Chapter 962: Resting in the cave

The 2 Beast Taming Teams fought a hard battle before defeating the corrupted beasts.

There were no casualties, but there were some minor injuries suffered by the team members.

They couldn’t resume the journey right away, so they decided to split. Those who were doing well could form one team, and the others could just wait and recover.

They couldn’t lose the track of Jeremy Night. Otherwise, their entire journey would be wasted.

So, a 5-member team departed from the place. Among the team members, there were Beast Tamers whose lifeline beasts could track the whereabouts of Jeremy Night.

As time passed, the five-member team got closer to the plain field. They came across a series of bedrock formations as well.

These natural bedrocks were the ideal place for any beasts to hide.

Among the members, there was a person with brown hair and eyes. He was the one who had led the team here. His name was Rick.

"My lifeline beast said that he is inside one of the crevices," Rick said.

Hearing that, the other four members nodded their heads. They decided to check the crevices.

At the same time, they were wary of this place. There could be higher-tier beasts hiding here. They had to be careful.

Rick communicated with his lifeline beast. He then led the team. They crossed one bedrock after another. None of them had summoned their lifeline beast outside yet.

Because if there were higher-tier beasts inside, they could be alerted.

Next, the team came in front of the exact crevice. The space was enough for them to go inside.

If both teams were here, then they would have confronted Jeremy Night without a problem. But just five of them were here.

If anything happened to their lifeline beasts, then they would be crippled.

"Why don’t we wait near the vegetation?"

"If any higher-tier beast appears, I’m sure he will come outside. Then we can witness his strength," Rick suggested.

He opened his eyes and sat up, leaning against the wall. He used his second eye power, but he saw no beast activity outside.

He looked away and began to run his breathing method. The natural energy from the surroundings entered his body.

He didn’t want to waste time. He decided to put effort into practice as well.

As time passed, corrupted beasts started appearing in the plain field. The plain field was an easy place to hunt other beasts.

Screech!

At this time, a group of four-legged beasts appeared near the bedrocks. Their appearance was so sudden.

In the blink of an eye, 6 beasts appeared.

They were not hybrid beasts, but four-legged dark hyenas, known for hunting other corrupted beasts in the wilderness.

Their bodies had long, dark frames. Their mouths were filled with sharp rows of teeth. Their height was above 4 meters.

Clearly, they were not Tier-5 beasts, but Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts. Only Tier-6 Corrupted Hyenas would have the guts to confront a dying Tier-7 Royal Lion.

The 6 beasts went near the entrance of the crevice. They wanted to know whether the Tier-7 Royal Lion had died or not.

Unlike the Royal Lion, these hyenas were corrupted beasts. The lion was a regular beast. It was already shocking news that a regular beast lived among the corrupted beasts.

It was because of its formidable strength. If not for the Royal Lion’s Tier-7 strength, it wouldn’t have survived here.

These hyenas were now ready to enter inside.

Rick and his team members were quiet. They dared not make any sound. They had expected higher-tier beasts to appear, but they didn’t expect six beasts to appear in total.

He then saw 6 four-legged beasts. From the size of the beasts, he understood that they were not Tier-5 beasts.

He believed the beasts could be Tier-6 beasts, because he had not encountered any Tier-7 beast groups so far in the wilderness here.

One of the members stepped on a twig. It snapped the next second. The members nearby were startled.

The six hyenas which were going toward the entrance stopped all of a sudden. The beasts then sniffed around before turning backward.

The sound piqued the curiosity of the beasts. They turned around and started approaching the vegetation.

Rick and the others were trembling. They couldn’t stop their bodies from shaking.
