward the accommodation buildings. He then returned to his room.

Forenoon

Jeremy Night went toward the administration building. The fight against the Tier-6 Hyenas was taxing. His senses had been heightened for a long time.

Thanks to his eye powers and blade skills, and more importantly, thanks to the starlight power, he was able to end the Tier-6 Hyenas.

He arrived in front of the building. Next, he walked into the building. His gaze swept across the place.

He saw Elder Smith and went to him. Once again, he attracted gazes from others. He ignored them.

"I have completed the mission," he said to Elder Smith.

Hearing that, Elder Smith was surprised. He didn’t expect Jeremy Night to complete this mission.

The area of the Tier-7 Royal Lion was so dangerous that even the Tier-6 Beast Tamers didn’t accept the mission.

He thought the news would shock others soon. Then he brought Jeremy Night to another room. There, Jeremy Night took out the container.

The cubs were sleeping inside the special container. Elder Smith verified it before approving the mission’s success.

"Your ranking will increase again," Elder Smith said.

"It was not enough," Jeremy replied.

Elder Smith nodded his head. He had heard a few things from Elder John, so he knew why Jeremy Night wanted to climb the Leader Board rankings.

He then thought of something and asked, "Did you come across any Beast Tamers?"

Hearing that, Jeremy Night raised his eyebrows. He did come across the Tier-5 Beast Tamers. He didn’t know whether it was a coincidence or not.

So he said, "No."

After finishing his work there, he left the place. But his mind was on something else. He didn’t know whether anyone was targeting him again.

He had thought the mastermind stopped targeting him.

He decided to wait and watch. Soon, he returned to his room. It didn’t take long for the news to spread.

Meanwhile

The informers shared the news with Rick and his team members. At first, they didn’t believe the news. Especially Rick and his four friends.

They saw how Jeremy Night was surrounded by Tier-6 Hyenas. It was impossible for him to leave the place alive.

So Rick contacted a few other people who worked in the administration building. Everyone saw Jeremy Night walk into the place.

He was alive and beaming with energy.

"Not even an injury on his body," Rick uttered in disbelief.

"Who is this guy?" Rick asked himself.

He began to believe the news because everyone he knew in the administration building attested to this matter.

But his friends were refusing to believe it. They wanted to see Jeremy Night in person. Everyone decided to go to the canteen later.

Noon

Jeremy came to the canteen to have food. He selected a special menu. He took a plate and self-served it before finding an empty table.

He placed the plate on the table. He sat on the chair next. He was comfortable. He then began to enjoy the food.

Everywhere he went, there would be a group of people looking at him. It was the same here. He ignored it and minded his own business.

At the same time, Rick and his friends walked into the place. They looked around. They were searching for Jeremy Night.

Finally, they saw him sitting alone eating his food. All five of them stood petrified. Rick couldn’t believe his own eyes.

Jeremy Night was in front of him. A lot of questions appeared in his mind. He didn’t know how Jeremy Night survived the Tier-6 Hyenas.

"Did the beasts spare him?" A question appeared in his heart. The next second, he shook his head. He felt his question was absurd.

How could the bloodthirsty Corrupted beasts spare a Human Beast Tamer? They treat them as food.

But Jeremy Night is a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. One attack would end his life.

Then he thought of another possibility, which was very rare. He thought Jeremy Night could have been saved by second-year or third-year students.

Those seniors at the top of the leader board rankings could deal with a group of hyenas. But the possibility of them appearing randomly there was low.

Right now, only one person could answer him. That person was Jeremy Night. He glanced at his friends. They didn’t look good.
