Chapter 963: Troublesome Hyenas

Wilderness

Jeremy Night was inside the passage. He saw those four-legged beasts changing direction all of a sudden.

He then used his eye power to check. He saw that they were going towards the dense vegetation area.

He then saw a few hidden figures behind the bushes. At first, he thought they were more corrupted beasts. Then he noticed that they had only two legs.

Jeremy was taken aback. He realized that the figures were not beasts. They could be Beast Tamers.

When this realization struck him, he decided to go outside and check. He thought they might be seniors.

They probably wouldn’t need his help. He used his "Feathered Steps" for movement.

Outside

Rick and his members were exposed. They were surrounded by the hyenas. One by one, they stood up. They could not continue to hide.

Rick and the others saw the huge hyenas. They were Tier-6 beasts. They could really feel the pressure from the beasts. The pressure alone was making it hard for their bodies to move.

All five of them were trapped right now. Rick and the others looked at each other. If they tried to escape, the beasts would catch up to them.

They didn’t dare to summon their lifeline beasts right now. If they did that, their lifeline beasts would be easily killed by the Tier-6 hyenas.

Rick and the others stood close to each other.

The hyenas opened their mouths wide, and saliva dripped from their tongues. They didn’t expect to come across human Beast Tamers.

The Tier-6 hyenas were intelligent. They knew that human Beast Tamers used their beasts to fight against them.

So, they were waiting for the beasts to appear.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night exited the cave passage. He then looked around before spotting the beasts.

He unsheathed his blade and covered the blade’s edge in starlight power. He added starlight threads one after another to the blade’s edge.

The blade’s edge glowed with white light.

"Explosive Steps"

Jeremy Night used the foot method. Energy burst forth from his feet, propelling his body forward.

Swoosh!

At the same time, the hyena beasts sensed someone coming from behind. All 6 beasts turned around and saw a human Beast Tamer.

This time, the human beast tamer was weaker than the 5 people already there. The beasts were not the only ones looking toward the human Beast Tamer.

Rick and the others saw Jeremy Night as well. They were surprised. They didn’t expect Jeremy Night to appear here.

Then they saw the hyenas walking towards him. They heaved a sigh of relief, but the threat was not over yet.

They didn’t think Jeremy Night could escape alive. After killing him, the beasts would likely turn toward them.

Rick collected his thoughts. He then turned toward his members.

He said, "Let’s escape."

Hearing that, the other four members reacted. They didn’t dare to stay here any longer. All five of them fled from the place.

They didn’t care about Jeremy Night. They had originally come here to confront Jeremy Night, but they didn’t expect to use Jeremy Night to escape from the place.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy Night saw them escaping from the place, but he didn’t care. He had long since seen through the strength of those Beast Tamers.

They were Tier-5 Beast Tamers. He didn’t know what first-year students were doing here, but they couldn’t help him anyway.

So, he ignored them and focused on the beasts in front of him.

Screech!

The Tier-6 hyena beasts made a weird sound before dashing towards him.

Jeremy Night used his eye power. He predicted the movements of the beasts.

"Shadow Slash"

When the beast got closer to him, he observed its head before shifting his body weight.

He moved sideways before swinging the blade at the beast. The starlight blade strike split open the flesh of the beast.

The blade attack created an open gash, and blood gushed forth from the wound.

Swoosh!

Jeremy Night then used a movement method to face the other beasts. The second and third beasts were so close they almost bit his neck.

He moved his hands and legs to avoid the attack.

Bite!

Both beasts bit the empty air. They missed their target.

At the same time, Jeremy used the opportunity. He thrust the blade right into the neck of one of the beasts.

Pfff!

The blade severed the blood vessels of the beast. Right then, he withdrew the blade and landed back on the ground.

Screech!

The beast made a sound of searing pain. Blood flowed out from the wound of the beast. The two Tier-6 beasts collapsed onto the ground.

The other four beasts launched the follow-up attacks.

Pfff!

He was too close to them. He used a movement method to widen the gap.

The beasts’ claws missed their target, cutting through the empty air. He bent his body at an unnatural angle to avoid the attacks.

"Blade One"

The 3rd beast was dangerously close. It almost swallowed him. He then used his blade move.

The blade moved fast, striking the upper jaw of the beast.

Pfff!

The blade wound caused the beast to stop in pain. He then withdrew the blade before falling down to the ground.

The massive size of the beast could crush him, so he stood up without hesitation.

As time passed, he swung the blade at the remaining beasts. He avoided their deadly mouths and claws, leaving blade wounds all over their bodies.

10 minutes later,

All six Tier-6 hyena beasts were on the ground. They only had a lingering breath left in their bodies.

Blood constantly flowed from their wounds. It didn’t take long for a pool of blood to form around their bodies.

They were now laying in a pool of blood.

Jeremy Night then gave them one last look. He didn’t want to waste time. The blood would draw attention from other beasts.

There were many beasts roaming in the wilderness, and they would soon come here. Next, he left the place without thinking further.

It didn’t take long for him to enter back into the thick vegetation. He used his eye power to avoid the roaming beasts in his path.
